Yes, that was EL on lead vocals. Believe it or not, his older brother Bobby Debarge, who was the lead singer for the band Switch, had a higher falsetto. RIP to him. You should definitely react to the songs "Love Still Good" and " Iggin Me" by their younger brother, Chico Debarge.

(A late comment ---- as usual.) The reaction was nice. And if you really like the vocal harmonies and emotional sentiment of El Debarge (and his older brother Bobby Debarge from the group SWITCH) on the their slow jams, consider checking out a song by SWITCH called "You and I". ✌️😎

An extra smooth timely reaction 🕰❤! I see 👁👁 that you have reacted to DeBarge before: I Like It, Can’t Get Enough (El DeBarge solo) and Rhythm Of the Night. Time Will Reveal was released as the lead single from DeBarge's 1983 album: In A Special Way. It was written by Bunny DeBarge, El DeBarge and James DeBarge. It was produced by El DeBarge. The song reached #1 on the R&B chart, #12 on the Adult Contemporary chart and #18 on the Hot 100. El DeBarge sang the lead vocals. Trust me, in the 1980s all you had to do was put on some DeBarge with your girl and it was all good 💏🏾. The CW-BET television series 📺: The Game, played the song on its Season 4/Episode 6 "Men In Crisis" (2011). The song has been covered by some artists including 📻: Boyz II Men, Shades, Jed Madela, Kim Waters, Janelle Monáe, Sharon Cuneta, Aaries, Blackstreet and more. Song Credits 📝: El DeBarge- lead vocals, backing vocals James DeBarge- backing vocals Randy DeBarge- backing vocals Mark DeBarge- backing vocals Bunny DeBarge- backing vocals Ricky Lawson- drums Nathan East- bass guitat Paulinho Da Costa- percussion Lyrics 🗒: What can I do? To make you feel secure Remove all your doubts So that you'll know for sure that You're the apple of my eye girl Fulfillment of my dreams Time, will show the value Of just what you mean to me More precious than silver More precious than diamond rings or Anything that I can give you It wouldn't mean a thing If you didn't have my love beside you There to guide you through Well it is good to know you do I know just how you feel But this time love's for real In time it will reveal That special love that's deep inside of us Will all reveal in time I tell you I love you But you won't believe it's true More precious than silver More precious than diamond rings or Anything that I can give you It wouldn't mean a thing If you didn't have my love beside you There to guide you through Well it is good to know you do I know just how you feel But this time love's for real In time it will reveal That special love that's deep inside of us Will all reveal in time I know just how you feel But this time love's for real In time it will reveal That special love that's deep inside of us Will all reveal in time I know just how you feel But this time love's for real In time it will reveal That special love that's deep inside of us Will all reveal in time Oh, that special love in us Will all reveal in time So let you're little heart lay down my body DeBarge Info 📰: DeBarge was a R&B singing group comprised of siblings from the DeBarge family of Detroit, Michigan. They grew up singing in church. The DeBarge's formed as a group in 1980. The group originally consisted of El DeBarge, Mark DeBarge, Randy DeBarge and Bunny DeBarge. James DeBarge joined the group a year later. DeBarge released six studio albums, four of them with Motown Records subsidiary Gordy Records. These albums included: The DeBarges (1981), All This Love (1982), In A Special Way (1983), and Rhythm Of The Night (1985). The group released nine top 40 R&B singles, five top 40 Pop singles, two Pop top 10 hits, five top 10 R&B singles, two #1 R&B singles, one #1 single on the Dance chart, and three #1 hits on the Adult Contemporary chart. In 1980, because of Bobby DeBarge's success with the R&B band Switch, younger brother El DeBarge was able to perform live on the piano and sing for Motown CEO and founder Berry Gordy, who was impressed by the group and agreed to sign them that year. For a year the group worked alongside members of Switch, helping to add background vocals, instrumentation, arranging, and musical and lyrical composition to the band's works, most prominently in the songs: "I Call Your Name", "My Friend In The Sky", and "Love Over And Over Again". By 1981, Bobby DeBarge and Tommy DeBarge had left Switch and returned the favor to their siblings working with them on their debut album: The DeBarges (1981), which was released that year with Bobby DeBarge, Bunny DeBarge, and El DeBarge as the main producers. The album's only single the Bobby DeBarge-led ballad: "What's Your Name", failed to chart. In 1982, they added their brother James DeBarge to the group and worked on their second album: All This Love, produced by El DeBarge and Iris Gordy. The album launched them into R&B stardom with the singles: "I Like It" (#2 R&B, #31 Pop) and "All This Love" (#5 R&B, #17 Pop). Both songs also became crossover Pop hits with the single: "All This Love", later going to number one on the Adult Contemporary chart. The album was certified Gold in the US. In 1983, the