that one scene where Riri tried to recreate the same flight test as Tony's mark 2 so effortlessly, even magically made the icing problem disappear, my heart was crushed, that ironman scene was vandalized by some "genius teenager" who can do it effortlessly without any notable effort at all compared to Tony who literally had to test it with many, many trials and errors, literally undermining his legacy by making it something that can easily be replicated by a girl not even a third his age, even already advancing to energy repulsor tech in the first armor

And the thing is if she had some connection to Tony or had his designs that’d be totally fine! Like Peter Parker had Jarvis so it makes sense that his suits would be prevented against the issues Tony faced because HE ALREADY KNEW ABOUT THEM
@shawndashno6022

This is the reason Riri needed more time if they were going to go there, Instead, they shoehorned her into Wakanda Forever. She actually DID have Tony's schematics. She burned the copies before they left the warehouse. The problem is it's a "handwaved" sentence on how she got them, or how she got the materials to build it. I remember when Marvel cared about a character's backstory, especially when it's linked with a legacy hero. Oh well, that's too much to ask, guess I care a lot less now. 😂😂

@oniplus4545 9 месяцев назад
@@looinrims let's forget about diversity and stuff because "modern producers" will always do that shit to the point it's best to simply ignore it and actually talk about the actual problem of Riri's character development, at the very least ,I expected her to do that armor making thing AFTER she reached wakanda or something, not before those wakandan found her, like holy shit man, it's seriously baffling how she can make arc reactor that's much more efficient with scraps she found in some household junkyard, even tony and yinsen had to use extremely rare part from stark's super high tech missile, which is not even strong enough to fly mark 1 for more than few minutes and she effortlessly created something strong enough to fly for a prolonged period of time and even be able to shoot repulsor rays at her first makeshift ironman suit project I'm actually fine with her as a diverse ironman-ish female protagonist with a simple fix of her having actual development and connection as to why she is eligible to be ironheart, like for example, tony saved her and her family in the past, she got motivated, developing some smaller gadgets first, slowly building up her repertoire until somehow she tried to help others using her gadgets, getting some connections from some people she saved and getting supports in building even more advance gadgets to the point Shuri somehow caught wind of her technological prowess, secretly helping her with various knowledges and parts, and then finally got into making her first flying suit and AI system, let's see.....a single movie about her before wakanda forever should at least be sufficient introduction instead of simply introducing her outta nowhere already advancing to repulsor beam and efficient flying suit techs TLDR, yes, I actually expected something a wee bit better and got surprised at how much lower the producer can stoop just to introduce ironheart

The MCU after endgame is probably the best example of failing to heed the motto of “knowing when to quit while you’re ahead.” They should of let the franchise breath for a bit then started fresh after a break and more people would be invested and ready for a new direction, it also would have been financially sound in the long run instead of squeezing all they can out of the franchise now to the detriment of its long term legacy. I just don’t care about the universe after endgame; sadly Disney seems to be burning down all their other IP’s at the same time too.

Same. I didn’t even care much for spiderman far from home, even though they consider it part of the same phase as infinity war and endgame. You’d think after making billions they would have had the sense to sit and chill for a minute and plan out the next saga and phases with the same care as the infinity saga. Introduce spiderman fully as the new central character to the MCU. Let him stand on his own without moping and running to other heroes for validation and help fixing his problems. Finish acquiring the FF and X-Men and think about how to properly introduce them. I mean jeez, they could have just taken a year off, just one, to plan it all.

Wakanda had ships and buses more advanced than any other nation and similar to gechiles Thanos had and in GOG. I don't even think Endgame was the peak of the mountain. I think Infinity War was the peak of the mountain and it was all downhill from there. Infinity War was a much better movie than Endgame. Endgame wasn't terrible but it had a much less compelling version of the same villain, relied on Captain Marvel based deus ex machina not once but twice to bail out characters from situations she had no reason to even know were happening, contradicted its own time travel rules at the end with Captain America, and had one of the most cringey scenes in the MCU up to that point with the whole "girl power!" thing in the final battle. Sure, they've surpassed that level of cringe many times over since then, but at the time it stood out. For those reasons I think Infinity War was a better movie than Endgame and after IW is when things started going downhill. Captain Marvel was trash for a whole host of reasons we all know, Ant Man and the Wasp was one of the first MCU films to feature the current trend of making the female version of the male hero be better than him in every conceivable way. The cracks in this facade were showing before phase 4 even started.

With that in mind, we actually had several plot points revealed to us: like how when Black Widow was getting beaten by a masked individual, we quickly realized that HAD to be a woman under the mask; or when the big tough guy finally gets to show how big and tough he is, but finds himself fighting women…well…it was obvious what was going to happen. He didn’t get to beat a single one and was just a punching bag. So we tested your observation, and it was completely true.

