One thing is for sure, If a song is written by RM, explanations are needed. It doesn't matter if the song is written for BTS, himself or other artists, he always excels Wordplay across multiple languages, poetic verses, metaphors, he can do it all. He even speaks using wordplay for God sake That's why he is known as the "philosopher who raps"
@@mev9752 In 2019 a TopClass magazine described namjoon as “the philosopher who raps”and "a wizard of songwriting and composing" that's why I mentioned that title Also Rap stands for rhythm and poetry so ofc RM is a poet who raps ♡
BTS' rap songs makes me want to study Korean. RM is a genius lyricist and his wordplays are insane. Song translations doesn't do it justice. I'm happy there are ARMYs out there who takes the time to explain and translate their songs for non-korean speakers.
Love when people appreciate RM's rap. In case you didn't know RM has an IQ of 148. He ranked high (nationally) amongst his peers in school. I'd like to recommend Suga's song "Shadow" - Danny from DKDKTV does a great job breaking down the video. Also Suga's "First Love".
Yup and he scored the top 1.3 percent of the nation's exam. Of the entire nation. So basically RM is very smart and he always uses double meanings and play around with words
Ok, but the fact that all the ARMY fans present fell silent when RM's part started is powerful, they all listened carefully to his part. HE SLAYYYYYYYYYYY.
Yes, that should be up next with the DKDKTV explanation. Their explanations are always fun and witty, never boring. Ugh! is an AMAZING song with lyrics that cut deep about the state of the world today.
Important note guy: RM (Leader) learnt english very young watching friends and became fluent. He also has an IQ of 148, so he is extremly bright, not stupid or crazy when it comes to lyrics, as you just noticed. This is why people want to know the meaning behind the BTS lyrics, as usually there is hidden meaning.........LOL
RM's lyricism is top tier. The word plays he does in two languages is just amazing and I am glad you notice that. JHope and Suga they are fab too. They always use such deep meanings in their lyrics and that is why we like them. They write their own music so we know the stuff they are talking about is out of their mind and what they wanted to express and not cooked and given to them by someone less. I am emphasizing on this because writing their own lyrics is not very common in Kpop industry.
Apparently, the songs you've checked are mostly diss tracks but there are 300+ songs of BTS. Not every song is a diss track. Many are about self love, mental health, depression, societal issues and expectations, loneliness, emotions of youth, and all these songs are based on their own stories. It's basically a story telling more than a song. Like they have a song for you, for every situation in life. And talking about RM you're right, he's literally a rap monster. It amazes me every time, Just talking with him or listening to his words makes you feel smarter because like, his words have LAYERS to them. He thinks and puts every single word deliberately and when we understand his thought process, we are gobsmacked. I cannot tell you the sheer number of times I have just sat like O.O after reading his words/lyrics or listening to him. I wish I had the ability to properly explain his intellect. He is like an onion, layers upon layers just waiting to be revealed. He's so much brilliance wrapped into a 6 foot frame. It's amazing. He truly was written by a woman cuz DAMN, that man is PERFECTION.
They also have love songs, and full of the same poetry. 134340 will always be one of my favorites, a song correlating lost of love with Pluto being demoted as a planet will never lose its place on my top 10
Thanks for watching the explanation video. Not all songs are hard to decipher but some like Ugh and Baepsae are so much better once you know what the lyrics mean. This is what sets BTS apart from most other kpop groups like Blackpink. A lot of kpop songs are fun bops and BTS has no shortage of those (btw it's crazy to me that you haven't yet seen a proper BTS MV lol), but it's BTS's self written and self produced tracks (not all about their haters, many are about their own struggles with depression, burn out, self love) that have saved literal ARMY lives and why ARMY are so passionate about BTS.
Like 400 thousand people in the queue just to get into the website for tickets 🤧 I swear to God, those who have been lucky enough to get tickets, you probably saved a life in your past lives
Gentlemen, since you are huge RM fans, I cannot recommend "Do You" strongly enough. The video first...it's a visual treat. My favorite Namjoon song, for what it's worth.
16:20 If you notice the 3 blurred logo are actually because Suga actually mentioned the big 3 companies in K-pop industry. YG, SM and JYP Entertainment. We call them the big3. Basically if you debut from these companies, you're likely to have everything easier from groups who don't come from this big3. You'll already have fans even before your debut, you'll have the hype, and you'll have media on your side because the big3 is controlling the media and influence in South Korea. Blackpink is one of the groups that come from the big3 which is YG. While BTS had to work their asses off to be where they're today because they were underdogs and not to mention how this big3 used to and still shitting on BTS and tried and still try to sabotage BTS because they couldn't believe a group from a small company is this successful.
