Yes, The Incredible Hulk movie is still in the MCU despite the recast.

Kevin Feige confirmed a while back that the little kid with the Iron man mask on is Peter Parker .

I feel like this film is just Sam Rockwell chewing scenery and I live for it! Like how he just improvised every line in the weapons demonstration, and if you look closely at the other actors in the scene you'll notice they're all trying not to laugh 😂

Though “The Incredible Hulk” wasn’t the best MCU movie, it still was better than Ang Lee’s Hulk. General Ross’ character becomes a recurring character in the later MCU movies. They’ve also confirmed that Abomination will return for the upcoming She-Hulk tv series and has appeared in the latest Shang-Chi movie trailer.

Fun Fact: Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and Christine Everhart (Leslie Bibb) began dating the year prior to this film's release! They've been together since. :)

The more I see Incredible Hulk the more I actually like it. I know that doesn’t help for a first reaction but it is a part of the lineup and can’t hurt to watch.

I'm convinced that Tony's antics at the party were done deliberately to push Rhodey over the edge and take the suit. I mean, there was no security for the thing, he could change the dimensions to fit his body very easily, there was an actual ARC REACTOR attached to it... Presumably Tony knew he couldn't function as Iron Man for much longer but his ego wouldn't let him hand over the suit.

The Mark 5 armour is SO COOL The briefcase armour is straight out of the comics however by the time of this movie it was more immediately in the 90s animated series Which every now and again I listen to the season 2 intro theme and it is truly epic

I agree that dude did deserve that spinoff movie. He's such a cliche but well performed villain where it overrules the cliche bit of the character. I totally forgot about him haha

If anyone has seen the latest Shang-Chi trailer, 'The Incredible Hulk' was made relevant.

Yes, you should include "The Incredible Hulk" with Ed Norton in your viewing of the MCU. It it tied in with all the other movies and sets up the character as well as Thunderbolt Ross and, apparently, The Abomination, for future MCU appearances. Ed Norton joined the movie after he and the director, Louis Leterrier, were promised creative control of the film (Norton ghost-wrote the draft that was filmed). After it was shot and edited, a producer at Marvel who is no longer involved with the MCU decided to have it re-edited without their knowledge to cut out 40+ minutes of footage. The idea was that by trimming it down, it would get an additional airing in theaters each day and therefore bring in more money for them. Norton wasn't happy as the footage was character-driven content he promised would be included, so he did limited promotion for it when it was ready for release. Additionally, as Iron Man and Incredible Hulk were still being filmed, Marvel decided to tie both the movies and their future films together and filmed the cameo scene with Samuel L. Jackson in Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr. in The Incredible Hulk with the idea of creating a unified continuity. A year later, Marvel was bought by Disney and they made a deal with Paramount, the studio that Marvel partnered with to produce 6 original movies, to buy back to the rights to Iron Man and the forthcoming films they were going to distribute for Marvel; however, The Incredible Hulk was not part of the Paramount deal as it was distributed by Universal, based on the original rights Marvel sold them for the character years prior. Since Universal had first rights of refusal on releasing any "Hulk" movie, Disney, rather than electing to share profits of any potential future Hulk films with them, decided they would no longer produce standalone Hulk films moving forward and instead incorporated the character's content into other movies (such as co-starring appearance in the second and third act of Thor Ragnarok, as a workaround to the contract clause). Having been screwed over by the producer at Marvel, Ed Norton was originally hesitant to return, but later indicated that he would be open to coming back after the producer left. However, both Robert Downey Jr. and Ed Norton weren't under a long term contract when the first two films were made and Norton is known for being "hands-on" with the movies he makes. So, having already experienced the drama with Norton and the producer behind the scenes, paying RDJ a huge contract to return for the Avengers movies and his later appearances and the fact that Joss Whedon was going to be shepherding the franchise at the time (and likely would not be fond of Norton wanting to dictate how his appearances should be), Marvel and Disney opted to recast the role with Mark Ruffalo instead.

I can't wait for him to see Thor for the first time! He might get whiplash from goin to the Iron Man movies, which are reasonably grounded in reality, to Thor, which is a magical fantasy involving aliens and Norse mythology.