I liked the way Wakanda Forever used that to create some "real" moments of loss. We got the actually see people grieve and those scene did a solid job. But as others have mentioned Black Panther was "snapped" for 5 years. The easiest path (yes Shuri took up the mantle of BP in the comics) was to have M'Baku take the lead. He challenged BP and fought for the throne of Wakanda. M'Baku had already completed most of a hero's journey and showed real growth in WF (that speech about "They view him as a god, we can't kill him." was incredible). If Disney wants to continue a Wakanda franchise, M'Baku is the lead.

I too enjoyed Loki, but tbh, I'm pretty sure it's all because of Tom Hiddleston. Loki is the character we know and love because he has an incredible actor portraying him. It was hard to get behind all the decisions the writers and directors made, but the actor made them bearable. Add Owen Wilson as a great opposite to him, and it was a lot a fun despite its failings. But when you pull it apart, it really doesn't make all that much sense. The Loki who'd been humbled by the loss of his mother and the destruction of his homeland died. The Loki who came to the TVA was a much earlier version who would never have picked up the emotional baggage of his dead counterpart from a few holo vids. He would've kept up his lying, trickster ways without a thought to helping anyone but himself. And don’t get me started on the weird relationship between him and Sylvie.

About point 4: that IS something that has happened time and time again in comics, so I can understand why they tried. The issue is that evenin the comics, it almost never sticks (unless the original character is someone obscure the audience doesn’t care about, like the original Captain Marvel). The replacement sticks around for a few years, and then the original inevitably returns. The only exceptions are for some reason DC characters - Green Lantern, Robin and the Flash - but those titles were established as not belonging to a single person decades ago, and crucially the replacements are usually not that different from the original. And even in those cases nostalgia often wins out and you end up with a whole corps of Green Lanterns all active at the same time.

I even found myself looking at origins and was eventually investing more time into marvel interests than dc. idk how, but they somehow managed to crumble all that. they had everyones full attention and turned it to a "lets no longer give a shit" disaster. i wasnt expecting infinity war or end game quality, i dont think anyone was, but holy shit how they managed to ruin everything they built is beyond me. My father used to always hate watching movies and being reminded of political issues and I always questioned why. I think he summed it up pretty well. "I watch movies to escape the world we live in, not be reminded of how bad it all really is. I'm already aware of these issues and I get they need addressing. That's why I watch the news. I don't watch movies to be reminded of it and if I did: I'd CHOOSE to watch those specific movies about the subject, like Schindlers List or something. I watch Alien or The Terminator to go on a visual adventure and forget the world for an hour or so. Not to be reminded that I'm a bad person with a sordid past." Why can't we have those adventures anymore? It seems everything has to be injected with a moral that doesn't match the story/adventure we're trying to escape to and instead of making it seem more real we're just diluting the plot. The cost of this is regressing away from the adventure/escape we all desire to experience.

If you remember watch all the OG Phase 1 movie, they have all the same recipe, which is the core value of movie based of human struggle that we are fell the same way as audience: Sacrificed (Captain America), Redemption (Iron Man), Belonging (Thor). In phase 4, We are bombarded by Marvel of soulless heartless protagonist who care about flexing their ability, looking badass, strong physical strength rather than a superheroes developing as a person (i.e. Tony Stark from rich asshole arrogant person to be a better person, Steve Roger from internal struggling self belonging to willing to sacrifice for a better world, Thor from arrogant self Centre sibling to a loving leadership person).

One thing that bugs me is how it almost feels like Marvel are hiring female actors, writers and directors that have all been sold into Marvel’s idea of “feminism,” to the point that when the time comes they have to produce content, these seeds of “what feminism in media should be” are merely subconscious extensions of the men’s expectations that have been force-fed to them. The result is almost all of the female-starring movies come out poor quality, focusing on “empowering women” rather than just making a good story. It instills a mindset of “oh, look what happens when we put women in charge, they ruin the quality of the movies,” almost like Marvel is trying to discretely implant this idea of female incompetence into our heads without us even noticing it. The problem with this is, that Marvel hires women that they know will fuck up because Marvel expects them to, and they feed these women ideas to almost purposefully make their ideas of empowerment into soulless, pandering cash-grab content, rather than just allowing women to make their own non-pandering content without passively suggesting to them how they should produce their own movies

The problem is that those "politics" boil down to "Side A good, Side B bad" and that's propaganda (unless it is about morally wrong things like war) Politics in media should be something like "Is side A good? Is side B justifiable?" Because then it makes the viewer/reader/player question their own beliefs and can bring some sort of discussion around it, rewarding the player/reader/viewer's intelligence.

