Saw them do this live in 1974. They were the first act and Eagles were the second act. The Doobie Brothers were the headliners, but the crowd was already burned out when the Doobies got on stage because the first two acts were so good. And the tickets were $4.50. Good times in the 70s.

It was originally about a drug dealer that the band knew, but at their manager’s suggestion the band changed the lyrics to be about a reclusive girl. I'm in my sixties now, but "It'll shine when it shines" is still one of my 20 favourite albums of all time. And I hear a lot of different music. The top comment on RU-vid about this song, especially the live version from BBC, is "I thought it was a chick singing!" Drummer Larry Lee wrote and sang this, and he does have a high falsetto voice. He also wrote the more pop-oriented numbers, although he could write country-rock as well as his bandmates. OMD didn't have a lot of huge hits, but there are great songs of theirs to check out such as Country Girl, Beauty In The River, You Made It Right, Walkin' Down The Road and their big live favourite Chicken Train.

Another great song by them is called "Walkin Down The Road". A very fun "bluesy sounding" song. It is my favorite by them.

"Standing on the Rock" was also quite popular and we can't forget 'Chicken Train'. Definitely can't put Ozark Mountain Daredevils in just one box when it comes to their music style.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils was the first band I ever saw in concert. I was accompanied by a friend who was quite good looking. To make a long story short, a band member spotted us dancing and invited her to join the band after the show. I was her ride so I found myself at the Ramada Inn in Grand Junction, Colorado, having drinks with some of band and watching SNL. Pretty sure it was 1976 or 1977. Apparently they asked my friend if she wanted to travel with them. She turned them down.

Another great video. Y'all are so awesome! I have a special request for you both to review and react to Bob Welch "Ebony Eyes" . He's a former member of the early Fleetwood Mac. Please and thank you Jay and Amber!! 🎉😊

This was such a big hit back in the day, for some reason you don't seem to hear as much these days. It's a great track by this great band.

Caught this Band in 72. They opened for Black Oak Arkanas. Virginia Beach Civic Center. Pillow on the floor concert. Cover: $3. Those days are long gone! 😊

Never knew how much my kids listen to my music until I took my daughter who was probably 5 or 6 years old to see them in ozark missouri dancing in the isle and singing every word to every song.

Their albums lean toward country rock and folk, but "Jackie Blue" is also very soulful. The band never conformed to one genre of music. Their members were fairly well-rounded musically. "Jackie Blue" was a monstrous hit in the spring of 1975. Radio was still playing it during that summer, too!

Great video love this song! In case you weren't aware, Willie Nelson is on his farewell tour. Pretty sure it started a couple months ago so he may have past your way already. But if not, then you definitely need to do everything you can to go see the legend before he's gone.

I've loved this one since it was first released. I was 29 in 1974, I turned 78 yesterday! Still listening 49 years later, still lovin' it. The 70s has that effect on people.

You can find a copy of them performing Jackie Blue on The Old Grey Whistle Test. The drummer is the singer of this song. Also, this past year, one of the members of the band appeared as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune.
