I grew up in Milton and it's good to see the fishery in and around the Escambia bay is still productive. I lived on Mulatto Bayou and have many memories fishing those waters!

Black Drum.....fillet em cook em on the grill skin side down.....just fillet em don’t remove skin it will create a bowl.....just baste the fish with a little butter and your favorite seasoning....or just your favorite seasoning.....can’t go wrong

Funny thing here in Louisiana around the rigs offshore, you can catch them at night with a plastic jig. Daytime they won't touch it. Best bait I have found for them is scrape some barnacles in a bucket, use a 1/0 hook & tight line them. When you are scraping the barnacles, they will eat out of your hand.

I have Cadence rod+reel, but the lighter version. Medium heavy with 4000 size reel, I use it for nearly all fish, except that needs ultralight. People don't really know about them, they aren't expensive but they work really good! You can find them on amazon also, just have to search for them.

I got the revised version of the banjo minnow. Hopefully it'll help me land more fish. This summer has been really tough for me. I fish from the shore by the dock. I go up and down the shore line on low tide as far as I can. When high tide comes only way to go the out going direction towards the ocean is with a quality kayak or quality bass boat. Don't ever use a flimsy boat you'd regret it with heavy corrent. I've seen this banjo minnow catch people tons of fish. Lately all id catch is 2 fish which is sad. Usually I'll catch close to 20 fish per trip. Smallies, catfish, big chubs and such Hopefully this will turn around for me. I covered tons of water as I said it's been tough.

Hey Dick, tell me those Cadence rods and reels aren't awesome rigs...I have a Cadence CC6 ultralight spinning combo and I LOVE it. It is BY FAR my favorite ultralight ever. I've caught fairly big bass on it and it never even flinches. I can imagine their medium and medium heavy tackle is awesome too.