@@sarajk7604 which part of my comment is rude? Which part of my comment that said others didn't work hard? I just said it's a lil bit easier for them. Maybe learn to read next time.
@@sarajk7604 that's why I'm asking, which part of my comment is rude? You're triggered just because I said others had everything easier? So easier is an insult to you? Not my problem and don't reply. I'm not in a good mood and reading your comment just make it worse.
@@sarajk7604 nothing about their comment was disrespectful nor was it untrue. It’s a known fact that you’ll have it easier making it big when you already come from a company with major influence over the music industry in your country. BTS didn’t have that, their company was small, and it is factually true that they had to work harder than most groups to make it to the level they are now, all while being sabotaged, looked down on, and made fun of by those in power + fans of other, more popular groups. There’s no disrespect in saying Big3 groups had/have it easier, because it’s true. HYBE became one of those companies through the hard work of BTS, and now groups under their labels have a chance to get the same treatment and luxuries that Big3 groups got to enjoy years before BTS made it big. Nowhere is anyone saying other groups haven’t worked hard, just that their labels/companies had enough influence to actually promote them so they could grow bigger in the media, which the former BigHit could not do with their limited resources, thus resulting in the Bangtan boys having to work ten times as hard as a group normally would to get the recognition they deserved. Absolutely no disrespect was being passed around here, just hard facts and truth. If that’s too much to handle, sorry 🤷♂️
Loved this. And yes, RM is literally a genius, his levels of wordplay are unbelievable. (And the stuttering is one of my favourite things he’s done tbh) This miiiight be a good gateway into the other 4 members? They performed Ddaeng during the annual BTS fan concert (the 5th Muster) and had a lot of fun with it
I read somewhere that to be a BTS ARMY you have to be really intelligent hard working and knowledgeable because you have to know about Korean language, Korean political, social, cultural and current affairs, Mental health care, Literature, painting and on top of that you have to be good at research. You guys just found that out. Thanks again for your reaction. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🤟🇲🇽🇰🇷
And thats why army move very different than the other fandoms n very organized. We have alot of smart people in our fandom. Just look how many times btschartdata ideas got copied by other fandoms n get acknowledged by medias.
Namjoon is someone we always look upto for motivation and assurance. He is not just the leader of BTS but he is armys leader too. He is head of the family basically 😅
WHAT A HAPPY DAY!!! finally happened, BTS AND LYRICS ARE INSEPARABLE!!! THANK YOU for considering our suggestions sorry I don't recognize the name, but to the guy on the right, it's okay for you to try a new format like a comparison.. we try to listen to your ideas and you can try to get used to being comfortable with us as if we were your community 💜💜💜💜💜
Ddaeng 🛎 Well, that's BTS! Welcome to BTS wordplay! That's what Armys usually say, they aren't your typical boyband. Lyrics are deep. There's a lot more to discover. I'm enjoying your journey with BTS... I am a teacher by the way who used BTS speeches esp RM's - the Genius 💙 to helo inspire my students..💜
DKDKTV are amazing....this was a great reaction. Please don't under estimate BTS lyrical powers...and remember...RM has literally got a genius level IQ...no shitting you. 148iq....he can flip meaning, rhyming between language like nobody else....They are all....all 7....soooo talented
What the others said. You don’t have to do really long videos all the time, your reactions are great because they are honest and you clearly enjoy doing them, it would be a shame to lose that from pushing yourself too hard. There are some other songs where it is probably important to watch the explanation video (Ugh for ex), and there are some where understanding what that MV is about has deepened the experience for myself (Spring Day, Idol, Black Swan are just 3), but with the exception of a small few (where knowing the word play is so important), they are fully enjoyable at a non-deep level. The production is top tier, the singing and rap are top tier, the music and lyrics are top tier, the dancing is top tier, and the visuals are as well. There’s so much to enjoy and experience without going into the deep meanings and word play and the BU and everything else. You can always come back to it later. Love yourself and don’t stress! 💜
It's so cool as an army to watch reactions because we love to watch people fall for our guys. One of my fave parts is seeing who sticks out to whom. And I see RM has stuck out for you guys and it makes me happy
Thank you, guys, for doing all 3 daeng videos. 😊 when you have time, you don’t even have to upload it, watch Dang behind the scenes (when the 3 rappers were finalizing the song) and also the live one where they made the vocal line sing it. 😅
Always look forward to you guys releasing new BTS reactions! For this particular song, an explanation video is really necessary. You guys don’t need to worry if you don’t pick up on the wordplay, only those fluent in Korean will really be able to. All of us international ARMYs get attracted to the beats and musicality of their songs first, and the deeper appreciation of them comes later when we understand the lyrics. 😊 We’re here for whatever you guys come up with! Do you.
