Chris is pretty much his own genre 😂 he can do country, blues, soul, bluegrass, rock, Americana...he's really something special 🥰 what's crazy is he's even better live. 'Cold' live at the CMAS...highly recommended 😊
Just saw him in Atlanta! I’m not a big country fan. Chris Stapleton is in his own genre. He is more blues and just straight soul. You can feel it to your bones. It was one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen and I’ve been to many, many concerts in my life! His wife is amazing also. Thanks to her, he is singing on stage and putting out amazing albums on his own. He was just writing for everyone else for years. She talked him into singing his songs and performing. Great reaction!
New favorite of mine is Death Row, Chris nails it every time he opens his mouth the sing. Also find the Prince Tribute he covers...he can sing anything!
If this was your 1st country song in a few decades, this set a really high bar for others to follow. He writes some amazing songs, for himself, and others. If a song could be sued for child support... this one would set a record!
Welcome to Chris Stapleton stank face, he's amazing you know I was raised that country was the white man's blues and the blues was the black man's country...to me its all just great flipping music. Great reaction my friend you just won a new subscriber. I like when reactions go outside the reactors comfort zone. Thumbs up babe.
He is the one who is playing the guitar, and he is a wonderful singer. Yes he is a great singer. You don't know what you are missing when you have not heard him singing.
Yes, he always does this and even more. Try his songs "Cold", "sometimes I cry", "I was wrong", ""Nothing Else Matters" or literally anything else he does.
The first country music concert I ever attended was Chris Stapleton. It just so happen that he was playing in A.C. NJ so me and my wife said what the heck, let’s go. Best concert I ever went to! He’s was amazing!!
I used this song to introduce my lovely black wife to country music about 6 years ago. Before this she turned her nose up at country. Now she's more open minded thanks to Mr Chris Stapleton. And we do get our drink on to this song on a regular basis.
Chris Stapleton was from the steal drivers, of a genre called outlaw country, with people like Sierra Ferrell ( in dreams) , lost dog street band ( using again), colter wall ( the devil wears a suit and tie)and the Bandit Queen ( caroline ) all can be found on the Gems RU-vid channel.
He ALWAYS does sound this. He sounds better live. Try this song live at Austin City Limits ... same song, bit of a different vibe. Try, "Cold" live at the 2021 CMAs next.
I love watching Black people react to Chris Stapleton for the first time! Yes, Chris DOES sound like a brother! Your reaction is one of the best I've seen. Made me want to watch more of your videos.
Chris is unique undoubtedly.... totally different is a gentleman by the name of Lou Rawls..his song "You'll never find.".. Love ur reactions...God bless you
Your the first guy who hit the nail on the head. It’s an old country song first done by George jones. Chris took it and did it as a blues song. He sang around Lexington Ky in a blues band before going out in his own. He’s a great blues singer.
There is no one better at this style of music he's been around for years won many country music awards you can try Brooks and Dunn I believe that is a good one from the country sound also
Check out It’s a man’s world by James Brown. In almost 60 years of following music Chris is the first musician to give me the chills whenever I hear any of his songs.
Hey Dude, enjoyed watching you and your different facial expressions listening to "Tennesse Whisky" Chris is definitely a smooth singer with his husky sexy voice. Bloody awesome✌✌✌✌
If you’ve not watched Chris on Austin City Limits live, where he’s singing to his wife, who is singing back up, then you truly need to. Live will make you like him even more, & you’ll see that the lead guitar is him playing. He’s is very talented.🎼🎸🎵
In your search for more that sounds like Stapleton, you’re gonna probably have to listen to more Stapleton (I was Wrong and Broken Halos are 2 of my faves of his). Other than that, you’re gonna need to dig into southern classic rock and blues for more that sounds anything like him… Lynyrd Skynyrd for the southern rock, for starters…
Love your comments during the video Boss. So damn true… you literally feel like you’re in a dive bar sipping that whiskey! Gotta love a white boy that can sing them blues. Thank u lord for raising me In church and raising me with my neighbors so I can enjoy blues and real soul!!
I grew up with Garth, Alan, and King George.. my Pop-Pop raised me on George Jones, Cash, Twitty... Chris does country with so much soul... It's a different kinda country but it's amazing.
Welcome to the Chris Stapleton rabbit hole! He has written for lots of famous people and he has tons of songs he's done. Please try “I Was Wrong, “Sometimes I Cry” “Amanda” “What Are You Listening to?” Starting Over, Fire Away, Cold, Either Way, Death Row.
Love Chris Stapleton he a great singer musican writer. You have to listen to Cold at the CMA . Or I was wrong. He doesn't have a bad song. This man has soul and he gets into your soul. Love.you keep up all your great work ❤️
Chris Stapleton is Memphis Blues. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s by African-Americans from roots in African-American work songs and spirituals. Blues incorporated spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts, chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The blues form, ubiquitous in jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll, is characterized by the call-and-response pattern, the blues scale and specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues is the most common. Blue notes (or "worried notes"), usually thirds, fifths or sevenths flattened in pitch, are also an essential part of the sound. Blues shuffles or walking bass reinforce the trance-like rhythm and form a repetitive effect known as the groove.
Southern REBEL is absolutely right!!! The Austin City Limits performance is LEGENDARY!!!! A MUST WATCH!!!🎶🎼🎵🎧🎹🎙🥁🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Just do more Chris Stapleton songs....try "Fire Away" (warning..tear jerker)!!!!
Although Chris didn’t write this he is amazing at writing and singing. He does suffer from stage fright so you will see him Looking at his wife, he only started getting on stage because his wife requested it, so you see him look at her or close his eyes, so he doesn’t see the audience because he has stage three amazing harmony between those two
I have yet to find a bad Chris Stapleton song. He has many, many hits. A few must listens: Death Row, Either Way, I Was Wrong, Cold, Fire Away, Whiskey and You, and Sometimes I Cry. His wife is a for-real angel (Pretty sure about that) who sings background (But Chris always has her stage front when performing live, where she belongs!). Check her out on a tune entitled Amanda to get an idea of the relationship..... it is beautiful! Great reaction, TY.
This will take you down a fun, and fantastic, road. Edit.... Try some Lynard Skynard... They are the best of southern rock... A blend of rock and country. They are epic, and another mind changer.
This song is more Memphis blues than country. Love this song, and your reaction is priceless! Also, you should hear him sing James Brown's It's a Man's World.
His live performances are the best. Fire Away- must be the official video version. Moving, emotional - bring your tissues. Also, he did a cover of A Man's World by James Brown which was excellent. Not his band, they asked him to come up from the audience, cold, & he nailed it. If you like rock & roll listen to Blow, w/ Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars & Chris. I prefer their version vs. the one the ladies perform. You're in the rabbit hole now I think...
There is no other country that sounds like this well as far as male vocalists. There are some female vocalists that get fairly close but still not to Chris’s level. Chris has a ton of blues, southern rock, and classic country influence in his style. As crazy good as he is on the album version his live work is substantially better. Chris is definitely one of a kind.
💕💕💕******************SMOOTH, BLUESY, R&B, SOUTHERN COUNTRY****************** 💕💕💕 Fun Fact, Country music used to be called “country rhythm and blues”. 🥰 Loved your reaction, new subscriber!!!
Just a heads up...Home Free is an A cappella group, and so incredibly talented it's sick! While they may lean towards Country, they cover pretty much all genres, and once you hear one song....you gotta hear them all! It's crazy what they do without a single instrument...
