Loved the editing. Especially in the beginning, with the editor pushing the door, and swinging from the chandelier 😆

I love the editor inserting themselves into the door push and such. LMFAO

I remember this was the first real horror movie I ever watched. I was around 12 years old, and celebrating new years at a friends house with my family. At around 1am, we decided it would be a good idea to watch this movie, with all of the lights turned off. And I was shitting bricks through most of the movie. When we got to the end scene, where she throws his body at the camera we are looking through, my friends dad slammed open the door to the room and yelled, and we all screamed our lungs out. Not sure it was good parenting, but now it's a pretty fun memory 😅

Man, there was nothing like seeing this movie at midnight in a crowded theater in October. I remember people literally running out of the theater.

Apparently, on the day this film came out, there were people walking out of the room because they were legitimately scared

This movie wasn't that terrifying, but we once had a marathon and watched all 4 at one go and it was actually horrifying xD we were so scared no one wanted to go back to their rooms. Oh this movie had like a 200k budget lol Masterful edit!

I was about 21 when this came out. I saw it in the theater with a group of friends and was terrified. The anticipation of a jump scare that would never come had me on edge. I had more of a hard time sleeping for a while after seeing it. It's like, your room and bed are a sacred space, and having this entire movie essentially be an invasion and violation of that sacred space made it all the more frightening

Great reaction Ange! I did see this in theaters and I was hooked. Low budget suspense can work really well. …and the bad news… You don’t need to watch the entire series, but you should watch 2. It’s a bit more polished and provides much more story. IMHO 2 was the best paranormal activity

The spider eating tangent alone was worth every min of this review.

Lmao, I hadn't seen this in years and your anticipatory anxiety gave me more anxiety than the movie did by itself. My request (for further October spookiness) is Coherence (2013), which is more trippy than scary, and I think you'd really enjoy it.

I’ll never forget first seeing this in theaters. It was only select theaters so the screening was on one of the smaller screens. It was my first year in college, the theater was right next to the college, so all the other people were also students. On the jump scares, there were so many laughs to the reactions in the theater 😂 probably my favorite memory ever in a theater

I saw it in theaters. It was the only film I've ever seen where everyone was scared after. You could tell how people were behaving, the way they huddled together and kept talking on a way you knew they felt very uncomfortable

When I saw this in the Theatre, about half way into the film... the film started to melt and catch fire. It took them a bit of time, to fix things. Was it intentional? Accidental? Or something else?! I love when anyone watches this movie, I still remember watching it in the theater when it first came out. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, specially at the end of the movie. You have to watch the next 2 movies in the franchise .

If you want a movie in the same wheelhouse but better (imo) you should watch 'grave encounters'. Both that one and the sequel are genius.

After this, you should watch "A Haunted House" starring Marlon Wayans. It's a spoof movie that will help you calm down lol. He also helped make and star in the first 2 "Scary Movie" franchise films which were also spoofs of other horror films.

I remember when this first came out everyone was rattling on about it and I decided to film myself watch the entire thing, I had a 1.5hr video of me blankly staring at the screen through photo booth, these movies aren’t really my thing this was much more entertaining to watch hahaha

This was an independent film that went viral after it was released because it was so scary and inspired by actual real life hauntings. A lot of people were convinced it was real for a while. It was the same way with The Fourth Kind which is another amazing found footage horror movie, but it's about alien abductions rather than hauntings.

After we watched it we waited outside in the dark to be picked up by my friends mom... 🤣 I love horror movies, but this type of movies are really best for me.