After listening to some more of their songs and feel as if you’ve gotten a good taste, it’d be great to watch an introduction of them! I’d recommend the “A guide to Bts members: the bangtan 7” by Taylor!
The genius wordplay and no cuss words still being a diss track.! BTS RAPLINE made this absolute genius track which for us ARMYs is our National Anthem.! No cap.! No doubt all their diss tracks are amazing and powerful but it’s the way this song hits is different.! The 3 different ways and style the haters are called out.!! 🫡 And Joon’s verse….. Hands down by far till date the best Of his RAPs.!!! My man is a wordplay genius and being an ARMY since 2015….. This verse of Joon is his epitome of his RAPs……
Thank you for your hard work. Appreciate the effort. But seriously, you can do your own thing. Don't let us pressure you. 😀😃😄 Happy to learn new things or stuff you can recommend. I find that i always learn something new from a reactor. Our backgrounds, communities or experiences are all different but BTS songs help us understand them and see if there's some commonality or awesome individuality we may have missed. Here for you whether it be a short enjoy-the-music/vibe videos or long deep dives all-at-once-make-my-mind-hurt thing. Have a great offline day 🙂💜
DKDKTv has an amazing explanation for Suga’s Daechwita. I think they have a lot of dis songs because there are people who make it their life’s work to hate on Bts. It’s fun to have so many variations of them clapping back.
I'm so glad you guys are focusing on rapline of BTS....becoz many people focus more on vocal line..I'm not saying their vocal line is bad or something..hell their vocal line is rarest one in whole k-pop industry...you should react to them also...but your focus on rapline... chef's kiss💎
Thank you for genuinely appreciating their artistry and talent. It means a lot to us. I'm looking forward for you guys to explore BTS as a whole and vocal line too. All of the 7 members are extremely talented together and individually. They are not only great artists and musicians but amazing human beings too. I hope you not only explore their music but also get to know them♥️
The free concert will be streaming online for free too, so you can still watch it. You'll have to get up early, though, because it's at like 5am EST time because it's being held in Busan Korea.
It’s like 2 am my time. I thought I read that it would be on multiple platforms? I have Weverse but would be great if it’s on RU-vid too. Do you know if that is correct?
I'd love you guys doing a recommendation video with rappers that have similar styles to BTS members. I like watching your videos but I have very little interest in rap generally partially because idk where to start. Glad you guys finally watched Ddaeng! RMs stutter verse is just. Ooh. So good. And the wordplay? Anyway thanks for indulging us and always being respectful, you guys are awesome!🔥🔥
This was a really fun video. I appreciated seeing the explanation behind things as well. I'm curious as to what you would think of their music videos and seeing them dance more alongside the singing and rapping. Hope you guys continue to enjoy BTS.
I still can't get over they released this for FREE! That is BTS, they are not money grabbers, they just want to make the best content. I love DKDKTV as they are ARMY. If there is an explanation for a track on their channel add it on to your reaction for your subscribers and yourself! PLEASE DO THE SAME FORMAT FOR THE TRACK UGH!💜💜
We just want your genuine reactions. So if you know any similar artists feel free to say it. There is going to be some ARMYs who are not ok with it. Just ignore them. If you hestitate to say, that makes your reaction not complete. Just be yourselves. That's the message BTS gives to the world. Thank you for your reactions.💜
-You can do whatever you want. It's your channel at the end of the day. Nobody is gonna be mad. -Please do the same with "UGH" (Studio version, Live performance and Explanation Video by DKDKTV). The song goes hard hard. -DKDKTV actually have multiple explanation videos of other songs and music videos by BTS. Since they are Koreas, their explanation videos are really helpful in getting some nuances that get lost in translation across, so I do recommend you check out more of their explanations because English translations fail to do justice to their lyrics most times. Other amazing explanation channels I recommend are "Bookish Theories" (this channel does a great job at explaining the symbolism in their music videos(Most BTS music videos have hidden meanings and/or symbolisms that either correlate to the song or have a completely different story of their own, e.g."Spring Day", "I Need You"), how they relate to the song and other songs, as well as how the song relates to the theme of the album that the song is from. They also explain the inspiration behind the songs and how BTS emotionally relate to the songs' lyrics. Their breakdowns are so intelligent and very extensive. Their explanations of "Black Swan" and "ON" are my absolute favorites). If you get to their song called "Baepsae/Silver spoon", please also follow it up with an explanation video from DKDKTV. -There's a song of theirs called "GO GO" which is misunderstood by many as a fun little cute song about doing whatever you want with your money, but the song is actually an economic satire if you actually dive deeper into it's lyrics. There's so much usage of economical terms that only Koreans are familiar with, so I suggest(if you do get to that song) that you also check out it's explanation video by the channel "A PIECE OF KOREAN CULTURE"(this channel is also by a Korean who explains the songs lyric by lyric from a Korean's point of view)
Oh yes, I forgot about her channel...her explanations are also great. Whatever explanation video they choose for the song is great and will be informational.
