Cecil isn't blind. He's sharp as a fox. He's basically an analogue for Nick Fury. It's not that he doesn't want to see the truth about Omni-Man. He already suspects Omni-Man. It's just that letting the truth get out before they have a way to defeat Omni-Man could be really dangerous. He can't have Omni-Man knowing he's on to him.

"I think his dad is the real invincible" you got that right (I don't think you know what invincible means do you? If not here's the definition anyway) invincible: too powerful to be defeated or overcome. Also here is invulnerable (just cuz) impossible to harm or damage.
