Lol, my man Chris. I have been listening to Chris for over 12 years. There is NO! Genre his voice won't cover. LOL, he is the absolute perfect stereotype breaker... Trust me, there's a big difference between racism and cultural confusion. Chris is just the tool that we have needed to prove it. He does soul, he does r&b, he does country, he does rock, he does bluegrass,... Check it all out.

First Off Etta James never sang or recorded Tennessee Whiskey. Her hit that sounds a lot like it is I'd Rather Go Blind.... David Allen Coe was the first to record the song in 1981 co written by Dean Dillon. It was first offered to George Straight but he turned it down. George Jones recorded the song in 1983 and it was in the top 15 music charts. Chris Stapleton brought it to a number one hit in 2015 with his bluesy rendition. The song has been covered many times but not many actual recordings. Other than David Allen Coe, George Jones and Chris Stapleton.

Etta, Gladys Knight and Jackie Wilson are three of my favorite R&B singers of all time..I'm a white woman in my 70's and think it's wonderful young folks are broadening their music genre's discovering past iconic singer and performers to continue passing it on to the next generation not to be lost in time.

Chris comes from a genre called outlaw country, he was with the steel drivers, other amazing artists from that genre is Colter Wall ( Devil wears a suit and tie) Benjamin Tod ( using again) Sierra Ferrell ( in dreams) all are on the RU-vid channel Gems. The bandit Queen ( caroline) all are worth watching. Colter and Benjamin Tod “ lost dog street band. Will drop a thousand sub on you fast.
