The Apes are the oppressed people here, so I NEVER saw them as the villains of this or any of the movies... This includes Koba. In the scene in which he plays and does tricks for the human guards, the audience can understand that Koba was most likely poached and sold as an exotic pet or as an asset to an entertainment company. Today there have been countless articles and documentaries exposing how Rich a$$ h0les do not adequately take care of exotic animals. They mistreat them, abuse them, and even abandon them. Circuses were often terrible to their animals, and kept them in terrible living conditions. Koba has a very strong personality and would not have been easy to train. His owners saw this, and COMPLETELY LOGICALLY decided to violently beat and disfigure Kiba into submission. We don't see or hear about his background directly, but by observing his character and body in the first and second movie, we can learn a lot about him. He's had a long and painful life, full of many different humans... All awful. You can see at the beginning of the movie that Koba loves Caesar and his beliefs. In their promised lands of forests, finally away from any human danger, in PEACE, Koba's protective and caring nature was able to bloom. He was able to focus all his efforts on protecting the Apes, forming a strong bond with Caesar, training and teaching others, and hunting to provide for his people. If the humans had stayed away, never even got close to the Ape colony, then Koba would have lived the rest of his life happily by Caesar's side. He was Caesar's friend, he helped raise his son, he's part of their family. Koba, just like all the Apes, are victims of Human occupation and power. His whole life he's suffered human hate and cruelty, and his personality and skills adapted for survival. Koba wasn't born war hungry! He was born into slavery and abuse. I always saw the virus as nature's retribution for everything we did to her and her creations. She finally fought back and destroyed humanity, allowing her to reclaim her land and give back her resources to her creations, all her animals and living things. I saw the the Ape mutations, allowing them to becoming as intelligent as humans but remained much more physically capable, as karma and punishment for human's hubris. Humanity believed it was entitled to the whole world, and dismissed all other living beings as equals or contenders. We took more than we needed, killed and hurt anything for even more, and
They BOTH thought rick was dead and they BOTH got into it with eachother. Shane genuinely thought he was dead but Shane’s the only one that was getting any backlash. Also Ed deserved that😂
Even if a chimp's brain could be increased in capacity to where it could talk it doesn't have the structures in the throat to do so. Talking is the anatomical ability to do so, not just brain function
I think this movie is the weakest for me is because of them mainly being on land. There was no ship stuff except using them as transport. That and they could have done more with Blackbeard instead of just a one off character. Barbosa working under the King was also weird, and the whole prophecy thing. Like we totally have no idea who that one legged man is. That's one specific prophecy giving you pretty much the exact cause of death and time of death. xD The fifth one is definitely not the worst one. I'm not sure who said that, but majority of the comments from last movie seem to say this is the worst one.
this was definitely a stronger story and better visuals. the first felt more like a test run for restarting the franchise, and after it was positively received, this one got a better budget and more scrutiny in terms of production. matt reeves did a good job with the tone and direction of the 2nd and 3rd ones
From a technical standpoint, if I recall correctly the reason this looks so good for the time is this is one of the first, if not THE first, CGI movie to implement ray-tracing. Pixar didn't do it until Cars a year later. Combined with the fact that it's mostly metal surfaces that shine and no hair or grass or anything too complex, it adds a crispness to its visual style that makes it age beautifully. Like, what other CGI movies came out that year? Chicken Little? Hoodwinked? Madagascar? They've all aged so much worse visually than this, and it's a testament to Blue Sky's technical capabilities. Oh yeah, the movie itself is fun too, lol.
Do react to : - Shawshank redemption - Interstellar - Before I go to sleep - U571 - Enemy at the gates - Anna starring Sasha Luss - Miss Sloane - Hidden Figures - Andhadhun ( Hindi with subtitles ) - Duel (1971) - Directed by Steven Spielberg - Redeye - Drishyam ( Hindi ) with subtitles - Raazi ( Hindi ) with subtitles - Neerja ( Hindi ) with subtitles
the technology of motion capture was pretty much invented for this movie. the technology was groundbreaking and it's really cool to see the behind the scenes about how they did it.
the magic portrayed is much better because of 2 main reasons. 1. Practical reasons: CGI is better 2. Lore reasons: main characters are adult and fully trained unlike in the HP movies where they were kids
In the fictional universe the Toy Story movies take place in, there was a Buzz Lightyear movie that Andy was a huge fan of, and the Buzz toy was movie merchandise. The movie "Lightyear" with Chris Evans is basically supposed to be the movie Andy saw - but don't even try to figure out the timeline! Anyway Lightyear is a good movie in its own right, and definitely worth watching.
