FISETIN: A flavonoid that can allow you to live longer and stay healthier? How? By working as a senolytic that's as powerful as dasatinib and quercitin combined.
Fisetin is present in a lot of our brightly colored fruits and vegetables, but in such minute quantities that you'll want to supplement. And I'll be giving away a jar of fisetin at the end of this video.
We'll be discussing what fisetin is, how it works, and how it impacts aging. We'll also be talking about how to take it and some bioavailability considerations.

Like to win a free jar of fisetin? Just leave a comment below and I'll pick my fav in about a week. I'll leave an email address as a reply and whoever wins needs to send their contact info to that email address. I'll forward that contact info to DoNotAge.com, the providers of the free jar of fisetin, and they'll ship the free jar to the winner! OK, so I screwed up. I got an email from DoNotAge informing me that the discount code LANCE is for a 5% discount, not a 10% discount like I said. So sorry!

Hey Lance, I'm a chemistry student. I would like to point out that the solvents you listed are indeed all organic, except for water which is polar and inorganic. Of course, you could dissolve your fisetin in alcohol, acetone, or DMSO, but I hope I do not have to point out why that's a horrible idea... Solvents, as the name implies dissolve a fraction of what they're put into contact with, and I would not be surprised if they would dissolve a fraction of internal membranes in the body. A quick fix for the problem you're describing would be to consume the fisetin with or dissolve it in some olive oil, as this is. This could have the added benefit of activating SIRT1, since oleic acid is proven to be a very strong activator.

Discovered your channel just today, Lance. Thank you for your work. I'm excited about Fisetin, even though it's in early stages of research. I don't think the proteolytic enzymes, serrapeptase and nattokinase, are considered senolytics, but I'm sure a fan of these. Do they also clear sensecent cells? I know they work on scar tissue and plaques.

I take Alive By Science's liposomal fisetin. According to a study from the Mayo, the new recommended dosage is 20/mg/kg a day. However, since it's a lot more bioavailable than normal fisetin, a lot of people are halving that. For me, that comes to about 1g, or 25 pumps (37.5 mg per pump), per day, and I do that for 3 consecutive days. Then, a month later, I repeat and continue for 5 months total.

@unholyquail4560
@unholyquail4560 3 года назад
So I started doing some math based on the mice test and the dosages used. Like you said eating 3 pounds of strawberries at once seems kind of cracy. But can we achieve the same number of the 60 mg/kg as they did in mice studies JUST by using food? For myself I weight 66 kg so I need about 3960 miligram of fisetin to mimic the dosages of the study. But like you said they used a hit and run strategy but found a instantaneous effect and a constant effect throughout the period. Now I do not know how fisetin is processed in the body, wether it is stored and used over time ect. But what if we instead of dosing the 3960 miligram of fisetin we try to obain it in that 8 weeks of time? It gives us 56 days of eating to get to that level. Now personally I am plant based so everything I eat will have flavones, flavenoids and isothiocyanates in them. One medium strawbverry is 12 grams on average giving me 1.92 miligram of Fisetin. So one strawberry a day will get me 107,52 miligram of fisetin in that 56 day time window. But I rather dump around 150 grams of strawberries in my smoothy. But that still only gives me 1.344 miligram of fisetin in 56 days. So unless people want to go crazy on the strawberries everyday to get the therapeutic dose you will probably not get to it for the impact of these studies. But for people that want to maintain their youth.. eating a plant based diet that contains lots of onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, kale, blueberries, broccoli will however get you alot of the flavanoids mentioned in the study. Like the Curcuming, reservatrol, quercitin, sulphoraphane. These food also align nicely with the concept of Triage theory in nutrition making sure you get all the minerals and vitamins you need in abudance for all your youth perserving functions. So my conclusion is (I am only 31 atm) is that using a Whole Food Plant Based diet will get me everything I need to maintain at a low level of senescent cells without having to reach for the high therapeutic dosages. And If I wanted to do a "cleanup" to catch up on my bad behaviour in the past I would do that by using a fasting mimicing diet (FMD) onece every 6 months to keep a clear slate. But when already older and having more senescent cells diet alone doesn't seem to be cutting it. So then I would do the fisitin hit and run strategy to see if it could benefit me in any shape or form. The good thing about flavonoids is that they hardly come with any negative side effects unlike compounds as NAD+ that impact the system in a more intense way.
@unvrse
@unvrse 2 года назад
That's a very interesting way of looking at this! Looking at a target dose per month. Let's say 50% is absorbed ( random guess) you could take 10 days of 800 mg per month. Or 20 days 400mg, 20 days nothing and cycle that.
@incognitotorpedo42
@incognitotorpedo42 2 года назад
The problem with this dose per month strategy is that drugs don't usually work that way. To get a therapeutic effect, you need the drug to hit a certain concentration in the body. Your body is continually metabolizing and excreting the drug, so if you take a little bit at a time, you never achieve the therapeutic concentration level. Since you're only 31, you don't need to worry much about senescent cells at the moment, and have the luxury of waiting for the numerous clinical trials of fisetin as a senolytic to be published. Things should get clearer in a year or two.
@korakatar7921
@korakatar7921 Год назад
Read on how long fisetin stays in your body. The plasma levels of fisetin need to be at a therapeutic level for 4 hours at a minimum to achieve the senolytic benefits. The low dose approach will never achieve that.
@thomasfederuik6370
@thomasfederuik6370 11 месяцев назад
if 1 strawberry gives you 1.92 mg of fisetin, why would 13 strawberries only give you 1.344 mg? by your own numbers,it should provide 24.96 mg or 1.398g (1398mg).

