Her hair was an homage to Priscilla the day she married Elvis. He wore a Leather outfit. The guitar is actually Elvis‘s 1968 “Comeback” Guitar! The two young children are her cousins, her Uncle Michael’s children, the older girl is her sister Juliette. 🌺

It was nuts. That voice is what perfect should hope to be. Is it the best cover we've ever seen? Maybe. To take a bit of pepped up song about new lovers thinking of building a life, and change it to a powerful song about family and forever, convincingly with a song that well known, is wild. I don't know how it came together, but piano man made the arrangement and I guess grandma and granddaughter found a different way of taking it, that also happened to suit the slowed down arrangement that she could have arranged, as I'm sure piano man intended. We can see why he can't stop hanging out with her, but he's clearly here for it and helping out. She eased her fans with this one. Too many people out there thinking she was working on mainstream stuff, not slowing things down much anymore. Of course she was working on her versatility, not changing. I hope this isn't about her pops or someone. I mean with him being not for this lifestyle kind of thing. Not as a huge deal, but maybe a thing to draw from that can be tough at times. Just spit balling. But them getting better at showing us the connection she feels to a song visually, to go along with the clear connection we hear is interesting either way.
Listening to this song puts me on a time lapse. Like a 4 minute song seems a 4 decades of journey has gone through. I don't have words anymore... She is just amazing.
I love her lower register. It is imposible to ever get bored of Angelina. She is always surprising. You never can tell exactly what she will do. It seems impossible but she is still getting better. She is 16 I suppose it is possible that she can improve on perfection. We who follow her are just waiting for the rest of the world to catch up. It seems incredible that she is still not more widely known. I am still finding people who have never heard of her.
I believe that's because she's still in high school, and her parents want her to have a "normal" childhood. Having said that, I have a "feeling" that her album might be officially released during her upcoming tour in Norway - sort of a gift to her Norwegian fans who supported and helped to launch her career.

I got up a little early to watch it at the premiere and have listened to it a dozen times now or so. I love the sandwich approach with the repeat of the first verse at the end: or actually the repeat of the last verse at the start (if you compare it to the original). I love the strong beginning. The arrangement, piano, guitar are amazing. The visuals are gorgeous and the scene with her two young nieces and her sister give the impression of her growing up. It's just so beautiful. Comparing this version with the one of Elvis, I feel that Elvis version is a sort of upbeat, hopeful plea for things to change so that love can go on. With Angelina's version there is resignation at first: things must change and else it will be over. When towards the end when it turns into a desperate plea. But that's my take on her take on Elvis' take on Mark James' immortal song :-)

Angelina sings the song the way the lyrics dictate it should be sung. She sings it in a subdued manner letting her pure voice and the background piano take you on an emotional journey. She projects the feelings one has when dealing with a jealous partner.
The 'hair do' is totally Amy Winehouse. In the song she captures the true essence of Elvis which reminded me of her doing his gospel classic 'How Great Thou Art'.

Mery never misses an opportunity to film her grandchildren, and the set that they made was incredible. Angelina’s voice at 16 is already so seasoned, it’s hard to imagine what it’s going to be like in twenty years.

Wow!!! What a rendition! Gandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for My Funny Valentine! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls were maybe her uncle Mike's kids? And, of course, Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! I was not expecting this! Funny thing is, this was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! Going to listen to it again!
Angelina and Daneliya both make us really listen to older songs by slowing them down. But this was truly a sublime arrangement. Her genius just oozes out in her creations. Then there is that voice which is sounding stronger and more sure of itself. Angelina has found her authentic voice. I first heard it in her TikTok cover of Adele's 'Love Is A Game'. Keeping the original feeling of a song while singing it in a new way is sometimes very difficult, this girl has somehow mastered that obstacle. This is an experience I will enjoy for however many years I may have left. Cliff, my Brother, it is always great to see you and hear you talk about music. Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and always was, and still is, one of my favorites; but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
I was never a huge Elvis fan, even though my mother was, and she played his songs all the time, but I have read in the comments last night that this tribute was complete. From the black leather jumpsuit that Elvis wore on his comeback tour and the red guitar, to the hairstyle reminding us of his wife Priscilla from the early years. This young lady and those she works with are masters at what they do. And she was still paying tribute to a blue eyed Persian girl she met weighing people on the street 10 years ago. Not to mention her two little nieces and her sister being in the video. She truly is a treasure, and this interpretation was solid gold. Oh and not to forget, your reactions were gold. I could see the emotions and that's why I watch 'reaction videos'.

I'd listened to Elvis' version before I heard Angelina's, knowing hers was coming out. This is a whole different song but as you said, pays respect to him. Her voice is delving into a kind of power that's hard to explain. Angelina marathon -- yes, please! 160+ covers, and right now she's in Norway giving concerts, so there will surely be more live performance RU-vids to react to.
