Led Zeppelin- 10 Studio Albums, Not One Song Sounds Alike, Not One Bad Song. The Greatest Rock Band in the History of Rock! Keep going…Their biggest influence was the Delta Blues, hint, hint.
One of the myriad of things about Led Zeppelin is they are much more than a “genre” of music. They are a plethora of styles and influences fused by four of the greatest musicians you’ll ever hear. Enjoy the heights of music, in laps of the luxurious Led Zeppelin. ✌️
Hello Peter, I know you are a fellow Zeppelin junkie like myself, I see your comments all the time… so I have to ask if you have been watching the Spanish RU-vidr who goes by JCM? He is producing hours and hours of incredible Led Zeppelin documentaries, I can’t recommend them enough! Here is his channel: youtube.com/@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories
Very well put, Led Zeppelin as far beyond just the rock, genre or rock ‘n’ roll, with the origins in blues, adding such power through this impressive Hall of Fame lineup. It’s mesmerising, please continue your journey start with Led Zeppelin one and work your way through the albums. Led Zeppelin three is a bit of a disappointment, but there are some good tunes in it, especially the immigrant Song, a song about Vikings, that’s right it’s about Vikings
Its progressive rock, its not that frequent so thats why you know you’re hearing Led Zeppelin when you’re hearing it. I would call the band like the grandfather or founder of (good) prog rock.
I'm Generation-X. I was born in the late 70s, and I grew up with my parents' music (classic rock). By the time I was in high school, I noticed EVERYONE my age listened to 70s rock. That's all we listened to besides the rock at the time, like Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, etc. In the parking lot at lunch time, kids were in their cars blasting stuff like Rick Derringer "Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo" and Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc. We also brought back the 70s clothing at the time. I look back at my generation being a fusion of 70s and early 90s. We were and probably still are the ONLY generation who loves their parents' music.
The Beatles, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, The Who, the British Invasion includes these superlative bands. Hip hop? Doesn't even come close. We were definitely well ahead of anything that's playing today. I'm glad to see you are so open to your grandparent's musical excellence. ❤
Gods of rock! No doubt about it,Robert Plant lead vocals, Jimmy Page lead guitar,John Bonham on drums and John Paul Jones on bass/keyboard,four of the most talented musicians were bought together by the alignment of all the planet's and Led Zeppelin were born, they are magnificent!😊❤
@cheriamour2429 it's not even music. The young generation has no music and has no idea what music is. I was born in the late 70s and my generation is the ONLY generation who loves their parents' music and turns it up full blast in the car. We ALL do. High school was like a fusion of the 70s and early 90s.
@@Nichwar19 very big and high on the list, but to be legendary you need something reckognisable in all generations and unfortunately I doubt most younger people would
Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" Live from Celebration day concert. It was their last performance after being apart for almost 30 years. It is a must hear. 20 million people tried to get tickets for the concert Also "Stairway to Heaven" live from Madison Square garden. Both iconic performances.
Zep was high on the Rock mountain until the death of their iconic drummer, John Bonham, and the band decided not to go on without him. Something to keep in mind if you ever watch the Heart tribute at the Kennedy Center.
This is a band that every of the four members, there is an argument that they are the best at what they do; best singer, guitarist, bassist, drummer. Together they are pure power.
Zeppelin did hard rock, blues, folk, prog rock, and even grunge before it was a thing. Almost every song is a change from the previous. In the song you just did was a mix of styles, even a little tip of the hat to old African drumming while Robert Plant actually does an African dance. They really helped pave the way for a lot of the next generation of music.
This band was the begining of classic rock in America in the late 60's and the 70's. The first and the greatest rock band of all time. This song is 50 years old and it still rocks.
