*Overall **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I feel the Shadowfire 360 offers excellent value for those who are new to tenkara and don't want to break the bank on their first rod purchase.*

Steve you remind me so much of my dad. He taught me how to catfish and got me hooked on big catfish when I was 3 years old. I'm 27 now and me and him find time to go fishing at least once a month and even more in the springtime. Your vids are awesome and I hope your kids love fishing as much as you

Thanks for the tip on bringing up deep fish. I respect them and wouldn't know that without your help. I use 30lb braid for everything with a reel that has 22lbs drag. Have you ever had a big one break that? Thanks again and like all your vids.

I realize that this is an older video but I just recently found your channel and am watching all of these videos. I just wanted to say that your videos are truly some of the most informative that I have found on the subject of catfishing. The great rigging videos, showing not just the rigs themselves but how to fish them as well have been some of my favorites. I live in MD and your methods seem to be universal as they work here as well. Just wanted to commend you for putting out videos that are actually educational to our unique breed.... the catfish angler.

Hi Steve, I really enjoy your catfish videos. You are really good at explaining just about everything you need to know to catch catfish. We fish in lake erie, and sometimes in the Sandusky river in Ohio, and we only catch channel cats. I never caught a blue cat but now I know how because of you. I will be trying my luck this sumer in ohio or tennessee. Thanks for the great videos. Regards, Terry

Hey Steve, I don’t pretend to know what You Know On cat fishing but will tell You, They make a device for releasing the air from the fishes swim bladder and normally it doesn’t harm the fish, They are required when fishing in deep water in Florida, Just Saying, I Really like Your Videos And Watch them quite often.

Do you ever fish any creeks? I live in omaha Nebraska and I go out to ashland and fish salt creek a lot it feeds into the platte. If you're ever in the area check it out! Last year some kids brought in a 96 pound blue it made the news! I've been catching a lot of 10 to 20 pound blues flatheads and channels but it can be a bit of a wait and a pain in the ass with all the short nose gar in that creek but it's worth it. I've been out there 16 hours straight they're hitting best from 5am tell 9 am and 7pm tell about 10pm! Let me know if you ever make it out there-- catfish run/salt creek. Keep up the videos man I watch your tube more than tv

Hey Mr. Douglas how do you know when to drift fish or just fish normally on the bottom? Is it something you just feel like doing or other factors involved like pressure time of year water temp etc etc?
@SteveDouglastheCatfishDude

Bryce Coffman drifting is more of a late spring to fall technique that works with or without current. however if there is some current i may anchor up a bit on some structure.

Got a question for you Steve but first want to thank you for all of your videos but the question is i was on the Tennessee river today looking for big cats and only caught smaller ones i was fishing the ledges on river bed roughly 40ft using pretty big bait and 8/0 hooks and got one in around 15 and others were between 5-10 is their any reason behind that was i doing something wrong thanks.
@SteveDouglastheCatfishDude
@SteveDouglastheCatfishDude 8 лет назад
+stephenjray1988 sounds like you were in the zone, sometimes when the weather changes the fish can be a bit unpredictable on not be too active. this time of year too , dont forget to look a bit shallower.

+Mirageman0373 NO IT DONT TAKE THAT LONG IF YOU WANT TO KILL THEM, I release everything and promote management but when you pull one up out of 60 foot of water to fast, the gases will build up in their bellies and cause them FLOAT ON THE SURFACE to not be able to go back down so they will float till they die. BUT IF YOU PULL THEM UP SLOWLY LIKE I DID IN THIS VIDEO, they can release the gases before you land them so they can safely go back to the 60 foot depths but you being the professional one and all you probably knew that kind sir.

good video,just one thing,if your fishing inside the tennessee state line anywhere your only allowed three attended rods with single hooks. so here where i fish the tennessee river on kentucky lake in west tennessee that 2nd hook on the third rig would have put it over the 3 hook limit,and our game wardens are not giving you a break cause you didnt know the fishing laws,one treble hook on one rig is all you can legaly fish,so heads up if you use treble hooks,thats just inside tennessee,alabama and kentucky have there on rules,and you can launch in one state and fish another just follow the regs for limit from state you launched from,if you step out of your boat to shore to fish you then must have a licence from that state and follow creel limits there,wow,gets a little complicated and the fines are stiff,very stiff in tennessee, JUST F Y I
