This is a marvelous collaboration! The artists involved are major talents in their own right, and the cameo of Randy Travis (despite his inability to perform) was a nod to his contribution to the industry. Thank you for doing this one! All the best for the New Year! Trish
I'm think I'm correct in assuming that 2 of the artists you haven't reacted to are Little Big Town and Ronnie Milsap. Both are great. I would recommend "Boondocks", "Pontoon", and "Girl Crush" by Little Big Town. I would also recommend "Stranger in My House", "Any Day Now" and "What a Difference You've Made in My Life" by Ronnie Milsap.
I read that once George Strait agreed many of the other artists came on board. He truly is respected by his peers. One of the many reasons he is called King George.
I don’t know why exactly that this song makes me absolutely dissolve into tears every damn time, but it does. Every one of those songs and almost every artist shown is a favorite of mine. It just hits me smack dab in the feels.
Two of my favorites are Randy Travis, who is seated and doesn’t sing due to the fact his was stricken by a stroke, and the LATE GREAT Charlie Pride, who we lost a little over a year ago to COVID. Both are worth your time.
This mash-up was the idea of Joseph Khan for CMA's 50th anniversary (2016). He presented this to a bunch of country superstars and they were all hesitant to participate and doubtful about the outcomes but once they found out George Strait said yes, everyone changed their hearts and came on board. The rest is history.

The look on your face everytime you recognized and the times you did not -- amazing. I was born and raised in West Virginia so that one has a special meaning and I am certain that Brad Paisley being first up was no accident as he was from WV as well. Artists in order of their appearance: Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Randy Travis, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Kacey Musgraves, Eric Church, Ronnie Milsap, Charley Pride, Dierks Bentley, Trisha Yearwood, Lady A, Darius Rucker, Martina McBride, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Willie Nelson, Brooks & Dunn, Alabama, Brett Eldredge, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton
Excellent reaction! The first group that you did not recognize it Little Big Town, they have some really good music that you might enjoy, towards the end was Vince Gill and he is a legend in country and bluegrass.
I loved this compilation at the time and still do - the array of stars is amazing - all great with their parts - nice to see Randy Travis even though he couldn’t sing. Yes Green screen - there is a RU-vid video of how they made this.
The only bummer of the whole thing is that all of the song authors could not be there. Unfortunately, John Denver, who wrote Country Roads, is no longer with us. Willie Nelson was there representing On The Road Again, and Dolly Parton was there representing I Will Always Love You.
One very important person you may have missed is the man sitting at the table silently. That is Country legend Randy Travis, who has suffered a stroke and sadly isn't back to singing yet (still praying for that). Also, towards the end, the man with the angel voice singing "I Will Always Love You" that seems to have left you puzzled is The incomparable Vince Gill. This video moves me to tears every single time. Not sure why. Maybe just the beauty of it and so many of my favorite artists on one song...
That was pretty great! There are many more artists to check out because there are many that weren't on this video and sadly some who have passed away. Very cool collaboration!
Have you ever seen the "4 chord" bit by Axis Of Awesome? It's pretty impressive. There's a smattering of language, if that's a concern, but easily edited/muted, I'm sure.
Awww, I love this vid, so much---I had actually thought of recommending it to you, myself, but I thought you haven't reacted to even half of the people on here; so, I was gonna wait 'til you got a little more experience. The first group you missed, was Little Big Town---I missed them, myself, when I first saw this, because there were 3 groups that came-out, fairly close to each other: LBT, Lady Antebellum, and Florida Georgia Line, and I always get them confused with each other! I definitely think you should do another reaction where you name the ones you know---when you do, I watched this several times to make a list of everybody, and I'll post it for you! You're right, it was a massive undertaking to get all these artists, together---if, for no other reason, than because they tour, so much (this was before COVID). Dolly could only come-in at, like, 5: 30 in the morning; so, think of the crew that had to come-in that early, cuz she couldn't make it any other time---and they just couldn't have done this song without her!!
Amazing Wonderful Great I Think this is so Good Like A Piece of Gold This song will go down in History simply Amazing can't say enough about it These different times for country music this is so Good a great Love This So Much 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I like Vince Gill as an artist but to me he really sounded like he didn't fit in here. Maybe it was that he chose to sing so high but it just seemed so out of place. I love his voice though and have done since he was with Pure Prairie League.
What I like the most about you're channel is watching you're eyes come alive when you listen to new artists and songs. I can see that you are a true country fan. Keep up the good work Happy New Year
Country Roads was a song by John Denver, paying a tribute to him. John died in a plane crash. The 4 person group was Little Big Town from Alabama. You would love their songs.
You should check out We Are The World- for Africa...We Are The World for Haiti...Tears Are Not Enough- sung by Canadians for aid...Bandaid - Do They Know It's Christmas....full of song legends.
Love your show & your reactions. Your smile is infectious. You looked like you might not know who the blind man in the sunglasses at the piano was & it was Ronnie MIlsap. Definitely check out his music! Tons of hits to choose from. My personal favorite is 'Stranger in my house'.
My youth group in high school went on a ski trip to West Virginia and we were probably incredibly annoying singing Country Roads as it was the only song we knew that mentioned West Virginia. Hopefully when life gets more normal you can come see a show at the Ryman Auditorium. You can feel the history there. Also a suggestion- God Only Knows by For King and Country with Dolly Parton.
You know they include pretty much every country superstar that isn't dead in this. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that Garth Brooks is not a part of it. Nor I believe is Alabama......... Upon continuing this reaction I see that Alabama IS in this. But no Garth. And also (I'm correct on this one) Dwight Yoakum is missing.
I also missed Big and Rich, Toby Keith, Gretchen Wilson, John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry (or Montgomery, if this was after Gentry died). I realize the first three on this list are considered outlaws.
I'm so glad they gave Randy Travis a place in this song even if he was unable to sing. I loved just seeing him sitting there. His talent and his contribution to country music cannot be overstated. When he came on the scene, country music was dying a slow death. It was being taken over by people who sang under the banner of country music but who were not country... at all. When Randy sang, there was no doubt that he was country, of the same caliber as George Jones and Merle Haggard. I think he saved country music from becoming so watered down that it could perhaps be classified as "pop" music or "American" music but NOT country music. Salute to Randy Travis!
I"ve only in the past couple of months found your channel (summer 2024), and I really do enjoy your reactions. You seem to be a heartfelt, kind person, and to watch you be excited as you explore country music. And it was great to watch you clearly recognizing in this video the artists you've recently discovered. It gave me a true smile!
I just found this reaction.. I'm sure you've probably already figured them all out, but just in case... you seemed puzzled by one male artist. It was Vince Gill. He did a duet with Carrie Underwood when she sang How Great thou Art. I believe you reacted to that one. My favorite song of hers ever. And he is one of my favorite male artist.
Since it's been 2 years since you did this video, I wonder if you reacted to it again, I would be wondering, how many you now recognize. I think you'd be surprised yourself. Hope you go back to this one and watch it again for a reaction. Just a thought.
How they got those 3 songs to mesh so well I'll never know. They are so different. I knew most of the artists that I've listened to for years, but a couple I wasn't sure of. Such an amazing video and as you said, a massive undertaking to get this together.
You said the green screens were for places that don't exist. I think all of the places exist somewhere in the US except the Eiffel Tower. But we even have a few replica's of that as well. Great to see a reaction to this. I have hesitated to recommend to anyone because I thought it would get blocked.
