This wasn’t a chart popular song but the fandom is legit obsessed with it. And social messages has been their core thing always from songs like this which educate kids on the true costs of those designer clothes when their parents can’t afford it. The MV is legit a huge favorite because they filmed it themselves while in tour using only their hotel room. I love everything about this one but agree early on Jhope had shorter verses as he was settling more into rapping and writing his own verses but than you for noticing.
Hey guys, nice reaction as always. I think J hope had a shorter part coz this song was earlier in his career and he was still developing his own style. Maybe check out "Airplane pt.2", it's actually a part 2 for J hopes solo song "Airplane" 😊
To answer your question this song isn't as popular as some of their other songs, their title tracks are usually their most popular. This song is a b side, but this is bts so even a b side is still popular 😂 100 of their songs on Spotify have over 100 million streams. Also I agree with that Lupe comment! I love when artists can make 'pop' type songs but with deep meanings ☺️
@@MariaChavez-ey5sr I honestly love their b sides even more than I think most of their title tracks, and I still like the title tracks! Lol oh for sure we'll reach that milestone soon ☺️☺️
There is a MV of Spine Breaker where it was made by all the members when they were in their hotel room in Chile. The entire filming of the MV was so chaotic and fun. Lol. You need to see the making of Spine Breaker MV. The song may sound catchy and humurous but the message behind this song is very relatable snd a much needed reminder for all of us.
You should watch the making of the MV for Spine Breaker and the MV. They made it by themselves at a hotel room. Jin (who is the least of a dancer or choreographer in the group) was in charge of the choreo and they took clothes from their concert tour outfits to wear and JK filmed it etc etc. a lot of fun and silliness. You saw clips of it in the back of the DKDKTV video.
yeah as a jhope biased army i do agree with you about we needing more bars for hobi but jhope also does vocals along with rapping so you can hear him vocalizing in the background, it also differs form song to song in some of the songs as you discover more you'll see him getting more bars. i really like the rapping style of jhope its super different.
Jhope has more parts in songs he heavily participates in composition. Like disease and dionysus. You will see a lot of the later songs have more jhope, specially him doing choruses and what not.
About J-Hope having less time on a song, that is true for their older songs. In the beginning he was treated more like a supporting rapper, because he’s also a great singer and he’s a dance leader so he could do all those things and so RM and Suga were more of a main rappers. Later in their career it changed a bit, and now all the rappers have similar time on a song, but J-Hope also still sings occasionally. Loved the reaction btw! Happy New Year🎉💜
BTS' B sides are still bops! i also love when they create songs with very deep messages and make the choreo ' comical' . i relate about your top 5 BTS songs, as i continually discover their songs ive decided ALL BTS songs are my top 5!! 💜
More Jhope is always necessary! I’ve always loved Jhope but according to my Apple Music Replay, I loved him even more after his Jack In The Box album 😂. I’m so obsessed with it. The old school hip hop and boom bap beats.. . 🫶🏻😍💜 I didn’t even realize Spine Breaker had an explanation video 😅! Thanks for the reaction and Happy New Year! 🎆💜🫰🏻
This song is so f good and I love the message. At that time it wasn't popular and doing well on the charts but Armys are obsessed with that song and it became iconic after BTS created their own MV for this song 2 years later as a part of a challenge in their variety show "Run BTS" and when they were filming that MV, Jin created an iconic choreography lmao. after that, the performance and the vibes or the song are even better 🤣🔥
SUGA is a big fan of Lupe Fiasco so he might've been inspired by his themes. I'm a Lupe fan myself, started listening to him in highschool, way before I was introduced to BTS. I like your Lupe reactions as well!
Has anyone recommend Satoori yet to you guys? It’s another rap song, but they rap in their individual dialects. Thank you for this reaction and Happy New Year!
Tbh, this is one of the earlier songs in bts and jhope is slowly developing his own style of rapping. You can tell how much he improved more and more after listening to a lot of bts songs
I think in the case for jhope in their older songs like this one you rarely got much lines as it relates to rap because in the earlier years they were still finding their sound .. That's what I think . The newer songs from 2018 -present he has way more Bars /verse and it varies from song to song
Happy new year guys! This song is one that is more on the funny side because of its sound but the speak on quite the subject as you saw. They tend to do that on a lot of songs, on that comes to mind rn is "Go Go". ''Spine Breaker'' in particular is a song from their 2nd mini album "Skool Luv Affair" that came out early 2014, so they knew what they were doing early on
I’m enjoying this but thought you gentlemen gonna react to their mv too coz it’s lit they way they spontaneously created it during their tour yet at the hotel thy we’re staying. Looking forward for it 😅 stay blessed 💜 Hpy 2023 wish u both the best of success 🫰🏻
I just knew you guys would love this song. There's a lot to discover and you've just scratched the surface. I recommend listening to DIS-EASE, LOOK HERE, ATTACK ON BANGTAN, PALDOGANGSAN. These are songs with the vibes you guys like.
The way this song has been my alarm clock song for forever. 💜 V's family were farmers and not wealthy. When he was young, his mom saved up to buy an expensive trending red puffer jacket all the kids were wearing bc she didnt want him to be left out and bullied. When he excitedly wore it to school, he learned it was no longer trendy and he got made fun of! He felt guilty his mom spent so much and worked so hard, so he proudly wore it every day anyways. In addition to the explanation video, this song is also a commentary on consumerism, individualism vs collectivism, superficiality, privilege, and hard work.
