No joke, everytime he takes a bite and chews, it's as if the video has been sped up 1.5 - 2x. With That in contrast with the way Ben talks, makes the video seem like it's out of sync.
I used to work at Nandos and it was heavenly. They give you like £12 allowance per shift, and if you do a split shift, that means you get £24. Tried every damn combination of food on that big ass menu. They really looked after us too... lots of free parties and events, good company culture. I wish you tried the Extra Hot Chicken Livers man, they are TIGHT YO!
@@codestuff6231 its just a preference things, liver is just a wild thing to me. Ive had nearly all types and i cant get over the actual liver taste it has, seasoning only masks the flavor to an extent
bro I agree with normal shitty liver, ckinda gross, but Nando's livers are incredible. Tbh they're probably the most unhealthy thing on the menu lol, full of incredible flavor. the texture is pretty weird if you've never eaten liver before, but it goes amazing with coleslaw and rice when it's extra hot. my only problem with it is that it gives me explosive diarrhea literally 10 minutes after finishing eating it, but it's so damn good that it's worth it lmao . @@RoninZX-
Yo Ben, before removing the chicken from the pack, put hot or extra hot peri peri sauces in the pack and shake it. That'll get the maximum Nandos experience 👍🏽
@@prospersikhwari5289 well for us, here in SA they do it without even asking, it's a thing already. So yeah I'm sure you could ask em or do it yourself
Randomly suggested by RU-vid and I'm now binging his UK series. Never thought watching someone eat could be so entertaining. This guy is watchable and engaging, many thanks for the content!
As someone from the UK this was an amazing watch, I love seeing people try nandos. Btw, nandos is all about the sauce! Always eat it in store so you can try all of their sauces, I think there's about 6 different ones
The phrase ‘cheeky nandos’ came from a solid spot to go to when looking to eat out with some friends but you cant be bothered to think hard of a location. The consistency and affordability made it a cheeky nandos! Used to be under £10 for half chicken and 2 sides, but i must say only thing cheeky about it is their prices these days…
Everything has gone up due to inflation and living costs, nandos is still really good value. Great service, lots of food with bottomless drinks, great flavor, free sauces, lots of offers. Still very good value. I would know since me and basically everyone I know go there all the time
As a South African (the home of Nandos) I was shocked seeing how popular Nandos was in this country when I first came here for University. Feels good seeing Ben try it.
The chain started & got popular in South Africa but the peri peri recipe is from Mozambique which neighbors South Africa. So Nandos is a big part of the local culture, it's everywhere down there. @@cainsmyth53
@@cainsmyth53 seeing as it`s been around in SA since 1987 and now there are at least 3 outlets in every town across SA, i`d say it`s rather popular, but, very expensive for the average Joe...Nando`s for the middle to upper classes and Chicken Lickin for the rest...
@@gl1131 It doesn't matter what you know because you're wrong.💀😂 It's been a hit from day one. Nandos got so popular in SA that a former executive opened a knock off (Gilato's) that now competes with Nandos, Mozambik is also pretty big.
Friendly tip Ben relating to the sauces - do not buy the bottles. They’re not the same (taste wise) as the sachets. So nab a few of the sachets from the restaurants before you head home as they’re a lot lot better
Must be different all over the place, the bottles we get in Aus taste the exact same as the sachets, think the only thing that tastes different is the salt
FUN FACT: Mozambique was colonized by Portugal so that's why we speak Portuguese and that's why these ARE actually CALLED "PIRI-PIRI chicken" but due to lost translation since the mozambican man who shared this recipe with his fellow south African friend ended up passing away...and the south African friend kept his legacy alive by popularizing this recipe in his country...but im guessing he just never knew how to properly pronounce the word "piri-piri" which basically means (birds eye chilli) so yeah.....😂
There is also something similar called pili pili, but that is made with scotch bonnet I believe. People use pili and piri interchangeably though which I think is ok, they are both equally as hot I think 🥵
Gotta try the sunset burger and also the grilled chicken wrap. I swear the half chicken you got isn't what it usually looks like. Looks more marinated normally like the wings did
I've never been so proud to hear an American/Korean praise and admire Nando's like this I'm proud African and when someone praise our own Nando's makes me happy thanks Ben
@@wrth the peri peri dish is actually from Mozambique/south Africa, the Portuguese colonised it and took the recipe with them. The company was actually founded in south Africa. The more you learn ig

One little tip Ben, you should go one time and eat there they have lots of sauces and the Vusa one is a completely different but spicier than extra extra hot and amazing taste
Ben before you leave the UK you ABSOLUTELY MUST get a roast dinner. If you leave without trying it you haven't experienced the UK. I recommend a roast chicken roast with some crackling and all the other trimmings
I don't know what it is but there's something weirdly enjoyable about watching someone REALLY enjoying their food! I had a big smile on my face all through this video... If I had one observation it's probably that I kept getting distracted by watching what was going on in the offices behind you through the window..... I guess I'm just nosy! Great video, thanks. 😁
Yo Ben, you gotta give us your opinions of British food at the end of ur trip. We get a bad rep but I feel like that’s mainly by people who haven’t been here / have seen some dodgy looking meals on social media
@@YungRamo well, they're not wrong. Probably a handful of foods to list. Roast Dinner, fish and chips, beef wellington, shepherds/ cottage pie. a pastie. And everything else is a variation of whatever I listed with potatos or meat prepared in different ways with minimal seasoning and no spices. So yes, it is quite bland in comparison to other cuisines.
