"Awaken" is the best song on this album (let's face it - it's hard to surpass!), but Turn of the Century is a close second. It's a gorgeous soundscape painted with delicacy of feeling, dreamy and infused with passion - and such an uplifting climax.

Yeah, it´s a looong build up, and the finale is so powerful. I´ve heard the demo of the song and I can´t believe how they came up with this arrangement eventually. This is a monumental piece of music. I would say it´s as good as Awaken, just different. The whole album is a masterpiece.

It's amazing how a 5 piece band can sound like an orchestra at times. Steve Howe, Rick Wakeman and Chris Squire were all virtuoso musicians. And Chris Squire's bass can sound so delicate when he uses it in songs like this. "Turn of the Century" is one of my all time Yes favs. This band changed my life in so many ways. Jon Anderson is a very spiritual man and this reflects in all of his lyrics. Thank you for reacting to this. It made my day! 😍

Meaning of the song is about the famous French Sculptor Auguste Rodin who is famous for Sculpting "The Thinker" loss his wife, Rose Beuret ,. She dies and he sculpts out her image out of clay, to capture her presence. It's a romantic love song that is inclusive about everyone or anyone who has or is Love and loss that Loved one and reminisces about the great moments of their lives before the death occurred

Music from another galaxy, this masterpiece is in my top 3 Yes songs. Mr. Brandon, I don't know if you know that there was a band called GTR (guitar) that in 1986 released their (unfortunately) only album, this band was founded by two "unknown" guitarists, Steve Hackett and Steve Howe. Who says... one day, you meet them, the FANTASTIC song "The Hunter" would be a great starting point.

This song along with "Wonderous Stories" and "Going For The One" are my three personal highlights of the album. "Turn Of The Century" is so filigree, so delicate and seems incredibly... fragile. You are afraid that just listening to the song could break it into a thousand sparkling pieces. Very nice. In contrast to groups like Genesis, Yes has followed its path relatively consistently. At least including the album "Tormato". After all, they tried to keep their level as much as possible. A certain creative decline is undeniable, but after almost ten years of work it is not so surprising.

Originally, on the European continent, this musical genre was called: Artrock. When we listen to the compositions of YES, this appellation seems even more accurate to us than progrock so much we are at the border of classical aesthetics. Heavenly! "Tony Banks will be one of my biggest musical idols for the rest of my life", did you reply to a previous comment? And Rick Wakeman, what about it? I make a joke, a wink😉, don't worry. For my part and my main instrumental interest, a bewitching triad: Steve Howe (Gibson), David Gilmour (Fender Strato), Stevie Ray Vaughan (Fender Strato). Obviously, we don't suffer from vertigo... but, on the other hand, such a choice of references forces us to be humble. Thanks Brandon. [NB: Watching Howe's fingering, bend and fretboard glide up close is an experience in itself.]

Hello Jose! That's awesome. I just picked Yes by chance last night, so glad I did. I knew in advance that this song would be beyond beautiful...Thanks for suggesting it and being first here today! 🥇
