James is LL Cool J...and Bad was one of his albums. LL is one of Ems favorite rappers amd he is sticking up for LL and dissing the media/magazines for not giving him credit in the game.

I agree, but there's the point that James isn't as notoriously hated.. James Todd Smith (ll cool j) and his album Bad are a direct reference. Could be coincidental that the best basketball player happens to have the name James.

You guys are too cute together. I think it's awesome that you two are really enjoying Eminem's music and lyrical word play. I remember when slim shady LP came out back in 1999. It was a game changer. I'm an old head lol. lived through the golden age of hip hop and witnessed it's birth. Ever since I was 9 i got my first rap L back in 1982 lol. The album was from grand master flash and the furious 5 and the song on it called "The message". Keep up the great reactions.

I think if LBJ would have fitted the rhyme scheme he would've picked him. But the "James" reference he makes right before the Brady line is about LL Cool J (James Todd Smith), who also got a 2,5 out of 5 review for his BAD (Bigger and Deffer) album back in the days and is now seen as a masterpiece

No need , within the first few seconds listening you capture the emotion the songs is instilling in the listener and it pulls you into the story and then that hook 🔥 with the moral lesson behind the whole song connecting to the title of the song. I fucking love bar heavy songs, but let’s not get lost in the bar heavy journey and forget how quality non bar heavy concept songs can be too!
