That may be true John was a great drummer but he could not touch Billy Cobham! nobody in the seventies could touch Billy Cobham that man's playing back then in the seventies was beyond this Earth especially when he was playing with the mahavishnu orchestra ! All the rock drummers back then were inspired by him no joke look him up

Part of the movie footage shows them at their homes receiving the message to go on tour. No Quarter means 'no mercy'. Nothing to do with money. John Paul Jones (keyboards and bass) is a band member. LZ did songs that often allowed different members of the band to feature prominently. Robert mentions JPJ because this song strongly features his keyboard skills.

One of their best. Nice guitar solo over keys. "No quarter" is a medieval? term for no mercy in battle, it's a fight to the end, no prisoners taken. "They choose the path where no-one goes... They carry news that must get through, to build a dream for me and you...." The story of the journeys of legendary heroes that have delivered us our present and future... The Battle of Evermore goes with this. LOTR vibe. Yessongs from the band Yes is pretty good and has a LOTR vibe at times, high range singer too.

That was an awesome reaction. I don't know if your questions were answered, but I will give it a try. LZ records their songs with specific lyrics and in a specific way. Jimmy Page produces their music. During live performances, they don't play their songs like they are recorded. The use a lot of improvisation for the music and vocals. The lyrics and adlibs can be different each time they play. John Paul Jones plays organ, piano, and bass, and that was him you heard. Like Jimmy Page he was a studio musician prior to LZ.

I’m sure you know by now that the video is from the one and only Led Zeppelin movie “The song remains the same “ 1976. The concert footage was taken mostly from 1973 concerts at Madison square garden. Iconic performances for sure. Maybe just one concert? I’m not sure. My favorite rock band by far and that has not changed for decades. Loved the Kennedy center honors show in 2012 honoring Led Zeppelin. It was quite a night for zeppelin fans ❤.

Those movie clips from the Led Zeppelin movie “The Song Remains the Same”, which has each member’s fantasy.. What you seeing here is random snippets from that movie. I highly recommend that you watch that movie, which mostly concert footage of performances at Madison Square Garden 1973. The movie was released in 1976 I think. RU-vid has the movie for free.

Zeppelin was a once in a lifetime band AND perhaps still is!!!! You mentioned the drummer, well my dear that is the late, but great John Bonham. Who died after a hard night of partying. His skills are at a different level. As is Plant, the singer. Jimmy Page is on the lead/solo guitar. John Paul Jones usually plays electric bass. But in this one is on the keyboards. Plus he plays the slide/lap guitar.. AND Robert Plant, the singer is a magic man when it comes to vocals. Plant has a darn big vocal range with lots of expression/color!!! I never saw Zeppelin, BUT I did see Plant perform as a solo artists. He still has it!!!!!! Just for you,"No quarter" in battle means NO Mercy!!!! Merry Christmas and please stay SAFE!!!!!! Also for the record ---- There is NO bad Led Zeppelin music, NONE!!!! I enjoy Plant & Page's acoustic work... You should locate and watch them!!!!!!!! Another one is "Four Sticks"!!! The mini video was part of the concert up to that point I can not think of a band ever playing a video while playing live on stage. In the video when you seen Robert picking up the little boy that was his sun. Not to long after that video the little boy died from a bacteria infection. 😭✝️

So many moods in this song. I think someone explained below that the scenes are from a film by LZ - The Song Remains The Same. If you want to see a filmed performance all the way through with the band - here's a link to it from Earls Court 1975 - quite the jam! This performance of this song is from their concert film, The Song Remains The Same. Each member had their ovvn "fantasy sequence". Hovvever, for some reason, vvhomever put this video together used Robert's fantasy sequence instead of John Paul Jones', vvhich is the one that appears in the film, during this song. In the film, Robert Plant's sequence appears during "The Song Remains The Same" & "The Rain Song".

How about a reaction to an often overlooked guitarist who many considered to be the equal to Page? That is the legendary Rory Gallagher. Someone has altered the video aspect of the movie. The guys each had a theme/fantasy sequence filmed that goes with the song they had chosen. This song is John Paul Jones choice, and it's supposed to be his fantasy/theme sequence...but someone has added parts from the other members sequences too, so it's not as it's supposed to be. I don't know why they would do this..."artistic license", trying to skirt the RU-vid copyright algorithms? Who knows? It's best to just buy the Blu Ray disc, and see it as it was intended to be by the band. I saw this in the theatre when it first came out, being a huge fan of the band.

Someone made a bad edited version of this video from Zeppelin's movie the song remains the same! You have to watch the original version of this video from the movie! It shows you everything from the concert with John Paul Jones fantasy scene! And shows Jimmy Page guitar solo! No quarter means you don't give your enemy no mercy during battle!