@@PGLAMB1978 CCR and the The Doors had a following and of course Pink Floyd is still great but that's why I said it's all a matter of opinion. In my opinion CCR was okay and I can't stand The Doors so it's still my opinion that Zeppelin is the greatest and started a new generation of classic rock. Pink Floyd had too many issues in the early days and still do. But that's classic rock, we will always have a difference of opinion . You won't change my mind and I won't change yours
I'm sixty-eight years old, what led Zeppelin's music first hit the radio it was a shock to our systems, yes there was rock and roll already but this this kind of sound does Zeppelin was putting out has never been heard before
When Led Zeppelin burst onto the music scene in late 1968, they very quickly became the biggest band on the planet. Four master musicians coming together to create an irresistible package. They set the bar so high that few if any could match. Every one wanted what Zeppelin had
@@elishamdgeronimo7125 you're on some good shit haha. led zeppelin didnt need hendrix to die, this band would have eventually made him irrelevant. I mean,im not even a rock guy,i've been heavily into hip hop and reggae my whole life, and jimmi hendrix really does nothing for me when i listen to him sing and play. Now led zeppelin, these fuckers were on another level than hendrix, way ahead of him
My favorite Led Zep song is KASHMIR. I also love FOOL IN THE RAIN and I think you might recognize THE IMMIGRANT SONG. Lotsa iconic songs from this talented ground moving group.
Ok. You should not have stopped it in that midsection jam. It's about a whole lot of love going on there. Also, I stared straight at her face the whole time she was watching this. Her micro expressions are absolutely priceless! I guarantee she had a whole different experience of this song than you did LOL! I love it!! 😂❤😮😊
Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' is one part of my personal triad of ultimate, iconic rock songs of that era. Along with Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and The Eagles' 'Hotel California'.
To see them in concert was one of my greatest memories ever. They are fantastic. They are not studio singers. They are the real deal. I love watching peoples reaction to this band
Great reaction. Just to let you know, Jimmy Page the guitarist in led Zeppelin is considered one of the all time greatest rock guitarists in every poll. He created some of the most iconic guitar riffs in rock history. He also has some great riffs on the acoustic guitar which you can hear on some of their softer songs. Led Zeppelin not only have a lot great songs, they are fantastic live performers. They have amazing stage presence. Therefore it would be great if you reacted to their live performances too. Since I've Been Loving You live Madison Square Garden 1973. Kashmir live at Knebworth 1979.
Kashmir - Live from Celebration Day is Zeppelin in 2007. It features original drummer, John Bohnam’s son, Jason. Y’all will enjoy seeing that They Remain The Greatest!
you've taken a peek into a "rabbit hole" that is so deep you may never be able to climb out. absolute Rock Gods in every since of the word. at their core they are essentially a blues rock band but they masterfully explored and covered pretty much every genre of music. they never made a "bad" song, banger after banger... I'd suggest starting with album 1, side 1, track 1 - "Good Times, Bad Times"
Jimmy Page (guitar, producer) assembled this group to cover his "Yardbirds" show contracts. He scoured England and found Robert Plant (after many other singers were approached...Steve Marriot, Steve Winwood, others). Robert agreed only if Jimmy would hear the drummer of his "Band of Joy" who happened to be John Bonham. He called his studio musician colleague John Paul Jones and within weeks of starting the tour in Scandinavia, their legend started growing. From 1968-1980 this group dominated the airwaves.
"I Can't Quit You, Baby," "How Many More Times," "Rock and Roll," "When the Levee Breaks," and so many more. For their heaviest try their first 4 albums.
This is from their 2nd album.. Their 1st album is GREATness, and eveything on it is worth hearing . Thanks for reacting to Led Zeppelin we'd like to see you do many more 🌺
This was the first Zeppelin song I ever heard. That was late 60s. It's still great music and the rest of this catalog is a lifetime journey packed into too few years before Bonham's death.
The drummer John Bonham, used to live just down the road from me, he grew up in my town and went to the same school as i did. We even have a tribute statue to him in the middle of the town square.
One thing to keep in mind as you take this journey of reacting to music is that you are doing this out of chronological order - like most other music reactors - you listen to an artist from one decade... then another...then another...and so on. So in your mind - you have a mishmash of music / artists. But in reality, the music evolved over time. In a progression. One of the challenges of music reactions is to re-order the music in your own mind. If you listen to Eminem from the early 2000s and then some pop singer from the 80's and then Zeppelin from the early '70s - you might fall into the trap of comparing the artists to each other. You have all of these pieces of music floating around in your mind. You have to create your own mental structure, so that you are seeing the art as it actually evolved. So for instance, if you have already listened to Metallica, then Zeppelin might feel more "timid" by comparison - but in the late '60s and early '70s - when Metallica were still infants - we were just coming through the folksy music of the hippie generation and into the "let's come together" vibe of the early 70's. So when Zeppelin hit - it was like thunder. Almost nobody was making music like this. The guitar riffs and hard drums ushered in a new era of hard rock - all the while pop and disco was fermenting in the dance clubs of the masses. That's why Zeppelin is more loved today than ever - because we all have the benefit of hindsight - and we can see where seismic changes first began. Anyway - just my 2 cents - and i'm enjoying your platform and thanks for posting this one.