@@SamirxkhanI take it you haven’t tasted any of these cos that’s a pretty elite line up right there. A lot of food can be bland mate it depends on how it’s prepared. Even the roast I used to have for school dinner wasn’t bland 😅
You MUST get a Chinese, esp after the recent controversy, there’s barely any content of an American’s first time trying and it would be so cool to hear your opinion on more Asian food adapted to the British palate - loved your latest tikka masala vid!! When you do, please order salt and pepper chicken pieces (not shredded), salt and pepper chips, egg fried rice, noodles, spring rolls, prawn crackers (classic UK order). Most people smother it in curry or sweet & sour sauce, it would be good to see you order anything else that you’ve tried before elsewhere or find intriguing. Maybe even get some duck pancakes if you fancy going all out, people also love chicken satays, beef chow mien, honey chilli chicken, or prawn toast. Enjoy!!
Nando’s just hits better in the restaurant while it’s just cane of the charcoal grill. Even if it isn’t as hot as you expected the authentic nando sauce adds to it on the side. Getting the chicken hot it just taste fire. I always get chips, creamy mash, halloumi & spicy rice. With butter chicken & some wings. 😍😋
I love a man who eats like it's the end of the world!! The extra hot is really only on the outside so its about adding the extra sauce to it to keep the spice level up as you go.
considering the quality of the food, Nando's is not expensive for brits - at the end of day is a low calorie "fast-food" and is one of the healthier alternatives especially for this price. Big nandos xx
This man eats the way I dream about eating but with a very English mother if I even thought about eating my meal with that much enthusiasm I'd have been sent to bed hungry 😂
one trick to elevate the chicken burger is to get the butterfly chicken on its own then order a side of garlic bread and coleslaw and just build it togehter. it just turns this chicken burger to another level! 😍
Nandos is one of my favs, grilled, beautiful, spiced chicken thats pretty consistent. I normally go with Garlic bread and chips. Always get extra packet of the spicy powder for chips and extra sauce over chicken is essential, i normally go hot chicken with garlic sauce over the top. The options are endless...only downside is it costs a fortune.
Hey BenDeen, What a mighty fine Nandos feast! Next time you go Nandos try chicken livers with lemon and herb sauce, Portuguese roll with Peri-salted chips and spicy rice, it's a mighty fine awesome combination!
I know you like to shoot your videos at home but going to a Nandos and sitting in is a completely different experience. you'll have access to all the sauces which includes the spicy garlic sauce and the extra, extra hot sauce (the spiciest one).
There is an option for “peri vusa” which is the spiciest. If it isn’t available then they should have it in a bottle which you can request for in a tub. That goes amazing on the boneless chicken thighs.
It would be interesting to see you go to one of dodgy chicken corner shops that im sure youve seen around (chicken corner, dixys ect). Very cheap, suprisingly good, definitely a london staple and something you should give a try while you're here.
Nandos in Australia is a joke. Overpriced, small ass portions. If you ever come to Sydney I highly recommend El Jannah. Multiple restraunts around the city, good portions, very tasty marinated chicken, delicious hot chips with chicken salt on it, garlic sauce, tabouleh and freshly baked lebanese bread. hit it up homie
Best thing about my wife working for the NHS - 20% discount on Nandos in store...... New subscriber Ben, love your videos checking British food out, we get a bad wrap really as we have some quality food. Even our Mcdonalds is different than USAs.
Just saying you really did miss out on not using the sauce on the chicken. That's where your real spice flavour is. All of their sauces are the pillars of Nandos so it's unfortunate you didn't utilise them properly lol you would've got your extra hot flavour right there
Nandos is not worth the hype it's just overpriced chicken leg n chip!!I can do better in my air fryer at home and my colslaw slays that nasty stuff they av there!!😂😂😂
I could eat Nandos literally every day of my life. So flavorful, so tender. I get it multple times a week. It's right next door to my apartment I feel lucky lol
Nice one! Hmm what might be interesting as a next meal? Perhaps Wimpy? They were one of the first 'fast food' restaurants here and never really went international, I don't think. There aren't many about it, and I dunno how good they are but one to look into?
Nandos do a pitta wrap with chicken and hollomi cheese that is to die for, their wraps with chilli jam are fantastic as well. Edit: I think thr pitta wrap is a limited thing, its not always on the menu but when it is its my go to alongside the butterfly burger.
I went to the one in DC like 10 years ago and it was good but nothing mind blowing - I've had better from local Peruvian chicken spots. Maybe it was just an off day or the quality is higher at the UK locations idk
It’s not meant to be mind blowing it’s loved here so much because it’s very easily accessible there’s literally one everywhere and it’s very good quality grilled chicken so it’s a clean eat. The peri peri sauce/salt is what makes it stand out. It’s something you eat when you want a takeaway but don’t wanna feel like shit after
It's expensive here in the US. Over $30 for a whole chicken /w two sides. I used to be able to get a 1/2 chicken two sides for $8 (now $14) before Biden became president at my Peruvian chicken spot and it tastes way better. Better off just buying the PeriPeri sauce and cooking it yourself.@@Jimmyconway77
You need to have legit fish and chips - battered cod, portion of chips, curry sauce, mushy peas and a jumbo sausage, maybe an all-steak pukka pie too. Get on it lad! 🇬🇧😅👍