But now the "moral conflicts" they could present aren't even conflicts anymore, they are presented as facts. "Men are bad. Women are good". That's it, the MCU states this as an unquestionable fact. The officer looking at a window, thinking about everything he's learned, that so many of the suicides had expressed a "nothing matters" view. He pulls out his pistol and checks the load and checks the safety is on and (this goes on for about 8 lines, slightly differing sentences/ ending the story) and puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger. A cult for people who never grow tired, grow out of it, or grow up. They have no concept of relativity - i.e. those kids who loved their Marvel films? Well, they now have jobs, or final year exams, or kids, pay taxes, pay rent or mortgages - they aren't going ti be able to stick around a lot of the time - especially if they aren't wanted or valued by the company. Those who were watching in the older age ranges, those with settled lives and disposable income are often into 2 kids, mortgage, rent, new job, maybe a divorce, illness and infirmity of parents, and so on. They can't stay "Disney adults" - most of the Disney employees are, it seems, and they singularly fail to realise that most of the world just really isn't like that and have failed to plan accordingly. What they are producing isn't appealing (by viewer percentages) to the younger ages, and they lost and willingly dismissed the audiences they had. I think the direction aspect of Phase 4 could have been better if they introduced the Kang Dynasty and the Multiverse plot right out of the gate, albeit still very obscured and not clear. The end credits of Endgame could have shown the Kang variants Ramu-Tut and Immortus discussing how humanity had advanced beyond what they expected, wielding incredible power and unlocking the secrets of travel through space and time, all without the aid of the Infinity Stones. But they would let humanity be since they showed no ambition towards exploring the multiverse, much less knowing it exists. Still, they would keep a close eye on them for the foreseeable future. And then the end credits scene of Quantumania would have been much more impactful and tense now that the Kang’s realize their empire can be toppled, and it wouldn’t feel like the overarching antagonists were thrown in near the end point of phase 4

What makes it beautiful is that the loyalty, trust, and affection between them is pure, true friendship. And that it exists because they mutually chose to grow it and maintain it.

@@rachelclark6393 Frodo and Sam are literally modelled after WWI soldiers who have gone through hell in the trenches together and form a bond few civilians will ever understand.

I realize from this video that I haven't seen a single Marvel video other than I think one episode of the Loki show since End Game. Spot on, sir. I have never even heard of many of the films/shows you talked about here. I just have zero interest in the MCU at this point.

James Gunn is going to give the final blow to the superheroes, all of his creations are parodies.

I held on to my DisneyPlus account with the optimistic hope like a parent looking at their teenage child thinking, “it’s just a short phase they will figure it out” . Nope,I was wrong I’m done with Disney. Drinker you were right good on you for seeing past the smoke and mirrors.

I think it's a big ship to turn around, especially when each movie supports the story of the next one. It feels like the success of Andor has shown Disney the true path, but it will take time to unclog the pipes.

Cancelled mine too! Even though it's only a few dollars more when bundled with Hulu it's the only way to really say you're unsatisfied. Everyone who continues to pay bc it's bundled or any reason is just contributing to the garage pile of Disney+

I think Disney+ is the reason why the MCU is garbage right now. Like Drinker said about quantity over quality. There has to be a reason to keep Disney+ and one way to ensure that is that there will be a new release coming up. How many have kept accounts because there is a new Marvel property coming up soon. We get that property and it sucks but a huge amount of people have already been suckered into keeping Disney+. I got rid of mine a long time ago as I realized that the new stuff was bland at best.

For a couple years now, I've been describing my relationship to the MCU as an abusive one. When we started out, everything was great! They were consistently doing good things and we were happy. Then there were a couple stumblings, but I was willing to forgive them because there was still more good than bad. Then they started to hurt me and I was having to make a proactive effort to forgive them because I still remembered how good they used to be. Nowadays, the MCU and I are undergoing trial separation, I check up on them every now and again but I don't see them in person.

Is it just me or the first few year sucked hard too. I liked the captain america movies, the first iron man, but the rest was very mediocre. I actually liked the infinity war, ragnarok and guardians of the galaxy too, but the rest was very forgettable. I can't say that I am a big fan of phase 4 but I also can't say that any Marvel movies were great. They are entertaining and fun to watch, but none of them are great movies. I feel like the peoples saying they were great movies probably saw them as kids.The only marvel projects that were actually great in my opinion are Daredevil and the first season of Jessica Jones and both were not in the MCU.
@AndersonMallonyMALLONY-EricCF
@@bulleyes9059 Yeah didnt get this notion either. Thor 1, Thor 2, IM 2, IM 3, IHulk, CptMarvel, SpiderMan HC, Avengers 2, all mediocre movies. Even Doctor Strange missed huge opportunities with its titular character.

I would add that the new premise with the Multiverse gets rid of any and all tension when you know there's another version of that character somewhere. It's why they can just kill off prof X and Reed Richards in such a throw away manner because they can just get another one from a different universe should they need to. It's like playing a video game but with infinite health, literally no tension or stakes until maybe the very end when a multiverse level threat arrives. As it stands, every movie feels like filler or a spin-off rather than moving a greater story forward.