The Ex-Wife missile actually was fine, because it's a projectile dependent on momentum, so for it to work, Rhodey needed to move at high speeds, not stationary. So it wasn't cuz it was hammer tech, it was because he used it wrong.

Don't skip movies. They recast Rhodey in this, you still watched it. Incredible Hulk introduces recurring characters like Thunderbolt Ross, and its events are referenced multiple times in the subsequent movies.

the actor playing Hammer was in Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman... a great cast!

The Incredible Hulk is a good movie, but it's not really that necessary for the overall story of the MCU. In that movie, Bruce Banner/Hulk is played by Edward Norton, but after that, he got recasted and was played by Mark Ruffalo in the following movies.

When Tony meets with Fury at the end, you can see the events of Incredible Hulk on the TV news.

Yep, Hulk is definitely canon and important. The recasting is jarring but a few characters are relevant later - plus the Hulk origin story itself!

I never noticed it before but during the hearing at the start tech rival Hammer to Tony stark mentions that Anthony Stark created a Sword with untold possibilities but yet he insists it's a shield. do you guys think it is a reference to organizations Sword and Shield

If you want to know more about Howard Stark, you should watch Agent Carter. Even if you don't care about Howard, you should still watch Agent Carter. Also, 'Agents of SHIELD' is a must-watch. It's a fantastic show, one of the best things MCU has ever had.

I hope you dive a bit beyond the movies and check out some of the shows in particular Agent Carter after you make it to Captain America, and Agents of Shield starting after Iron Man 3. Also love to see you guys hit up the Daredevil and Punisher series, though since they are as disconnected as they are from the movies, with only brief mentions of certain events, it doesn't really matter when you start them; unlike Agents of Shield which plays directly into and off of the movies.

You should defiantly watch The Incredible Hulk. Not just for those who don't know much of his story, but also cause it's such a good movie in my opinion. They did make another Hulk movie that came out in 2003 that bombed greatly. But the 2008 re-imagined Incredible Hulk movie with leading actor Edward Norton as Bruce Banner is an amazing movie worth watching. I do hope you give it a chance and give it a watch. It's also meant to connect to the MCU. Not just cause of a character call back but also because of the ending credits in the movie. So please do watch it when possible. =D

This one is decent enough but given the choice, I would have preferred the original origin story ark for the creation of War Machine. It might of been tough though to as RDJ to play a man on an alcoholic bender though.

Ignore the people who are saying to not watch Incredible Hulk, it’s a damn good movie and it really did a good job of fleshing out Bruce Banner’s story far better than the later films did. It did have some things that could have been improved but to me it’s one of my top 5 favorite MCU films

If you look up Peter Parker MCU fandom, you'll see that in this movie,, the little boy with the Iron Man mask on, pretending to blast at the Hammer drone, was in fact him about 6 to 7 years before he became the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!!!!

In Australia which they are Aussie band we all called ACDC but we also Called them Acca Dacca, My favorite ADDC song is T.N.T but I like most their songs as Aussie listen to ACDC, John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes and Olivia Newton-John. was always a thing did as a kid gowning up in the 80's now been 40 years old still listen to lots different music because my parents and brother's.

They did know that they were in the same universe as Iron Man. That's proven by an end credits scene. I just think it's more that they didn't know how well the franchise would go. Story-wise is really no need to see The Incredible Hulk it does have some tie-ends but to be honest the only overlapping character is Thunderbolt Ross. There are a few little callbacks in later films. But I'm sure that we would just shout those out to you if you guys decide not to watch The Incredible Hulk. Now do not watch Hulk with Eric Bana that is not a part of this at all nor is it good

The problems with Hulk aren't that insurmountable.Whilst it is a good movie in it's own right, (in my opinion), it actually doesn't tie in to the MCU beyond the introduction of Thunderbolt Ross and Bruce Banner, the latter of which was, as you mentioned, recast. Even the post credit scene doesn't really tie in unless you watch all the MCU shorts. Note: Blomski is the interesting problem Tony refers to, not Banner. They were also still figuring out what direction the MCI was going in and introduced some possible storylines (The Leader) that were never followed up on. Still, I enjoy rewatching it myself from time to time, accepting it for what it is, a fun story and the introduction of the super soldier serum..
