Hollie Smith recently discovered she has Apache blood, which perhaps explains the olive skin and dark eyes, along with some Dutch and English heritage. She collects tattoos on her body to mark life's turning points: birth, music, protection, growth, life and family. Hollie's a New Zealand soul singer-songwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand. Kiwi alert! Awesome. Seen Hollie Smith live when she opened for Alison Moyet just before Covid here in Auckland, NZ. She is great! You start down the path of New Zealand Polynesian soul vocalists you will be stuck for a while. Smith does Jazz, Blues, Hip-hop, even Celtic.

Mikey always picks such good songs ❤only time I ever heard this song was a girl in my highschool and her sisters singing this at a rehearsal for a play we put on about racial issues throughout history that they wrote. And they invited me to their church and sang this song. It’s putting me in my feels. ❤