I've been a Zeppelin fan since I heard their fantastic first album in the summer of '69, when I was 14 years old. The Beatles will always hold the most special place in my heart, but Zep was a perfect backdrop to my teen years. Whole Lotta Love was their first hit from their 2nd LP, & they've been at the top of the heap ever since. One of my favorite song of theirs is quite different than most, but oh, so much fun, & it's called Hot Dog. Zep's song, Stairway To Heaven, is a rock anthem, one of the greatest songs from the era. I'd advise listening to the studio version for a first time listen, & you should definitely make that happen. In 2012, Led Zeppelin was given tribute at the Kennedy Center Honors on December 2. To help celebrate that honor, the group Heart did an incredible, show-stopping performance of Stairway To Heaven that's another MUST SEE, but know the original first!! The 3 surviving members of Zep were there, & were brought to tears by the remarkable rendition we were all treated to.
Just for the record....back door man doesn’t mean anal sex! It means the guy going out the back, while the husband comes in the front! Drake can’t shine the shoes of Zeppelin. Dude live 1973 MSG. THIS SONG JUST SKIMMED THE SURFACE! This is the band that everyone tried to be that came after them. You have to do them more! Live is even better!
I'm almost 60 years old. This was one of the 1st bands I really liked. One of those moments at 14 years old, saying I'm not in Kansas anymore. Arguably the greatest rock band of all time.
The "freak out" part of song was played in part with a Theramin. It is an instrument that you never actually place your hands on to make a sound. It is the instrument that makes the weird, eerie sounds in old horror movies. It's not hard to figure out what the song is about. It must have blown the minds of people hearing it in the late 60s, especially parents.
I rocked to Led Zeppelin as a teenager. One of very best, all so very talented. No autotune, just raw, amazing sound. I'm 67, never forget their impact. Thanks for the look back!! Note: try Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water, based on a true story about a fire that happened in Montreux Switzerland. One of the catchiest riffs you will ever hear!! Love your show❤
While the musicianship and singing ability are unmatched, what really makes this entire album stand apart from all others is the production quality. You need to remember this was basically recorded in 1969 in the back of a truck. No computers. Just a tape machine and some amps and microphone. I've been listening to this song for 40 years and the clarity and sound effects still amaze me. Jimmy page is an incredible guitarist but his true genius shows as a producer
Yah, 11 years old in '69, lying in bed on a school night in southeastern North Dakota, with my clock radio tuned to WLS am radio out of Chicago, and this comes screaming out of the tinny little clock radio speaker. It was simply captivating. Then, I had the good fortune of hearing it again for the "first time," when my buddy played his brother's Led Zep album with this song for me on a real stereo system, and I could hear all the depth of sound that had been lost inside my clock radio when I'd heard it in my bedroom.
WLS was where I first heard it too. I had already bought their first album the first time I saw it in a store. I did some top tier begging for Mom to give me the money. I love her. But I made sure I had money when I went to the store from then on.
I love your reaction, and the fact that you respond to people's comments. I was fortunate to see Led Zeppelin. It was the Best concert I've ever seen. Keep up the Great content!
Me being from Cuban parents it was funny I didn’t care for the Spanish music. I am 50 years old and was exposed to rock and grew up listening to Led Zeppelin. They are amazing. Jimmy Page is an amazing guitar player. I was so influenced by rock. My parents bought me an electric guitar on my 15th birthday. They are legendary. There’s no other like them. You should listen to Stairway to heaven.
Same here! I'm 26 and mostly grew up on 70s and 80s rock due to my mom (who surprisingly is really into Latin American and Spanish pop ballads of the time, her older sister was the family rocker 🤣) but Led Zeppelin definitely holds a very special place in my heart! It's my turn to be the family rocker older cousin/auntie 🤣🤣 big greetings from Mexico!