Interesting. I've taken a similar dose, 3 consecutive days per month and I've not had a similar experience. I have no idea why you're experiencing what you are. I can only say that everyone is different, with different reactions to drugs and supplements. That's enough fisetin to shock the system, so the tiredness doesn't surprise me, even if I didn't experience it. But the elevated heartbeat seems a little weird. Good luck. Hello Ann, this is only my point of view, is that you took to much antioxidant. (it's my own experience, I've got the same after several months of intake of omega 3) Because the Fisetin is a bioflavonoid antioxidant but moreover the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA have "normaly" a cardiovascular benefits such as prevention of low blood pressure. But if you take too much antioxidant it's not good for the healf as well as if you never intake antioxidant. You must have the good balance. Never forget that you have also antioxidant in the food.

Although I love Live Extension, when it come to fisetin, they don't seem to offer it in therapeutic doses. I know that many of the senolytics target different types of senescent cells, so I would assume that stacking them would be effective.
@chadcooperconsulting
@chadcooperconsulting 3 года назад
@@LanceHitchings i agree. Fisetin only targets one type of senescent cell. The dasatinib + quercetin targets another set. I don't think they are syngergistic together. There is a trial comparing F to D+Q. Well see how that works. I see benefit to both applied serially as it will hit and run a broad set of cell types.
@chadcooperconsulting
@chadcooperconsulting 3 года назад
@@LanceHitchings additionally, bioavailability through nanoemulsification is a bit of a misnomer. The nanoformulations only act like an extended release pill. They claim you need less because its bioavailable, but research says otherwise. I suspect they offer lower doses because its expensive, not because it works better. Using 98% fisetin extract works just fine for hit and run.
@chadcooperconsulting
@chadcooperconsulting 3 года назад
@@DJWeiWei there is confusion about what bioavailability means. There is bioaccessability, which is how much is potentially available to be absorbed. Most nanoformulations increase the bioaccessability making it like an extended release surviving gastric breakdown, usually through encapsulating it in a bubble. It still has to be absorbed by the small intestine, pass through the liver into the blood, and be transported to the cell membrane, absorbed by the cell (bioavailability), then actually do work (bioactivity). For fisetin, it is not very soluble, so it is hard to become absorbed by small intestine. Nanoformulations can take individual particles of the extract, coat in a bubble, which makes is easier to be absorbed. Its limited by particle size, the type of bubble, and how well it separates into individual particles. So life extension says they have some evidence of bioavailability in the lab, and presume this includes bioactivity. However, all mice and human trials use non-nanoformulated fisetin with success. Life extension fisetin formulation is about 30 bucks a month, but unformulated costs about 5 bucks from bulk suppliers. Go with what is proven to work, and is cheaper as well.

Logically think this through. Using fisetin in a hit and run dosage schedule is ideal. Clinical trials are using 20mg/kg. When you are inhibiting mtor and other pathways, you want the volume turned to 11. You need to push the protien expression way beond what a senescebt celks likes, because it cannot do it itself. You also want pro inflammatory signals suppressed as much as possible so the t cells can go killing. 1.5 grams for 3 days x 3 weeks is what most triaks are doing.