group appeared on NBC television special: "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever", where they performed live on stage. Later in 1983, the group issued their third album: In A Special Way, which spawned two further hit singles: "Time Will Reveal" (#1 R&B ,#12 Adult Contemporary, #18 Pop) and "Love Me In A Special Way" (#11 R&B, #45 Pop). The album was certified Gold in the US. Following that album's success, DeBarge was handpicked by Luther Vandross to open for him on his 1983 cross country "Busy Body Tour". James DeBarge made headlines when he secretly eloped with Janet Jackson in 1984, but their marriage was quickly annulled the following year. In late 1984, the group recorded the song: "Rhythm Of The Night", for the 1985 movie soundtrack to the Motown-produced film: Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon. The song became a hit single, eventually reaching the top five in several countries: Canada (#3), New Zealand (#3), US (#3), Netherland (#4),UK (#4) and Australia (#5), becoming the band's biggest-selling and their best-known hit song. The Rhythm Of The Night (1985) album became the band's best-selling work, going Platinum and featuring further hits songs including: "Who's Holding Donna Now" (#1 Adult Contemporary, #2 R&B, #6 Pop) and "You Wear It Well" (#1 Dance, #7 R&B, #46 Pop). After the album ran it's course both El DeBarge and Bunny DeBarge departed from the group after Motown Records offered them lucrative solo deals. Without the powerful harmonies of the brother and sister duo, the rest of the DeBarges' were not considered commercial enough to keep going, and they were dropped from the Motown Records in 1986. In 1987, Bunny DeBarge released her solo album: In Love, and the single: "Save The Best For Me", which failed to chart. The album sales where underwhelming and she was subsequently dropped from Motown Records. She would go on to write two books detailing her life growing up and in the music industry in 2008 and 2023. In 1987, Bobby DeBarge joined the group, and after failing to find a record deal with any of the major labels, the group (still known as DeBarge) signed with the independent record label Striped Horse Records. They released the album: Bad Boys, in 1987. Two singles were released: "Dance All Night", which peaked at #33 on the R&B chart, and the ballad "I Got You Babe", which peaked at #73 on the R&B chart. The album itself failed to chart. It was the group's final album. Legal issues and personal problems, compounded with the changing musical tastes of the public, led to the group's dissolution in 1989, 10 years after its inception. In 1986, El DeBarge released his self-titled debut album, which spawned the hits: "Who's Johnny" (#1 R&B #3 Pop, #10 Dance) and "Love Always" (#7 R&B, #43 Pop). Three years passed, however, until El DeBarge released his second album: Gemini, in 1989. The album had two hit singles: "Real Love" (#8 R&B, #14 Dance) and "Somebody Loves You" (#24 R&B). El DeBarge's record contract with Motown Records was terminated in 1990, and he signed with Warner Bros Records. In the meantime, El DeBarge was featured on the Quincy Jones single: "The Secret Garden" (#1 R&B, #31 Pop), alongside Al B Sure!, James Ingram, and Barry White, released in 1990. In 1991, Randy DeBarge and James DeBarge contributed to a family Gospel album featuring their mother Etterlene DeBarge and younger siblings Darryl "Young" DeBarge and Carol "Peaches" DeBarge, billed as "The DeBarge Family". In 1991, El Debarge was featured on rapper Tone Loc's single: All Through The Night, (#16 R&B, #80 Pop), for which a music video was filmed. In 1992, El DeBarge released his third album: In The Storm, which featured the Chanté Moore duet "You Know What I Like" (#14 R&B), which was Chanté Moore's first professional recording. Critics noted the album for its Marvin Gaye-styled productions. El DeBarge later admitted that Marvin Gaye was a huge influence on his musical style and once commented that he had initially written Debarge's 1982 song: "All This Love", as a song he imagined Marvin Gaye doing; he even imitated Marvin Gaye's ad-libs. He sang on Fourplay's Marvin Gaye cover: "After The Dance" (#2 R&B), as well. El DeBarge's next album: Heart, Mind And Soul (1994), co-produced with Babyface, yielded modest charted singles such as "Slide" (#36 R&B) and "Where Is My Love" (#19 R&B) which featured Babyface on duet vocals. While El DeBarge continued to collaborate on other artists' projects, including those of his brother Chico DeBarge and rapper DJ Quik (1998 "Hand In Hand" #66 R&B), he did not release any more albums between 1994 and 2009. In 2010, he finally emerged from a 16-year album hiatus with the appropriately titled album: Second Chance, released after a series of comeback performances and appearances, including a well received performance at the 2010 BET Awards. The album yielded two singles: "Second Chance" (341 R&B) and the Faith Evans duet "Lay With You" (#20 R&B), and later resulted in three Grammy Award nominations: Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album. ****CONTINUE BELOW****