I grew up listening this marvelous band! Very famous amongst Venezuelan teenagers, in fact I turned out to be the "rockera" of the family, being Led my fav band ever. Greetings from 🇻🇪
I was 12 years old when my older brother brought home Led Zeppelin album. I fell in love with it, him not so much but six years later, I would end up seeing Led Zeppelin live in 1975 and again in 1977 at the fabulous forum in Los Angeles couple of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll nights of my life. Watch “Stairway to Heaven” live at Madison Square Garden in 1975. That’s the same show I saw in Los Angeles. I really enjoy you guys work. Keep up the great work.
Ok guys. You gotta check out their song In My Time Of Dying when you get a chance. This song is great and popular and all but listen to that one and you'll see why they're one of the greatest rock bands in history.
Since I've Been loving you live at MSG has the greatest guitar work, I have ever seen captures true nature of the band If you are going react to Led Zeppelin this song is a must. The greatest band since Elvis he Was their Idol They were sitting in the front row his daughter recognized them his concert. He knew his daughter was a big fan of them, and also told they were big fans of his. He invited. them Back to his motel Thay talked for hours the blues. All rock was born from the blues. by the end of the night Robert and Elvis were singing together. They both said he was the most humble, man ever. Guess that is why they called him the King
Try since I’ve been loving you off of their Led Zeppelin 3 album or live from Madison square garden 1973. It’s amazing. Nice reaction. I just subscribed. You guys are alright ❤
It’s such a simple riff, but it’s the “groove” and the attitude of it that’s just mindblowing and the epic solo coming out of the psychedelic bit is just perfect. It’s like that foggy interlude right before the solo is teasing the listener, drawing you in, “what’s happening!?”, then BAM…that solo just absolutely explodes. Amazing
This song was on their second album, an album by the way that was written while they were on the road, bits and pieces recorded in whatever and whenever they could get in a studio. Whole Lotta Love was their signature song in their live shows until Stairway To Heaven and Kasmir came along. I saw them in 1977 on their last U.S tour at the Kingdom in Seattle. Just incredible, and I still have the tee-shirt. Keep going with their catalog guys. They defined a generation, in a time when the anthem was sex, drugs and rock n' roll.
To appreciate this music you had to grow up with it as I did. But I'm glad you had the opportunity to listen to it because it will be around a lot longer that either me or you. I KNOW you wish you were either in the crowd listening or on stage making this music. This Music is LEGEND...
Great reaction Sam and Phil! Zep has so many great songs! Gallows Pole, Kashmir, Stairway to Heaven are some that come to mind. The lead singer, Robert Plant, went on as a solo artist and explored many different music genres. In fact he has two collaboratve albums with a fantastic bluegrass singer, Alison Krauss. Their first won several grammies.
We have to give thanks to Keith Moon of the band, The Who for saying, "this band will sink like a Lead Balloon". He said this when Jimmy Page, guitarist is creating new band with Plant, Jones, and Bonham. Page like Lead Balloon comment. He used Led without e, and use Zeppelin (type of Balloon) as band name.
@ Bars & Barbells… Great Reaction, LZ was a very versatile band, masterfully playing Progressive/Experimental Rock, Hard Rock, Blues, and even Folk ( sometimes many genres within the same song)….I saw you crack a bit of a grin, when RP sang the lyrics, “I wanna be your back door man”… The phrase had a much different meaning back in the 70’s. His girlfriend’s husband leaves the house out the front door, and when the coast is clear, he’ll come in through the back door to “meet up”… If you really want to hear a Great LZ hard Blues driven Rock song, IMHO, you should definitely check out a little known LZ gem, entitled, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”, off their 1976 studio album, “Presence” …The song includes an outstanding Robert Plant Harmonica solo….Good Luck Jjh
You should listen to "Kashmir" (Live version from Celebration Day) shows them still kicking ass in one of their last performances. Only downfall is the drummer John Bonham had passed away.
To the unknowing, Led Zeppelin lives in the top floor of the Earthly Pantheon because no entity from the beginning of time till the present has ever crossed over demonstrating the infinite passionate realm that lives far beyond the moment, showing us a glimpse of the forever nature of that beyond!
I've seen most of Led Zeppelin's live performances on video. I feel their performance of Since I've Been Loving You, Madison Square Garden 1973 is the best.
