Yeah there was a lot of this in show business in general back in the day (not sure if it still occurs) . There were naturally some women who were really good singers, but they didn't meet the executives' strict standards of beauty, so they would have these actesses (who were sometimes singers in their own right) lip sync over the better singers because they didn't care about either of them as people. They were just commoditizing aspects of their physical being. It was pretty demeaning to both women in each case.
While in concert he would take Patti Russo to sing that part of the woman in this Video. I dearly love this song and believe Meatloaf was indeed in his own class/genre.

One of my first real girlfriends took me to a midnight viewing of the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW...I had no clue about it, seeing the audience participation, and the spray bottles and newspapers was awesome. Wish I could relive that night again.

He was in "The rocky Horror Picture Show", Several TV appearances in commercials and shows like "House" and the "Outer Limits", with Patrick Swayze in "The Black Dog" and as Big Bob in "Fight Club" The woman in the video is a model they used for the video. The actual vocalist is Lorraine Crosby who worked with Jim Steinman and Meatloaf throughout the album Bat Out Of Hell II. She has also done some solo work, TV appearances, and backing vocals for Bonnie Tyler. On the Album, she is originally credited as Ms. Loud.

@Erika Forbes That wasn't the case. She wasn't used in the video because Michael Bay went for a beauty and the beast theme and she wasn't deemed pretty enough. She was asked why she wasn't in the video when she was on a UK tv show, where she is from, and said she didn't know why. But no offence to the lady, she just wasn't pretty enough. Plus she was a stand in for another singer who couldn't make it.
Meat Loaf first gig was playing Eddie, the bad boy biker in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was writing his Bat out of Hell album, arguably his biggest when he got the part as Eddie. He's not only a rocker but also an actor and though he may not admit it, he's a psychic who has done investigations with Paranormal groups.

Ohhh man i love Meatloaf i grew up on his music....He actually created a genre all by himself :). My sister made me love Meatloaf back in the 80´s and we live in Sweden lol. She saw Meaty live too i envy her for that i cant remember were she saw him but i know she traveled to USA alot back then. Its insane how the world change

Meat had to borrow like 40,000 dollars to make the album and then no one wanted to release it. But, once Epic Records picked it up it was a smash hit. To this day that album has sold over 50 million copies. it is one of best selling albums of all time and still remains on the top 500 albums list. The woman who sings in this with him is Lorraine Crosby. She is an English singer and songwriter. Meat loves the theater, that is where he got his start, on Broadway in the musical Hair, so he is very theatrical in his tours and in his videos from the 80's and 90's like this one. And yes, this was his version of Beauty and the beast.

The girl in the video who did not sing she only mimed to the track is Danica (Dana) Patrick she is also know more for IndyCar these days. She retired from racing in 2018 and is the only female driver to have won an Indycar Series Race. She raced in a lot of other formulas of racing.