I just recently stumbled upon your channel. I'm an ARMY so obviously I had to head back to your earlier videos to see how your journey with BTS had started and I wasn't disappointed. My goodness, you guys really just tripped over BTS randomly and fell head first into the rabbit hole!😂The first three videos on BTS were a whole comedy show. The absolute whiplash you both had from having your misconceptions shattered was delightful to watch! I really enjoy your sense of humor and honesty. You seem like the type of people I'd enjoy just hanging out with, which I guess is what I'm doing right now, huh. With that said, you have merely scratched the surface of what BTS is and I'm curious to see how your perception of them is going to change as you keep exploring. This song is definitely a good glimpse into RM's writing capabilities. I'm happy you checked out the explanation video. Following BTS involves doing a bit of homework but it's part of the fun. I actually have several other Korean artists in mind that you might enjoy but I think I'll keep those recommendations for a later date as you have your plate full with BTS for now. And finally, I know you're not ARMY yet but I'll give an early 'welcome to the family' because quite frankly, I don't see you turning back from this rabbit hole. You don't know it yet, but BTS has a way of sneaking up on ya. Being a fan of a single member still makes you an ARMY as long as you're not disrespectful to other members. So yea, you nice, keep going💜
The thing about BTS is that fans first and foremost like them as human beings -- so when they're crushing it, it's this proud mom feeling when your good boy goes up and performs. Then when they KILL it, you're just so happy for them.
Genius lyricist. 7 uses of the same word. All as a gift. It's the most in demand unoficially released song. Your starting to understand the magic of BTS..... it's more than just a song.
I enjoy your reactions because you are absolutely genuine. I also like that your lives come first before RU-vid. As someone who got into BTS because of RM's stage presence and his poetic soul, I totally get the enthusiasm you convey in your reactions. Please don't worry that you don't 'get' all of the song's references after a few listens. It is possible to 'feel' the music without understanding everything. I grew up listening to American songs and memorizing lyrics without truly understanding the culture and meaning of the songs. But the process made me fall in love with the language. As fas as I know, humans are connected via indescribable something regardless of their differences. Art is one of those rare things that we all can share. True, you may not get the full kick out of this song as native Koreans do, but I believe you can enjoy it as much. Korean language as used by some lyricists and poets is incredibly sexy. I have a feeling you're getting it because you understand words as beats, and beats as heart. Thank you for sharing your time. Best wishes. 💜💜💜
The concert "The free one" is coming October 15 at 6pm KST. “Yet To Come” concert in Busan will be livestreamed on Weverse and probably other platforms you will be able to find it. Not a lot of information has been put out yet, but I'm sure as the date gets closer, more information will be come available.
Nah, If you definitely want Namjoon's Wisdom on SONGS... My top tier is Trivia:Love by Namjoon. 'Cause how tf he's talking about love and make you feel loved too? And don't make me feel too by Joon's verse in ft cause Don't by Aeon is sooo good. Just the explanation of his verse. Damn. I just can't explain how attractive and gorgeous Namjoon is because of his wisdom and knowledge. It's so rare nowadays. I can't even find a man in real life.
OK I did it. I subscribed! There is no shortage of bops and rabbit holes when it comes to bts. I hope you guys continue enjoying them and the ride that comes with becoming ARMY
Appreciate you took the time to really dive into this song. You're right! When it comes to BTS, there is no such thing as too long to ARMY. Glad that you did the explanation cuz this is one of those songs that needs it to appreciate it fully for what it is which is AMAZING and you saved us from asking for it. On top of that, nothing beats their live performances.😄💜
Now after watching this I really want you guys to check out vocal line switching roles and performing DDAENG live along with rapline, it's amazing and this will blow your mind for sure💜
Thank you doing the lyrics, live and explanations. I really love this song and your reaction is amazing! RM especially is crazy with wordplay and is very poetic as well. Including this technical skill which is top tier including Suga and Jhope too. Feel free to also recommended other artist that have the same styles as any of them. Would love to check them out. I do listen to other artist thou BTS always remain the special band for me.
