First time using the St Croix Victory Spy Bait Rod! 

Hi, can i use this for small shad raps

what gear ratio and size vanford?

I plan on adding a couple of victory rods this winter.

I just bought the same rod. Bought the Vanford 3000 reel to go with it. What size reel would you recommend and have you thrown any other types of lures on it?

Bought this early on based on SMC’s recommendations and love it. Handle big smallies on Lake O and for the price can’t be beat. 👍🏻

Looking for a hair jig rod, do you think that model would work for a hair jig or is it too heavy? I see St Croix also makes a 7'10" Victory Medium Light Extra Fast, would this be better for a hair jig?

I throw my spybaits with a Legend Extreme 7’6 ML and it launches it !!
