A hamburger is $12, get a medium fry and it’s $5.50 get a regular drink and it’s $3. That is 20.50 per meal. a meal at mcdonald’s is $12 or less. I can go to a fancy and very good italian restaurant for that same price and get 100x more full while having a better experience and extremely better taste. Five guys wants to be a fast food spot, they should not charge restaurant prices when their buying potatoes for DIRT CHEAP, and hamburger for DIRT CHEAP. Their margins on hamburgers and fries are the most in fast food and are INSANE. They buy potato’s and cook them fresh so they SAVE money. also half the fries u get are either way under cooked or burnt.

If I'm spending $40, I'll get something else other than hamburgers.

I don't bother with them anymore either. Last trip oh maybe 6 or 8 months ago It was almost $19 for just the usual burger and fries and no drink. Yeah no. The burger is decent, fries not that great and a long wait with annoying staff. Yeah no.

I find the whole things really funny. I’ve been to five guys a few times but never paid attention to the price. I didn’t think it was that great so I typically avoid their burgers. I wonder if the price contributes to people’s observed quality. I may try a five guys again just to confirm that their burgers are mediocre.

Their fries are awful. Like they don’t wash them properly before deep frying them. They taste like all the starch is still on them.

Where I live an In N Out and Five Guys is really close together.I just get fries at five guys and the rest at In N Out. Best of both worlds in terms of food and price.

Funny thing is, It most likely has preservatives in it. Fresh means its not frozen. I can go to Walmart and buy a pound of ground beef that's never been frozen but, my guy, full of all shorts of stuff.

I have trouble with processed food that has high fat content. 5 guys truly doesn't trigger my allergy as Mcdonals and other frozen burgers and sausages do. So no idea so far which is the trigger but it's a problem I have since I moved to the US.

I’ve had both and in n’ out doesn’t even compare especially when it comes to freshness and flavor. The fries are disgusting and taste like cardboard, the burgers are a little, and I’m not really sure about their claim that their food is fresh because if you compare it to five guys it doesn’t taste anywhere near as fresh. Five guys is fresh and local to whatever farmers are in their area or state.
