Steve Perry: is a countertenor who sings in the range of a high tenor to a solid alto. Among the few tenor altos, he is considered to be incomparable due to his incredibly rare countertenor voice. Saw them live in 79 and 82 and Steve is just phenomenal...Dubbed "The Voice" In the Top “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”...Thanx for reaction, Peace
25 years ago almost to the day, my wife and I shared our first dance as married couple in our wedding reception - and by my choice, this was our first dance. I still remember that awesome day and we're still happily married and just celebrated our Silver Anniversary. In your last video - you said you love/prefer to see/hear live performances. Journey is one of the few bands who is actually as good or better live than the studio. You can listen to ANY song from the 1981 Live in Houston and will be floored. BUT I recommend the following: ALL from 1981 Houston Escape Tour "Stone In Love", "Mother Father" (this one considered to be one of THE greatest singing live performances by ANY rock band ever!), "Who's Crying Now" , "Don't Stop Believing" "Anyway You Want It", "Lights" "Wheel in the Sky" "Lovin Touchin Squeezin" "Open Arms" "Keep On Running" And then: "Still They Ride" and "Send Her My Love" 1983 live in Tokyo
This is the song where Steve Perry, found out that he had a serious hip problem that needed major surgery. In this video Steve Perry, was in alot of major pain. That during breaks he would put ice packs on his hip. And you would have never known that by watching him in the video!!
Wheel in The Sky is an amazing song too Really early days of Journey with Steve Perry as the lead singer. Watch him during the guitar solo and listen to the notes he hits....
No body can sing like Mr perry anymore I told you I'm sorry to say that people Mr legendary still the one the golden voice ever until the end of the world 🥰
One of the most beautiful songs ever written....Steve's voice and how he emotes...the stellar musicianship of Neal Schon and the rest of the band...Gorgeous!!!
So glad you chose this song/video. I knew you would feel it. You can't help but react with raw emotions because that's what Journey brings to their music, genuine love and give their all.
Stone in love, Open Arms, Send her my love, wheel in the sky, -loving, touching, squeezing,-,Don’t stop believing….I could go on, anything that Steve Perry sings is amazing 🤩
Great reaction! 😊 Journey was such a phenomenal group…. Lots and lots of killer songs with Steve just murdering the vocals. Of course he also has his solo stuff. Def a rabbit hole worth going down. Much love from AZ 🌵
Steve Perry is my #1. As I was growing up my main guy was Sam Cooke. He went to Singers Paradise where only the best singers go. Then I heard Steve Perry. And I'm not sure where they became connected, to me, it's been a long time coming. And I can now rest after first hearing Steve Perry in the early 70's. He brought it all home to me. XOXO
Journey is still a tour band. Steve Perry isn’t sing with them but Arnel does a good job at following Steve’s voice. There is only One, Steve Perry, cold hard fact. The music is great.
I feel sorry for you young folks of today you missed all the great groups and artists from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and very few 90’s. I grew up during the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Barry White, Temptations, Journey, Eagles, Four Tops etc. My eldest son who is 44 now turned me onto Eminem who I adore to this day. I don’t particularly care for some of his language but it makes him who he is. The GOAT!
Listen To Mother, Farther Live In Houston TX 1981, Open Arms, Don't Stop Believing, Who's Crying Now, Still They Ride, Stone In Love, Too Late, City Of The Angle's Sweet And Simple, Day Dream, Loving, Touching, Squeezing, Lights, Wheel In The Sky, Stay Awhile, Feeling That Way- Anytime, Something To Hide, Winds Of March,
To me good music either makes me want to sing with it or dance to it- except when it comes to Steve Perry. With Steve Perry I just want to sit still and listen. HIs voice can touch your soul. THAT is great music.
Yes keep checking on Journey with Steve Perry. Wheel in the Sky, Mother Father, Why Can't This Night Go on Forever, Still They Ride, Faithfully all of the 1981 live in Houston Escape tour. Most people love their live versions better than their studio versions, because the improvise; solos are longer. Steve sounds incredible and either way you will love hearing this amazing , iconic group...Promise!
Go down the rabbit hole with Journey but make sure it is with Steve Perry. In later years they had other singers but no Steve, no Journey. Also Steve’s solo career.
Do your self a big favor. Go down the Journey rabbit hole. And do the live versions-especially live in Houston. Mother Father is epic. Don’t stop believing, Open Arms and Faithfully are musts. Hell, just do the whole Houston concert!
Start with their first album and just work your way through. I also recommend listening to Boston, start with the first album, first song and work your way through. Of course, Rush, Pink Floyd and Zeppelin have to be in rotation.
Love your reaction to this song. One of my favorites. If you haven't yet, check out the Steve Perry song titled Oh Sherrie. This is another awesome song!
