Thank you 👍🏻 hope we get some. I pretty much have to drive 4 hours north to get safe enough ice to fish on. In a few weeks I might be able to drive 2 hours north. I do like my ice fishing. 🎣 hope to upload some ice vids yet this winter. Thanks again, looking forward to watching more of your channel 👈🏻
I was going to go down the same day. I would of seen you there. Yeah I was down there at night had a couple walleye follow my bait in but wouldn’t touch it. See a few, I’d cast right to them and they wanted nothing to do with anything I’d throw in front of them. Haven’t even looked at that film yet lol.
(Sorry, going to be a 'fish nerd') Lake Whitefish are a member of the Cisco family which are round in cross section and have an adipose fin. They are related to trout. The video does not show the head much but the mouth shape would lead me to think it was a Cisco but not a Whitefish. Herring is a name used for a bunch of freshwater fish that are not actually Herring. Most of those are laterally compressed. (wow that was even more nerd than usual) Thanks for the video
wow that was decent whatever it was i think cisco , you never know what you pull out of there, i was at pier 4 last week hoping to catch some white perch or white bass and had no luck even though i've seen a youtuber catching some there but did not know what month it was , im hoping they are still active cause id like to try again soon although it's a bit of a trip from toronto, i did however catch a nice jumbo perch but too many gobies cleaning out my worms, another guy there showed me pics of large white bass he caught at pier 8 on spiner like mepps, im def gonna come back alone and spend more time scouting the area have you ever caught any of those there?
Yes the white perch are there now. A couple weeks ago we caught a couple, nothing big. I think the best way to keep those gobies away is to keep bait 3 to 4 feet off bottom/ it can makes a difference. Cool Tightlines man. There might be white perch bitting in the Toronto harbours/fronts. Those white perch seem to be showing up everywhere as time goes on.
@@outfishontario1272 well the thing is im using a pickerel rig or i think what you call a high low rig on worms or double hook drop shot so its not possible to stay that high off bottom besides i dont think its that deep in the waters around pier 4 , perhaps if i use spinner or maybe bobber and worm? it depends at what depth they biting unless they go up and down but i was wondering if the white perch or white bass bite will get better and still be there in july? i been dreaming of targeting those species but i got nothing last week and really like to get more info on the best times for that area , in harbor front you say hmmm idk i dont like catching fish from lake ontario specially when its down town im not too sure about the pollution but even worst the taste might be bad just like the smell in certain areas and i fish for food , only other place i caught them was in detroit river in windsor as we sometimes travel there but im trying to find place closer to where i live and right now hamilton aint bad id like to keep giving it a shot specially pier 8 next time so if you have any idea when the bite gets hot and what time of the month id appreciate it, i know they run all summer i think
