BTS isn’t your normal average kpop group , boyband or any type of band today .. trust me there a reason why they are CURRENTLY THE BIGGEST GROUP/ BOYBAND in the world for the past 4 years . Believe it or not BTS fans kinda hate when it their box in as kpop or “boyband “ cause a lot of non fans think their only for teenage girls like Nsync, Backstreet Boys etc .. no hate or anything . But BTS is different. They’re music is all about positivity and spreading a message . They want to show everyone Music should not be judge or discriminated regardless of language. It has the power to transcend and translate messages . That’s why they’re so huge . They tackle topics in their music / albums from mental health , depression, politics , socio economics, self love , motivation , etc. a lot of they’re fans are actually over age 20. Not the stereotypical 13 year olds only etc. yes they do have a lot screaming girls but that’s like any other group with handsome guys . As an Asian American it makes me happy to see them accomplish and win so much . Especially since ever since Covid , the Asian community has gotten so much discrimination and hate being labeled as a virus , being physically assaulted and receiving so much racial slurs . Meanwhile we’re just Trying to have more REPRESENTATION IN western media entertainment . Unfortunately it’s still happening

You say you like lyrics. BTS has some of the deepest lyrics of any artist I’ve ever listened to. Starting from their very first album, they have been singing and rapping about personal development. And the write their own music. So all of this is them and what they feel and believe. They are amazing young men.

This song is off their Map Of The Soul 7 album which was based, in part, on Carl Jung's psychological theory of personal development focused on the persona, The Shadow and The Ego. Black Swan is about losing passion for their craft. World renowned Choreographer, Martha Graham, once said "a dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the most painful". There's a "making of" video for this mv and I suggest watching it.

One thing that REALLY sets BTS apart from other groups is their involvement with their music. All 3 rappers are credited as producers for a lot of their projects, with Suga probably being the most prevalent of the 3. He even does work for other artists in the industry! RM (the one you liked) is known for his incredible lyricism. He's credited in most of their songs for writing. Although every member contributes to their songs! It's not just the 3 rappers. Compared to other groups from the "big 3" entertainment agencies, BTS has always had creative freedom. I think that's why their music connects with so many people, all the members contribute to just about EVERY song to tell the message that they want to share. For their BE album in 2020 every member further contributed to the concept, album design, photoshoots, and the youngest member Jungkook even directed their music video, "Life Goes On". You really won't come across another group that's THIS talented in every department!

Superficial aspects are not even the reason why BTS remained to be so popular among the rest. BTS is still more than singing, rapping, dancing, and music. Their message, storyline, and hardships are big and impacted lots of ARMY's. 💜

Thanks for doing reactions to BTS and giving them a chance and dont worry if you dont like something just be honest and respectful and Army's should respect that. Like some others have said, I think it would be helpful to get to know the boys and how they came to be their struggles , their hardships and of course their triumphs. Many have recommend introduction like introduction to the 7 members of bts. You can do the updated versions but some of the older ones are good too, I find sometimes the updated versions cram too much info into them you might get overwhelmed if you are new. But either ones are great. Getting to know the boys and their personalities and what they stand for is important to understand BTS over all, they are not a typical boyband they are not just a group of men they are a group of bothers maybe closer then brothers if that could happen. Its fine watching mvs but watch live performances , interviews , funny clips trust me army will watch them. So welcome to this very amazing phenomenon we call BTS. Have fun.

I still didn't finish watching the video. Just paused at when you're talking about what separates the greats and the goods and it made me laugh! You just discovered the lyrics to a bts song you haven't heard yet! "DDAENG". they use a korean card game reference in it and introduce the term kutt (sounds like how you're saying goods almost lol) which is a hand in that card game that is just alright. you can even win with it. but then they call themselves another hand wich is ddaeng, and that is the ultimate hand that beats all. basically in that song they say "we're ddaengs and you all are kutts". you might be good, but we still better 'cause we're great. You really just stumbled on one of their song lyrics without trying to and that is hilarious to me haha.
