Alvin and The Chipmunks started in 1958 with their Christmas song "Christmas Don't Be Late". It became a big radio hit. There was an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, a Comic Book and a TV Show. The rest as they say is history.
I remember this movie franchise for the longest time. When I was a kid, I liked watching the chipmunks because of their high pitched voices and their fun personalities. Y’know, despite this being an adaptation of a cartoon show. The first movie is actually fun for what it is.
You know, fun fact about me: Before I hit puberty and my voice dropped, like, one or two octaves lower to where it is now, I could do the _most perfect_ voice impression of Alvin when I was younger. Also, "How We Roll" is a certified hood classic, and one of the _best_ Chipmunks songs ever. Fight me.
This was literally my favourite movie when I was little. I thought the scene with Alvin in the hat and the business meeting were the funniest things in the world
My favorite is Alvin ❤. Loved him since I was 7! I also saw the movie in theaters when I was 7 back when it first came out! I'd love to see you do a reaction to "The Squeakquel" (yes, that's literally the name of the 2nd movie) as well as the 3rd and 4th one!
The song “Witch Doctor” originally came out in 1958 featuring the high pitch voice during the chorus. The voice was then reused in the creation of the chipmunks, in their first proper song “The Chipmunk Song”, which is the Christmas song prominently featured in this movie.
I grew up with Alvin and the Chipmunks, so did my parents, they had LP Records of them, I had books and tapes. Alvin was always my favorite, the trouble maker.
There's the old school cartoon, Alvin And The Chipmunks. Then they also had at least a couple animated movies. Alvin And The Chipmunks Meet The Wolfman, and Alvin And The Chipmunks Meet Frankenstein are the best two movies, when it comes to these guys.
Dave was a pro skateboarder 80s/early 90s . Theres vids here on youtube. Back then most skaters retired before 25 so he got into acting . He starred in kevin smiths Mallrats ( 1995 ) and nailed it .
Yes, Ange. Chipmunks, squirrels, rats, mice, beavers, shrews, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, hares, all of them are rodents. Capibaras are the biggest of them.
A key feature of the order Rodentia is that they have teeth that DON'T stop growing. That's why they need to gnaw on stuff that's harder than their teeth to file them down. (I.E. Beavers gnawing down trees)
Novelty Songs were popular in the 50's and 60's, think "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (A Letter from Camp)" or "Yakety yak. Don't talk back". Ross Bagdasarian (stage name: David Seville) created "The Chipmunk Song" which became popular and eventually became a cartoon in the 60s and 80s.
I saw some episodes of one of the tv shows as a young child, but then I completely forgot about it. I had just watched this movie for the first time when I got a flashback of the tv show and realized that this movie is based on the same chipmunks. It gave me crazy nostalgia djfhdj. My favorite is Simon! He's kind of the reasonable one, but also sassy. :D
Dave Seville made a record signing with chipmunks that was Dave with his voice sped up on the recording... 1056 was the real date of the original recording
Yes check out the Alvin & the Chipmunks sequels especially Alvin & the Chipmunks the squeakquel one of my favorites in the franchise saw that film in the movie theater my Aunt June took me to see it after visiting my Grandma Dee in California...

Growing up I owned 'Urban Chipmunk' and 'Christmas with the Chipmunks Vol 2' both were great albums. Also they had a Christmas cartoon in 1983 that you could watch this year at x-mas time. , really good, but also a little sad from what I remember
Yeah! There was a cartoon back in the 80s. It was awesome. And, yes, Theodore is the best!! So adorable and squeezable. Ha. When Simon eats his little poop. So funny! I liked this movie way more than I expected to, first watching it in my 30s. Ha.
This is another of my favorite movies! I used to watch their old 80's cartoon show all the time back then. Also if you want the full history story of Alvin and The Chipmunks then I suggest you watch ROCKIN WITH THE CHIPMUNKS 1991 which was hosted by WILL SMITH!!! lol Anyway YES you should definitely see the 3 sequel movies too!
9:55 Yes squirrels are rodents. As are Capybaras, Springhares, Beavers, Mice, Rats, Porcupines, Gophers, Hamsters, Nutria, and Guinea Pigs to name a few
One of my fondest memories is taking my autistic 8 year old nephew to see this in cinemas when it first came out. He wasn't very verbal at that stage. The second the chipmunks started singing at the beginning he started laughing histerically, and he set of the whole theatre who was laughing with him laughing at the chipmunks. It was the loudest I ever heard him laugh. He's 25 now. 😁
Hello Ange!😊 Are you beating yourself up? Who has been chewing on your headphones band? If it is you, that is a bad habit.😉😆 I grew up with the Chipmunk albums. Yep, they had their own albums with Dave. Their Christmas album was a big hit! They have 38 albums now, starting back in 1959. The voice actors don't do the singing too. Cameron Richardson (Claire) is a fine woman.❤ Eastern Chipmunks live for 2 - 3 years. Siberian Chipmunks live for 6 - 10 years. There were a pair of chipmunks that came down to my house from the woods and ran around. They were gone after a couple of years.🥲 Yep, chipmunks are rodents, Ange. They are ground squirrels.😉 Great reactions to your first Alvin and the Chipmunks film, Ange!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏
Hi Angelina. Guess who’s back, it’s me, David Gray. You may remember me posting a comment in your Despicable Me reactions. I just came to let you know that your reaction to Alvin and the Chipmunks from 2007 was fantastic. All I’m gonna say is do the sequels. Alvin and the chipmunks the Squeakquel, Alvin, and the chipmunks Chipwrecked, and Alvin and the chipmunks the road, Chip.
5:39 1.) "Was this the town Alvin & his brothers live? 2.) "Was this the town David works in? 3.) "Was this the time Alvin & The Chipmunks met Dave" 4.) "Was this the time they became a family?"
27:12 Listen, I know he's the antagonist and was super rude to Dave and cruel to the chipmunks, but this scene here always made me feel a bit bad for him...
Dave is driving a Triumph TR-250 convertible roadster, a very rare and expensive car. With not so good paint job. So sad. Worth more than some people's yearly salary. so very sad.😢. I restored one back in the early nineties.
