It's SO EASY to fix this; Pay the players. Hold their money in a trust until they graduate, money gains interest so they can pay them that much less, and it keeps the schools "academic" integrity in tact. There's no way around this. You have young athletes sacrificing their bodies to for these institutions to make BILLIONS, and they can't get a check?! Of course someone else has been pocketing that money.

Ig he's the only coach in the NCAA, it's because he has a big name. Even HS/Prep School/AAU coaches do this. It was something personal that made someone leak this out because practically every successful highly paid coach in the NCAA D1 bracket does this in every major division. In an earlier interview LaVar Ball explained why he developed his own independent AAU basketball team and it was because of the in due influence of the big shoe company's involvement in the whole process. You can hate on LaVar for a lot of things but "him NOT LETTING THE SHOE COMPANIES, NCAA, SPORTS AGENTS to profit off his kids" is commendable. I just saw an attorney state that the FBI looks at this situation from the standpoint of THE BIG SHOE COMPANIES CORRUPTING THE PROCESS AND THESE KIDS at an early age (13) and that they see the families involved more as victims and not perpetrators. I am waiting to see if the MEDIA is going to interview LaVar regarding this, since he has been SPOT ON regarding the undue influence of these shoe companies but since he is RIGHT HERE, they probably won't as it would put him in a very FAVORABLE LIGHT and ruin their "narrative" about him!

Athletes CHOOSE to go to college. Many athletes get a FULL RIDE FREE EDUCATION AND THEY GET TO DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY LOVE TO DO...PLAY BALL. NOW MANY WILL DISAGREE BUT A 50,000 dollar free education is perfect. They travel everywhere. They get to grow as an adult. People with power and $$$ will always exploit those who do not have it. But college is for education. Players that get a free ride and DO NOT graduate is just plain sad; especially including anyone who says "they are only there to play ball....we all know they do not or are unable to make or earn the grades"....blah blah blah. They choose to go; they know the pros\cons but really people underestimate the value of a 4 year degree. Athletes should not get paid until a professional contract is signed. Im sure many will disagree.

It is inappropriate to not paying college athletes for their services. College athletes from every school need to unite together and have a nationwide player strike, if the school expel them because of this, all of the major professional sport leagues will be angry with the ncaa due to a lack of talents into their leagues, so the ncaa will have to pay.

They pay the players with college tuition! The idea is to go to college and get an EDUCATION. That's what they signed up FOR. If they want to be paid like professionals they need to earn their right to be a PROFESSIONAL.

Linking this criminal behavior to paying college athletes is a stupid cop-out argument! College athletes are paid tens of thousands of dollars in tuition, room, board, tutoring, books, supplies, clothing, etc. If that is not enough, they can go to the CBA or Europe.
