Fitting a Whiteline Rear Anti Roll Bar (ARB) to my MK6 Fiesta ST150

When I found out one of my subscribers had a Whiteline Rear Anti Roll Bar (ARB) for sale I just had to have it, even if it meant a 200+ mile round trip to South Wales to collect it. I got back really late but I was excited to get the ARB fitted so I spent the night prepping and painting it ready to fit the following day - and my god was it worth it! Just like when I fitted the Collins Performance Roll Restrictor, I mounted a GoPro under the car to see if I could see the difference as well as feel it.
A massive shoutout and thank you to Joe who hooked me up with the ARB and the Mountune boot mat! Hopefully I'll be buying some more parts from him in the near future.
If you wanted to get the same paint I used in this video you'll need the anodised silver base coat www.ebay.co.uk... and the red colour/tint coat www.ebay.co.uk... or pick another colour of your choice.

Its easier to install if you put the rear on jack stands and let the rear axle hang as low as possible. Keeping it jacked up makes it harder to install as it stays under load. :)

The effect of the ARB is hard to notice but after a while but you come to realise the whole thing feels so much flatter, it's brill! I put mine on the middle setting as well as it's a great balance between firmness and comfort. Quality video as always mate! I'm running Michelin PS4s on all 4 corners, managed to get 4 of them at Qwik Fit fully fitted for just under £400 last year.

I used long, thick cable-ties around the ARB and the axel to support it while I fitted the bolts.

Hmm.. isn't the whole rear "axle" solid on the Fiesta? Essentially a large rear anti-roll-bar? I'm having trouble understanding why the arb improves things...

They make a huge difference to handling. I fitted a 22mm DNA rear arb to my mk7 diesel with st180 shocks & eibach lowering springs.

They’re a great handling mod (had one on for well over a year) but they do have a design flaw you need to watch out for. They will literally unwind the shock mounting bolt! You need to install them with the flat plate pushed hard up against the underside of the trailing arm of the beam, then really torque up and locktite the bolts. If you pull on your engineers hat and look at how the bar twists as it does it’s job you’ll see the issue is the design. It would have been better of Whiteline to mount the leading cross section to the beam (like the Clio guys) and then do a single point mount at the rear with a more conventional drop link style setup. The other thing you may find is the bolts used to retail the bar to the mounts can stretch and fail depending on the fit of your particular bar and car. I pulled 2 bolts about 1.5mm longer in regular driving. Upgraded to proper automotive graded bolts and no issue there. For all it’s faults it is a great mod that is worthy of giggling like a school girl :)

another great vid mate. dunno if they do these for fiestas but years ago i put a lower strut brace on my peugeot and it made such a massive difference on bends, especially having a top one aswell.

u won’t regret it for sure ..coupled with front strut brace ..good set of lowering springs and decent tyres on standard suspension , makes a hell of a difference on these little st’s , just don’t let off going round a bend , power round , arse end can get a tad twitchy otherwise ..

Definitely doesn’t function correctly with it not mounted to the axle. This is literally just stiffening the rear beam. When the beam flexes the bar also flexes thus not actually doing anything, mount it to the axle with unbolts and is will push and pull correctly this way. Great vid anyway

comes with every thing you need to fit to the car of purchased new ..2 brackets / 1 bar / 4 m10 bolts / nuts ..got 1 on my st500 ..great little mod …defo makes a difference …

The original one white line did had big U-bolts around the twist beam and drop links to the shocks. This is the later version which apparently doesn't
