ATLANTIC, PLEASE. SO STUNNING, his voice is enchanting, but you can hear the grief and the mourning in it. The lyrics are heartbreaking and tragic, but still pretty, relatable, and touching. It's just a fvcking BEAUTIFUL song. He often cries when he performs it. I was lucky to see it live, and seeing Sleep Token live was like a religious or spiritual experience. So yeah. If you wanna cry, Atlantic. Also, Blood Sport (from the room below), Missing Limbs, and Take Aim are worth a listen. Bring tissues. Worship 🙏🏻✨️
I had the privilege to see Sleep Token last weekend here in Austin and at Aftershock last October. In my opinion their recorded material doesn't even come close to their live sound. The light show in Austin was unbelievable. Chokehold was so good my knees buckled when it ended and I almost fell over when it ended. I have never experienced a show where every song was great, and I've seen tool many times. It was perfect. Also the crowd was great. I have played drums consistently for the last 31 years and II is easily one of the best rock drummers alive.
Hat guy listening to 'The Summoning': It's a no from me. I am sleeping on Sleep Token. Hat guy, 3 songs later drawing hearts around a picture of Vessel: Worship, my king. Please get him to listen to 'Give' or 'Sugar'. They won't make you teary eyed but you'll get wet all the same.
It's not A Capella, but check out the live cover of Hallelujah. Yoi can hear Vessel cry or almost cry, which makes it the saddest song sung by him for me. His voice is absolute magic, maybe even more so live 😢
YES I havent seen anyone mention Take Aim yet. It's so beautiful. I get up early in the mornings because I have to get the train to college, so now that its spring/summer I love putting on Take Aim and everything just feels profound and precious
I've definitely seen grown men cry to several songs. Too many make me cry - hell, The Apparition makes me cry when he says "just let me go or take me with you." Other songs which have tipped me over the edge: Bloodsport (From the Room Below), Atlantic, Fall For Me (the video contains messages as well and should be watched at the same time), Take Aim, Missing Limbs (best version IMO is the live performance at a show called From The Room Below in Lafayette in 2022; there are a few fan videos), Levitate, Are you Really Okay, Is It Really You? (this is a cover of the original by Loathe, and it's not really sad, but Vessel's voice is so beautiful that it will bring tears to your eyes). I know that's a long list, but ST are, after all, the Kings of Sad Songs.
Fall for Me Bloodsport (from the room below) The Way That You Were Theres also a really good vid from a recent concert where he played Missing Limbs with just him voice and his guitar. Worth checking out.
Nice reaction! This may be one of my favorites and that’s saying a lot. You should check out Gods. Starts a little different. 😈 For acapella check out Fall For Me. Definitely makes me cry. Go for the official video. Adds a whole other level. But I agree with another comment. Blood Sport from the room below. Chills!
'Fall for Me' will always be my favourite Sleep Token song. The video is so raw and vulnerable. The closest Vessel has ever got to dropping the mask (Calcutta still has the paint) - even taking it off at his piano during a live at the Lafayette in London. The trust he had in the audience is heart-warming.
Loving this journey for you guys! Keep going with the ‘Take me back to Eden’ album but avoid Euclid. If you plan on going to the other albums then Euclid will have a great cherry on top. Chokehold or are you really okay would be my next picks.
I knew if you gave them a chance you’d love them. They don’t have a bad song no matter what you listen to, there isn’t a bad one. This happens to be one of my favs along with telomeres You need to watch Fall For Me for an emotional one for sure, Are You ReallyOk? and Bloodsport
The songs that have made me cry are Atlantic and High Water. Atlantic is probably the saddest song I've ever heard but High Water really hits home for me. And maybe not as sad for me but a lot of people mention Blood Sport (both acoustic and studio are good but I think I'm in the minority when I say I like the studio version better but that is bc of the drum parts haha) this one hits a lot of people but I don't relate to it but I can feel the emotion anyway, same with Missing Limbs.
The drummer did a drumeo where he pretty much said the vocals are the focal point and he writes around and through them. It’s def not a way I’ve ever heard of a band writing music. You guys should watch it even if it’s not a reaction
