Oxeye Herring is a relatively medium-sized fish from the Megalopidae family. In some areas in Indonesia, this fish is also known as kampulan (South Sulawesi), seleh (Central Java), or trupang (East Java). In Australia this fish is known as the Indo-Pacific tarpon. This fish can be found in coastal areas or river estuaries throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific region, from the east coast of Africa to the Pacific islands.
