First Time Watching *CHILD'S PLAY* (2019) | AYOOO??? 

Not only did Toy Story 4 and Child's Play come out the same year but the same day as well. The marketing during that time was hilarious.

This movie really needs a sequel and a trilogy.

I genuinely just felt bad for Chucky in this. He just wanted his best friend to acknowledge him

Mark Hamill as Chucky was such a fun casting choice. I'm gonna miss his Joker but he won't be voicing him again because his Batman (Kevin Conroy) died a couple months ago . He definitely let out one or two joker laughs in this movie

I feel like M3GAN was what this remake tried to be. My issues with this movie is mostly the behind the scenes crap that was going on because it feels like a cash grab by MGM in an attempt to keep their greedy hands on the rights to the first movie. Also, they clearly didn't care how franchise creator Don Mancini felt because they only wanted him involved in name only with no creative input whatsoever

I always thought the movie was alright but the fact that it was done because they were on a time crunch with the rights to chucky and it was done without asking chucky's creator always felt messed up.

Fun Fact: Don Mancini and many of the OG Chucky crew do not like this film and voiced that they didn't support this film. Don didn't even want a "Original Child's Play by Don Mancini" in the credits as he wanted nothing to do with having his name on this movie that wasn't his. And Jennifer Tilly especially. Starting up the trend at the time #notmychucky.

The reason for the lack of Charles Lee Ray and other things from the series like Good Guy Dolls was because of a rights issue. They were only allowed to use specific things from the franchise in the reboot. I think the doll could have looked better (he looks perfect on the posters but that was not what showed up in the movie lol), but I really enjoyed the movie for what it was.

The dedication to move houses for a joke in the intro is just chef's kiss

I have mixed feelings about this movie, it’s a good movie I just don’t like how it was made against Don Mancini’s wishes but all in all it’s decent lol. Really enjoyed this reaction it was hilarious

"M3GAN" basically remade this remake with less gore and more dancing. Interesting.

I loved this film so much! I love how he was just like a child and learned his behaviours. That montage of him and Andy bonding was so fucking great. Like this one had heart and emotion the original series didn't I feel.

Working as an Alamo Drafthouse employee during this movie release, was awesome. We dressed up and had a horror movie party for the viewers, had a Q and A session before the movie. It was a good time. For those who don't know, Alamo Drafthouse is a Movie theater based out of Texas originally.

Yeah, as a completionist I hate it when reactors skip some entries because commenters told them to. I wonder if Gabriel Bateman still act, he's a good child actor.

This movie was actually a good reboot. It maintained the whole killer doll aspect with plenty of gruesome kills without trying to rehash the original. They were smart to not try giving us a new Charles Lee Ray, it just wouldn't have worked. So I personally loved how much they went in their own direction. Plus, this has some of the best kills in the franchise. Sadly, a lot of people are basically prebuilt to just hate remakes/reboots for simply existing so they don't give them a fair shot. Most of the people who did see this back in 2019 gave it praise. Bonus: I think Mark Hamill is great here. His Chucky is more of a tragedy. He wasn't evil, he just didn't understand anything and the modern world combined with broken programming just corrupted him. Hamill nailed when Chucky was sad but when he needed to go full psycho, he was funny and scary at the same time. There were certain parts where he embraced the Joker and I love it.

This is literally like the movie M3gan but with Chucky. I don’t care what people say but this was a really good movie 🍿🎥🔪🪓🩸

I…didn’t hate it. I actually think it’s a better film than most give it credit for. It was a fun 80’s throwback in terms of decent gore. Also, I like the fact that Chucky is a little sympathetic in this version. Sure, it’s not the original but it shouldn’t be. And that’s what I like about it. They actually took it in the direction of the original story concept (look up the original story for Child’s Play when it was called Blood Brothers)

I actaully like this movie too. And I don't understand why it got so much hate. It was a fun time and they brought the story into a 2019 context. Back in the 80 occult things, voodoo and supernatural stuff were big in horror. Now it's technology
