Thanks for the video MTN Ranger. Are you planning to permenetely leave the 12v Battery Health Indicator via OBD-II on there, or should we remove it and check the health at some freequency, say every week. I prefer to leave it after I purchase, not sure if it will affect any other functions of the care or battery. Please share your advice. Thanks once again.
“Quick to install…” - sure, once you figure out to get to the two bolts behind the felt wheel well cover! Wish I had your video a couple months ago when I installed these same aero flaps. Thanks for another great video, Matt!
To be determined. I still think there should be a hole where the tape is - to better secure on the car. I may modify one side to compare with the other. I will do a follow up video at some point.
I do a lot, too much, 3D printing. Some of those parts should have been done on a resin printer for a smoother finish. I see filament print lines. I'm not sure why as even a high quality 3D printer does a better job on not leaving such visible print lines per layer or on the top layer like I see in the door handle inserts. Or at least some post production. But so be it as I don't have time to do a competitive product.
I'm not a 3D printer expert or even have one. I have seen other 3D printed designs for the door handle inserts from another provider and they look similar. But, yes, the TPU aero flap is a bit unfinished looking in some sections.
@MTNRanger I guess I would be less concerned about the cosmetic look of the flaps vs. the functional stability. The door handles. I see the 3D printed lines on the surface. There are ways, post production and better printers, that would eliminate them or make them nearly undetectable. Post production is an important part of commercial 3D printed parts
@@MTNRanger up to you, just my observation. For me, I make all my own 3D prints so I would make those pieces on my own. The luxury of having too many 3D Printers and doing it for 7+ years. Cheers and, as always, great video.
Maan, I was really hoping you'd take the door handle covers off to replace your inserts so I could see what the LED light looks like / how I could possibly test or replace mine ;)
@@MTNRanger I ended up taking it apart - only took a few minutes. The LED light strip that faces inboard to the handle had a tear in it, but the wires are so close together that i'm not sure I can solder them back together. I heard you can still buy parts from Chevalier in the UK, from a local Fisker Tech / Mobile repair guy, but I'm not seeing any sort of store front / web site to do so.
@@MTNRanger well that sucks - I just took the led strip out since it was torn anyhow - and it looks like 2 or 3 of the leds were melted / stuck to the handle. Perhaps I just take them out of all of the handles so it's at least consistent. Well, only if I can't get a replacement.
Yes, some owners are actively debadging their cars. I told the seller about this and they are looking into it. I did notice that they offer a wheel center cap decal that has "Ocean" on it.
@@lowslowflyer ya I need to vinyl over the badges and see about new wheel hub covers. I doubt there will be a solution for the steering wheel but that's ok. What did you use for the round badges outside?
@Zakabitz There is a see through vinyl coating they use for break light covers. When the light is on (luckily only briefly) it is transparent but the rest of the time it is blacked out. It works well with my dark metallic gray satin finish.
