Its a dream of mine to visit the Pacific northwest. What amazing country. That looked like a hike, for sure, but the trout were so darn beautiful it was worth it.

There was someone that stayed up there and had a fire. The fishing would get boring pretty quick with such a small body of water. But I think you would love it. Washington is full of high mountain lakes like this if you don't mind hiking.

I was so sore for the next 3 days. They are beautiful fish. I didn't keep any. It's such a little pond and I don't think they grow very quickly. Besides, I have more fish than I know what to do with at home.

It was a cricket fly. I think it's made of foam. I use aquel to make the flys float (flyagra is another good gel). I'm not a fly guy, but sometimes I dabble.

What lake/area is this? I'm in Snoqualmie and am looking for hike in lakes that are 3-5 miles

Should have brought the .22 and had a little grouse snack. Beautiful spot to fish. Those golden trout are real purdy.

Unfortunately, I don't have a .22 or a hunting license yet. But grouse tops the list of birds I want to eat. Even including chicken and turkey.

That lake is okay but there are better. There is one fly pattern that knocks them around up there. You'd likely spook less of them if you didn't slap&peel the line off the water so aggressively. Used to never see anyone else up there but that's changed that last 3 years in the decade I've gone there, RU-vidrs don't help.

Thanks for the tips. I think the more people getting out to fish the better it is. More revenue to state fisheries and WDFW does a lot of stocking to these lakes. You should be less selfish. It's great that more people get to appreciate the beauty of Washingtons high mountain lakes.
