My favorite music also came from the late 60 especially psychedelic. One of the greatest psychedelic rock songs was You keep me Hanging On by Vanilla Fudge in 68 I hope you consider reacting to it. It's FIRE.
Love Traffic! Steve Windwood is one of the best musicians of the last 60 years. He's still active, and still Awesome... If you haven't already, you should check out "Can't find my way home" by Blind Faith. Another band with Mr. Windwood, Eric Clapton, Ric Grech, and Ginger Baker.
Maaaan, back in the day, I would get melted, slap some albums like this on the stereo, and just let them play one after the other as I sat on my front porch and watched the world go by. Every so often, being an inanimate object, listening to great music is a great way to spend the day. Always remember: Be Kind (to yourself) - Unwind.
Man, this was a seminal song in Rock History and Steve Winwood once again, is at the center of a another classic song and band, the amazing Traffic. You can't go wrong with a tune from them, they had some remarkable stuff back in the late 60s - early 70s. If you have not heard it, do Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. Like the song you just reacted to, there are amazing live versions of these live in 1972, video worth finding. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
There will never be a band like Traffic again. Prog rock, rock, jazz, funk, blues, folk, psychedelic, soul, they were driven by the music and doing the music they wanted to do and not what was considered to be popular at the time. Excellent musicians all, with Steve Winwood (a talented multi-instrumentalist) doing most of the vocals. A great journey of music exploration if you choose to dive deeper into Traffic.
This song was played in the Marvel movie during opening credit scene and it almost made me emotional as it fit so well and set a great vibe!. Classic and great choice of song from marvel to kick off the final chapter of their phase
This brings me back to when I was in college in the mid 70's. We were broke so we often spent Saturday night sitting around a listening to music on vinyl like this.
LOL...yeah T don't be doubtin me! 😜 I'm glad y'all enjoyed it. It's so classic it's a little before my time so I just discovered it recently & loved it the first time I heard it. Steve Winwood never disappoints!
Hey Connie, if you want to hear a nice bit of '60s heavy psychedelia, see if you can find Baby Grandmothers, and their song "Somebody Keeps Calling My Name"
Seve Winwood has been in several bands and has hit songs with all of them: Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, and Traffic (Dave Mason played along side of him in this band). I liked him best with Traffic. Have seen him twice, live, and waiting on the third time! Some must-listen suggestions: Low Spark of High Heeled Boys (My favorite), Dear Mr Fantasy, While You See A Chance, Gimme Some Lovin, Valerie, Higher Love, Can't Find My Way Home, Back In the High Life Again, and Roll With It are just a few. Good friends with Elton John who has spent much effort in promoting this artist..... and rightly so. Inducted into the R&R HOF in 2004 as a member of Traffic. Great reaction, TY
The oldest recording of this on film, is in black, and white. When he LOOKS into the camera, you can literally SEE into the back of his BRAIN, his pupils are SO dilated.
Steve Winwood was still just 21 when this album came out in 1967 but he had already been a significant success in the Spencer Davis Group, which he joined in 1963. During his time with that group they released three albums in 1965 and 66 before he left to form Traffic. This album was released in the U.S. with variations in tracks and mixes as Heaven is in Your Mind but as well as that both the U.K. and U.S. version of the album were released in both Stereo and Mon mixes, meaning the there were four variants of the album released.
The bass player of Traffic wrote and sang "feelin alright" 🔥🔥 the best cover of that song is by Gladys Knight and the Pips second best is Grand funk railroad, 🔥 then the Jackson 5 , forth is Joe Cocker 🔥, 6th rare earth, 7th Three dog Knight........ Fight me
Traffic (Dave Mason) wrote Feelin’ Alright. Made famous by Joe Cocker! I do like Traffic’s version better for some reason. A bit more laid back. Recorded within one year of each other.
This is a huge hit and stands the test of time. It was even used as the opening song for Avengers; Endgame. Been covered by many other artists, including the Grateful Dead. If Steve Winwood is involved, it's going to be some quality stuff. Traffic is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, too.
But they did...but you didn't hear them cause it wasn't top 40 Garbage Rock Radio playing the short overhyped trash very 15 minutes cause they hate long innovated songs
aaahhh...Traffic! If you want more Traffic a must is 'The Low Spark of the High Heeled Boys'. Another group from that era you need to explore is Ten Years After, specifically '50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain'.
Ten Years After is awesome...but some of their songs are too long for a request. I do have I'd Love to Change the World on my list tho! Love 50k Miles!
Winwood spoke often about his obvious attempt to sound like Ray Charles and how much of a hero Ray was to all the young musicans coming up. Thank god the rest of us aren't tone deaf clowns on the internet. @@DENVEROUTDOORMAN
