When you know you're going to be catching a lot of schoolies, one of the best practices you can do is fish with barbless hooks. All you have to to is take your pliers and crush down the barbs and you are good to go. From there, catching and releasing fish is ten times easier, as well as a much safer practice for both you and the fish. It helps protect future generations of fish from barbs potentially killing some fish when you are catching so many.