ddaeng was the song that made my friend an ARMY after me showing her like 20+ songs of BTS and I'm very happy for that. She even discovered it by herself without me recommending it when it wasn't even in an album or something
I'm glad you guys did it like this, lyrics, live, explained. We love long videos! Another 2 you should check out eventually with explanations (both by dkdktv again) are : Ugh! & Baepsae . Ugh is rap line only, baepsae is all of them but I think you'll like it. Another thing you should check out is BTS festa room live. It shows a sample of their discography from their debut to 2020, (it's only 10 minutes tho, don't worry!) and I know you'll love at least parts of it for certain. And yes, rm is the man. That's what having a 148 iq will do for a group. When you combine his smarts with the rest of the group's talents & contributions, it's magic. Keep it up guys! 💜
The cool thing is they do this in Japanese too. I'm a 46 yr old woman that has never listened to rap but I love rhyme and meter literature. It was their genius word play and amazing flows that made me appreciate the medium. And I love that they don't try to edge each other out but rather celebrate their different styles. And they really admire the 4 members of the vocal line. And honestly, they have over 300 songs but only a handful are diss tracks. Their map of the soul era is pretty amazing. I highly recommend the rap line's individual songs Persona, Shadow and Ego along with the explanation videos. Also, loved the comparison of ddaeng to I'm good.
The 3 are genius when it comes to wordplay like it's even more interesting than English in away (English is not my first btw) they play with it and switch back and forth sometimes but still make it work and have meaning wow I always thought the 7 are such good song writers especially Rm 💜
I really appreciate you guys actually trying to look into the meaning and understand the song rather than just listen to it, decide you just don’t get it and hate it. The fact that you genuinely took time out of your day to try and understand it sets you apart from a lot of other reactors tbh. Appreciate it. Subscribed.
i particularly love RM's whispering verse and stuttering in this. the fact that ddaeng isn't on spotify since it was a gift for army is tragic :((( i hope it will be added one day. other recs! bts' discography: 'Intro:Persona', , 'Ugh', 'Trivia 承: Love' rm discography: ‘Change’ (with Wale), 'P.D.D' RM xWarren G, 'Champion' (Remix) - Fall Out Boy ft. RM, 'Strange' - Agust D ft. RM, 'Sexy Nukim' - Balming Tiger ft. RM, 'Don't' - eAeon ft. RM, 'Winter Flower' Younha ft.RM, anything from his first self-titled mixtape - this mixtape was released in 2015 but i love how raw it is and it really encapusulates what namjoon was going through at the time. listening to the mixtape, it feels like a lot of it was him trying to prove himself to the world after being shoved into the kpop world. he has his roots deep in the underground rap scene in korea as he started when he was 13. his playlist, 'mono.' is a masterpiece. it is the polar opposite of his first mixtape and very introrespective. a lot of people call the playlist depressing but imo it is the most healing album i've ever listened to. it's like a friend who sits with you silently in your darkest moments. just a note that these aren't all rap but if you're open to listening to something different, they're here :) you've probably already realised but bascially all of their discography needs extra explanation if you want a deeper understanding as their lyrics are pure insanity at times. a lot of that has to do with namjoon and whatever goes on in his genius mind as you will find him in the majority of credits. as you can tell, namjoon is my bias and i will shut up now, hope it helps!
One of my favorite "genius level" lyrics from RM is in their song Trivia: Love where he says "I'm just a human, but you erode my edges and make me love." In the Korean language the word for a person is 사람, and the word for love is 사랑 ...note the only difference between these is the change from ㅁ to ㅇ. A square to a circle. So the 'edges' of the square in person are eroded into a circle, thereby making it love. 🤯
It would definitely be interesting to see that comparison!! It's always to fun to discover new artists that share similarities to what you're already listening 😁
Great reaction guys. Love this song! I really enjoyed watching all three of those together. Dance practice together with the MVs are great combos too! Have a great weekend 😊
I just found this channel and, shit, I was sleepin. This reaction to Ddaeng is great, with the way you looked at 3 different videos to figure it out. DKDK TV is my one of my fave channels (you should check them out), but David does tend to go long, which I personally love. I have watched all of these so it was cool to see how close your reaction was to my own. Looking forward to going back to see where you started your BTS journey. Shout out to your RM respect, cuz same!!!
