George Harrison prophetically said: " The Beatles will exist WITHOUT us. " Over fifty years after they disbanded, new fans discover their magical energy.

and to think they were still in their 20's when they broke up. They hadn't even turned 30 - think about that. 13 albums over 250 songs recorded - in 7 years. Astonishing.

The fuzz guitars and distortion were not typical back in the day. 1968 was an amazing time for music, especially for The Beatles.

Don't be sad they are gone now. Be happy and grateful we had them and their music is still available for those who haven't discovered their true musical genius. I am 75 and I count them as one of my life's greatest gifts. I truly hope you can end up seeing them as a gift from my generation to yours. I envy you discovering them for the first time.

As one who grew up with the Beatles, the Stones, CSN & Y, Led Zeppelin, and so many more - I am truly happy to see you diving in to those musicians and that era - so much good music that should live on and on. The Beatles grew and changed over the years, but always gave us amazing music. sorry to hear about your eye, I wondered where you had been - hope you feel better soon - eyes heal quickly!

Get well soon! The Beatles came from outer space and changed music forever! That's what it seems now in relation to how little music changes these days.

Yes, I feel the sadness. The Beatles really were part of my life. Millions feel just like me. I remember the moments of my life when first hearing certain Beatles songs. The Beatles accomplished everything in 6 years! Isn’t that mind blowing? To your point about living life.

We appreciate you not only because you are fun and entertaining, but you are perceptive and sensitive. Just like the lads here. ("But if you go carryin' pictures of Chairman Mao, you're not going to make it with anyone anyhow".) I really enjoy seeing young people digging the music I grew up with, and yes, it is bittersweet and often provokes tears hearing these songs after a lifetime. This number is not country but a blues shuffle with a few twists. Very wise of you to recognize that all of us will leave this life someday, time is precious, use it to study an instrument or read or write or paint, we have a duty to be a good steward of our gifts, what would you do today if you knew you were to pass tomorrow? Great reaction, Peace of Christ.

I was a tad too young when they exploded across the globe in 1964 - though I DID watch them live on Ed Sullivan. Just 3 years later the “Summer of Love” 1967 -which could have been called the “Summer of Sgt Pepper”! - I was 13, fell hard for them and never looked back ✊🏽 Everyone listened to that album a million times, it was EVERYWHERE and at every party, we learned every note without trying. Always go for their live versions first like this one, it shows they really could rock hard when they wanted to, but that’s only one genre out of the countless they could write and play and record. Their studio production was ALWAYS state of the art and innovative; other musicians, other bands, were continuously being shocked by their work. It’s impossible to describe how much they meant to us, their music was what it FELT LIKE to be alive and young at the time: sometimes we didn’t even realise it til we heard it 😳 The Beatles really were about joy, awareness, and yes: love. Nietzsche wrote “Without love, there is no art.” And you’re right about the passage of time. The thing about being over 65 is you CAN’T BELIEVE you’re over 65 😆 even though we know exactly how we got here. It just makes you realise how FLEETING time really, truly is: I do not fear death, I just can’t stand that I won’t always be here to enjoy all this beauty - very much including people. ❤

The Beatles White Album to me is a tribute to their great talent...first its a two album set filled with nearly every genre of music...pop, country, classical, rock, blues, almost every style of music and all done very well...they transformed music and we are all better for it.

I think it's really awesome that you are being able to experience the Beatles on this level. It's great. Sometime check out Hey Bulldog, a fan favorite, and it's both serious and funny at the same time. And very piano-driven, with John Lennon taking the lead.

this song was the b-side to the 'hey jude" single. the beatles basically created the "double a-sided" single. there's actually three versions of this song. ("revolution 9" off the white album has no relation to this song.) 1) there's the spead up single version. 2) there's the slowed down, "shooby-do-wop" version off the white album called "revolution 1." 3) there's the video version, seen here, which is like the single version with the "shooby-do-wops" added. there'll never be another social phenomon and musical talent like the beatles. thanks for the video.

This live in studio version is one of three different versions recorded by the Beatles. Aside from this video version, there is the single hit version. And on the White Album, a laid back version which is slower appears as Revolution 1. None of these versions have any association to Revolution 9 from the White Album😮😊! Beatles/If I Fell

This song sounds good an all, but the real beauty of it is its message. It is using the mosic of the times, the music that most at the time considered to be revolutionary, to be anti-revolution. Listen to the lyrics, You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all wanna change the world You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know We all wanna change the world [Pre-Chorus] But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out? [Chorus] Don't you know it's gonna be alright? Alright Alright

What most people fail to recognize about this song is that it's not a call to arms, but a cautionary one. "But if you go carryin' pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow." We all want social change, but violence isn't the answer.

I totally get the emotions of your reaction, Ace. We went through this reaction with a series of shocks . . .their acrimonious and public breakup in 1970, the terrible murder of John Lennon (the lead singer in this song), George Harrison (the guitarist in the red shirt) being stabbed nearly 40 times by a knife wielding madman in his own home before his mother in law came up from behind and smashed a potted plant over the assailant's head, saving George's life. However, then George later developed cancer, and this attack likely affected his body's ability to fight it; he passed away from cancer in November 2001. All we are left with is the 81 year old Paul McCartney and the 82 year old Ringo Starr. If you find this emotional, I'm afraid you'll completely lose it should you ever choose to react to what I call the Beatles "curtain call", "Now And Then", a virtual Beatles song using a cassette demo recorded by John Lennon, which was released in November '23. I cry every time I watch this video. A long winded way of saying I get you.

Remember, before 1979, THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS MUSIC VIDEOS. Everything you see from The Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, ect.. Is all either "fan made " videos decades after the music was made (with no input or knowledge from the artists) Or pieced together concert footage, and television appearances on variety shows. The only exemption are some "tour promotion" FILMS sent out for advertising of upcoming tours.

You can see George, (in the beginning of the song) turn to Paul and say "John's mic is Shit!" Comenting on the sound of the very first rock recording done straight to the mixing board instead of ambience recording in the studio. The sound was so overpowered it is naturally distorted.

They were around your age in this video.. John was just 16 and Paul was 15 when they first met, at a local Church Fete where John was performing with his makeshift skiffle group, the Quarrymen. They chatted afterwards and Paul borrowed a guitar and played a song called 20 Flight Rock, and John was impressed. (Paul could not only play it well, but he knew all the lyrics, back when there was no internet to look them up.) Paul joined John's band soon after, and the rest is history... Here's John and his group playing at that 'fateful' Fete: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OcBdyjJW54Y.html

This live set is fun but not quite as good as the released version, which i believe was the B side if the Hey Jude single. There's another version on the white album titled Revolution 1. Its the same song slowed down to more if a bouncy, doo-wop kind of sound. Its great too. Not quite as great as the single version though.

It's not a standard 12-bar blues, but has some clever twists/variations, the type at which Lennon in particular, imo, excelled. Passion is not insignificant either. Their early days in Hamburg playing ridiculously strenuous, lengthy shows molded them into a lean, mean rock'n'roll machine, another item in their toolkit.
