thanks for the video... very instructional as always. Just fyi there are places to store spare fuses and the fuse puller on the inside of the fuse box lid.
Another good video. I noticed the exterior floor lighting wasn’t lit up when you unlocked the vehicle. Is that a separate setting or the result of removing the fuse?
Hi Matt, Do you know if once the 2.1 update has been installed the alarm issue goes away? Is the alarm issues because the when the 2.1 update is installing is puts a drain on the battery? Thanks.
Just to say it out loud; a horn is required vehicle equipment in all 50 states. If you happen to do this mod and your state does annual vehicle inspections - be sure to restore the horn before getting the inspection. Then you can re-mod your Fisker if you want.
Hi Matt Great information. Just wondering where you get those instructions from. I have a crack windshield here in Uk , taking ages to get hold of the screen today from Autoglass. Expecting to be fitted but after an hour, they call me that they will not going to try because it's lack of manual. Fisker here has almost stalled now. So I hope you could able to help if you have a manual or a link for this fitting. The people here certainly don't bother or even heard about this Ev. Thank you
I have a copy of the service manual, there are some pages that discuss the windshield. I grabbed the two pages and made a PDF. See this link: drive.google.com/file/d/1-NnrnBAxldOS4wQlZdEMzEvneLJTuM37/view?usp=drive_link
@@MTNRanger You are amazing. How you get these information? I will pass this to the installer and hopeful they willing fix it. I did not see it need to remove the wipers or the bottom part of black cover along the screen fluid refill? Not even need to open the bonnet right. Thank you so much
@@hlee2546 I haven’t looked into the details of replacing the windshield , so I’m not sure if the wipers/,cowl are affected. We have received a service manual two months ago. I can give you a link if you wish.
Can you clarify the onscreen note about 2.1. What happens in 2.1 that impacts the horn? Do you not recommend this mod to foks with 2.1? I am very concerned for my neighbors that the alarm will go off, so I want to implement this fix. But unclear what the 2.1 note means.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I just meant that update 2.1 has caused numerous Oceans to get bricked due to draining the 12V battery. As a precaution, removing the horn/siren will make it easier to get into the hood if that does happen. Less disruption and annoyed neighbors. Even better, use a 12V battery tender so the update 2.1 does not cause any issues.
The pedestrian warnings system (PWS) has a speaker under the car near the front right wheel. Undo about four screws/clips and pull down the underbody cover and reach inside. You need to disconnect the wire plug and that's it.
Do you know where i can find a list of what all the fuses go to? I’m having a fan issue currently and want to stop it (while diagnosing only) as it keeps wearing the battery down.
Are you talking about the fan by the rear view mirror? I plan on doing a video on the four fuse boxes. Here is the link to the documents: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cawoiArlaFXLCkhhiPO_zkvIl1yHV78J?usp=sharing
@@MTNRanger Okay, thanks Matt. I guess I will be getting that, too. I just have nightmares of the car alarm going off in our garage in our condo or while my FOU is parked in my garage at work. I wish I could schedule when to accept the update.
Matt, Good stuff. Question, the service lid on my car is made up of 2 pieces, the front plate and the clip plate. The clip plate, right side only, has detached from the front plate. The front plate and clip plate still attach to the car but the right side of the service lid needs to be reattached to the clip plate. I tried glue, it didn’t work but maybe there’s a specific glue needed to refasten the 2 pieces? Thoughts?
@@MTNRanger…just FYI; I reset the clip plate to the service lid using a high strength epoxy plastic binder, recommended. Everything set up nice and the service lid locks into place, as it should. The high strength epoxy did the trick.
There are many reasons over the last year. Some of the cars had issues with stressed batteries during shipping. Some have the negative terminal issue where the sensor is blocked due to the angle. EVs in general are very hard on 12V batteries due to their inherent design (high voltage pack is separate from the 12V for safety, etc). Finally, there is a lot of vampire drain when the car is parked due to the subsystems running. The 2.0 and 2.1 updates have relieved a lot of that, but there is still significant for some Oceans. Previous software let the 12V battery get too low (below 12.0 volts) and this caused a lot of errors on the driver screen to show up. Even if everything is working fine, you can expect 2-3 years at most for a 12V battery. I have replaced mine twice in my six year old Tesla.
@MTNRanger I had no idea that it is expected to only last 2-3 years. Will there be a "low 12v battery" indicator? Once it dies, how/where do we replace it? Sorry about all the questions, just stressed.
@@jeffreymills4307 Yes, the car can give a low 12V battery indicator. But not one indicating that the battery needs to be replaced. To keep the battery in best condition, I recommend using a battery tender when not being driven for a while. Also so the 2.1 update doesn't brick the car, I also recommend using the tender. Do a search on my channel, I have a lot of videos on the 12V battery.
@@jeffreymills4307 I will do a video at some point giving some options for replacing the 12V battery. The instructions are in the service manual. drive.google.com/file/d/1-2-PYUorSsCnBvq5tU5EHBgDNF2mrEWa/view?usp=drive_link