Spine breaker will ALWAYS be my top 5 😂 It's ironically a funny concept yet very sharp and targeted. btw jhope don't get much verse cuz he's technically the main dancer not the main rapper 😉
Great reaction! BTS' discography has like 250+ songs so I think you need to have listened to at least half of it to be able to make a top 5, maybe even more than half 😂. Looking forward to your next reaction!
north face padded jackets, especially the long ones are about 400-450 in the usa, so in a country where they are in high demand, stands to reason the could go for much more.
Happy NewYear! Thanks for then EOY drop! yay! The band made their own MV and although it was fun, it obviously had a bigger message. All the best to you both this new year! 🎉🎊💜
HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉🎉 I LOVE this track so much. The satirical tone, the references, the wordplay, the sound that has this old school/Tarantino-like vibes. So good!
I would say that you have to keep in mind that prices vary depending on the country. North Face here might be $200, but in another country with less access to the materials used to make said jacket, the price will be a lot higher.
If you didn't react to BTS - Dis-ease please check this song this song also has more lines of j-hope. He wrote most of the song himself and Jimin wrote the bridge part. A few facts about dis-ease : During the global press conference for “BE,” J-Hope said this song started with the idea that every person has their own disease. For him, it was that he couldn't make himself fully enjoy the rest he was forced to take during the pandemic. The song nonetheless finishes with a positive and hopeful message. J-Hope had accidentally shared a snippet of this track during his RU-vid Live in early June. He shared how he came up with the idea for the theme of this track in his Weverse Magazine
I think about that episode of Doug regularly... I used to get so mad when I would wear something for years and all the sudden it was trendy/popular... I would stop wearing it all together. I'm not as worried about all of that now at 40... I like what I like, even if it's the same thing that other people like too...
As a hip hop fan myself, my favorite BTW aong is probably “so 4 more”. The voice there are so raw specially the rapping,, you can hear the difference in RM and SuGa’s rapping.. they sounded more aggressive and streetstyle, .. as what they say.. its always different when your are at the start of your career, struggling to earn money while proving your skills to everyone vs what they are now. Famous and rich..
Huge messages in most songs, this song is very popular among Army and the video is made by BTS members in a hotel room while on tour, very funny.. HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS 🍾🎊🎉💜
I thought it was someone tapping on an old keyboard when the rain started falling... Spine Breaker is one of my favorite songs of their older songs! I'm so happy you reacted to the explanation too!
Happy New year to you both and your families too. BTS have so many bangin songs, it's hard to pick which is the best.😎💜👌 You should check out the MV to this too guys.😎👌
It was earlier on that J-Hope got fewer bars. He was still learning the craft and didn't mind. But he broke out pretty quickly. Especially after he started writing his own songs (around 2015)
The music video for spine breaker was self made by bts.. u can see the snippets of it in background of explained video… the making and the MV complete is HILARIOUS… i would love u guys check it out !!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Nice reaction:) * Auto correct had "Not reaction" lil devil. About the prices we have to remember that some items are imports that may have a high import tax added to the price so where in the US it may be a few hundred there can reach 1000. Also where their trends are sometimes a bit behind so where a popular brand past for us may just now be hitting as a high trend. Happened alot in US for me living in TN I wouldn't get access to thing family said was trending in NYC until months later. You learn not to care and just be you.
Shipping overseas brands I think adds to the cost as well. Lol even ordering bts albums the shipping costs are heart-stopping. I bought indigo and my shipping was the same cost of the album. A couple of my Indian Army friend's were charged est $100 just in shipping alone. So they find other armies in India and split the shipping costs. I imagine that's a similar issue to bring North Face in SK.
It's two years since I become army but m still struggling to find top 5 songs 😂 Their discography is diverse nd huge like they have over 300+ songs so it's hard to find top 5 Btw happy new year guys i wish this year brings lot of happiness nd you'll achieve everything you want 💜
you need to watch the music video for this lol the members made it themselves as a joke on vlive i think, but some random accounts have uploaded it to youtube
you should react to the mv too, bts make the mv themselves. Watch the making first than the mv, trust me you will enjoy it. it's hilarious and you got to see their personality too. This is such fun song it is great at concerts 😁 very playfull 😉 it is b-side that didn't make it big on charts but fans love it. I agree with You about Jhope but it is more in older songs, this is quiet old, and then Jhope still was learning a lot stuff, when you look at cypher series you can see it too, it started with jhope having less line and with earch he got more. But also I think it depends on song vibe, I notice that old songs that have more social aware themes have less jhope and songs that are fun or are about love have him more. But with new songs it is more equal, I think there is a lot of things that decide of it. And for example, If you listen to BTS japanese song you will see that Suga always have the shortest parts no matter of date, bc Suga dosen't really write his parts in japanese, He write in korean and they translate and change them for better flow, or he gets part in songs that is wrote for them, so he is less comfortable with rapping them bc even if he knows japanese it is still different language (speaking is one thing but raping or singing is totally different). Also rappers usually write their parts and then band and producers etc looked at what they got and decide what stay, how much, etc... Soo yeah there is proces to this. Also RM said that how many lines who gets depends on vibe, voice, who fits better, etc, also maybe who write it... But he said they try be fair but it is hard and he said that they are ok with it that sometimes it isn't fair bc in the end most important is that song is the very best version that they can make. Also happy new year 😉✨ I also think you will find a lot of songs that will change your favorite list...
