The song is not about being homeless. It’s about someone arrogant who put less fortunate people down, and then wound up in the same predicament.

This song is about whatever you think it's about. That's the genius of Dylan.he creates something and lets it go and where it ends up or how it's interpreted is just fucking fine by him. That's how you win a nobel prize.

Bob Dylan is a legendary songwriter poet starting in the 60's. So many great songs such as "Blowin' In The Wind", "Don't Think Twice It's Alright", "The Times They Are A-Changin'", "Mr. Tambourine Man", "Shelter From The Storm", "Lay Lady Lay" etc. The 60's group The Byrds covered a lot of his songs. In 1988 Bob Dylan joined the supergroup the "Travelling Wilburys" which included George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison & Tom Petty.

There's Bob Dylan, then there's all the rest. He's unique, a one off, irreplaceable, the likes of whom we will never see again. His canon of work is unsurmountable, no one equals his output, content, genre of work, live performances, once you're hooked, there's no going back...

Bob Dylan was a winner of the Nobel Prize. He wrote an incredible amount of songs, including this one. "Positively 4th Street" is another about someone getting their verbal comeuppance, which he gave freely and brilliantly to many others in his countless songs. Thanks for the reaction!

Back in high school I worked in the library and they had this book that was all these Bob Dylan songs but just the lyrics so it was like poems. I read that a couple times. So unlike other people when he was awarded the Nobel prize, I could totally see where that was coming from.

As a 66 year-old listening to Dylan all my life, this song never grows old....... Dylan in all his brilliance comes to bear on this person he sings about, maybe lyrics of anger from a jilted lover? Anyhow, it is such a masterpeice. Your reaction brings new meaning to this song for sure. I love it when younger people start delving into my generational music, like my daughter going all in on The Beatles. Great reaction, loved your comments, TY.

Bruh... When Bob Dylan debuted this song at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, he was actually booed by the crowd. They couldn't yet comprehend his monumental achievement of the fusion of Folk and Rock. It was one of the most important moments in the history of modern music. Though you may not have any personal, first-hand experience with some of the things about which he is speaking, you *can* relate to it because you are a human being and are educating yourself to become more and more fully realized. Congratulations on the amazing voyage of discovery upon which you have embarked. I envy you the long strange trip yet to come.

Bob Dylan and progressed from an acoustic folk singer to anelectric blues and rock singer

I was 15 the summer of 1965! This was one of numerous songs put out by now-legendary artists that came out that summer that became legendary! Bob Dylan not only had this song he sang himself, but, ironically, there were so many songs released at the SAME EXACT TIME, by other artists, that he wrote, covers: IT AIN'T ME BABE, ALL I REALLY WANT TO DO, MR. TAMBERINE MAN...I could go on&on! But, this became my favorite Dylan song (the organ hooked me)! Other songs I liked better (Beatles songs of course) that summer but this song was one of them that to this day was very special for me sure! It might even be more so now! I never ever tired of it! This is probably why most of us from that generation never turned away from that music in the '60's&'70's! And probably why we still listen to it now: there was so much of it, we ONLY had a chance to SAMPLE alot of it! Back then, We zeroed in on Beatles & other British groups! Thru the decades tho, we've been listening to what we kind of "glanced" at! It's just a lifetime of music that has stood the test of time! To prove it, can u name a song that was popular when u were 8? When I was 8, there's a song called "RUNNING BEAR" that I have on my ringtone today, bc it brings memories of my brothers& sisters, laughing, just being happy as we played & ran around, while an older sister played a transistor radio. Anyway, so glad u got to listen to Dylan, the Poet Laureate of America! 🤙👏
