Wigs and moisturizing is what saved me lol I’m so sad I can’t wear braids anymore and if I do it has to be for 3 weeks tops

At this stage, I think I'm in-between 1 and 2 but I've seen some improvement since being consistent with just scalp massages and a regular routine. I've decided to stay away from styles with tension for the next month (forever honestly) and do consistent daily scalp massages with a rosemary oil blend (with a carrier oil and still doing my routine of weekly washes, bi-weekly protein treatments and deep conditioning). I intend to use Minoxidil after this first month in addition to the rosemary blend (Minoxidil + scalp massage in the morning, rosemary blend + scalp massage at night). Wish me luck :)

Hey I was wondering I believe I am going through the same thing, and just wanted to ask about your progress because I was thinking about taking the same route and some tips if you could provide.

@@yonisfarah6999 Hiya! This is what I do now: -Bi-weekly deep condition and protein treatments (I just switch which one I do week to week) -I stimulate my scalp with a massage and Chapter 2000 because it tingles lol. I do this every 2 or 3 days -I shampoo weekly -I trim once every 6 months (my goal is to retain length) -I moisturize my hair every 3 days and make sure to seal my ends with oil -When I protective style with braiding hair , I keep it for 6 weeks at most and make sure to keep up with washing and doing my condition and protein treatments -When sleeping, I keep my hair in a silk scarf or put a silk pillowcase on I’ve noticed my hair is much healthier, thicker and longer now and I have less breakage. I hope this helps :)

Hi doctor I have a question. Do you remember the sew ins we used to do in circle? I have a patch right there and I was also burned as a kid at that place do you think the traction could also be right there?

Idk if anyone else heard this myth but in my city I’ve always heard to pull ur hair tight so it’ll grow. So box braids were popular. I have thin hair line from tight high ponytails 😩. I didn’t learn about traction alopecia till recently.

My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed last week. It started two years ago when I started to let people braid her hair. I would leave the styles in for weeks, basically neglecting her hair. I feel horrible, and now I don’t know what styles to do. Her hair type is 4c barely shoulders length blown out.

Sadly, it was clear mine wasn't reversible, so I opted for a hair transplant.

I don’t want to ever get there smh I miss my braids and cornrows but I’m done

@@Queenlisanyc same. No cornrows for me, and no more braiding the front of my hair either- only twists with my natural hair!

@@dineatrislloyd2921 I paid $2600 for mine but you can get it done way cheaper than that

Can you give tips for mixed hair like 3b-c hair
@EgyptParis

I don’t think texture is a factor. Tight hair styles cause traction alopecia for anyone. I have mixed texture hair.

Wigs aren't good for traction alopecia .... the lace irritates the area
@Sparkle-ey7iw
@Sparkle-ey7iw 4 месяца назад
I got hair loss around my hair line from wearing glue less wigs. The lace was rubbing against my hair line even with a wig cap on
@tawa8229

Not all wigs are ones that require for the to glue them down. There are many non lace options
@Sparkle-ey7iw
@Sparkle-ey7iw 3 месяца назад
@@tawa8229 it wasn’t the glue for me. The friction from the lace and materials of the glueless wigs can cause traction alopecia for some
@Queenlisanyc

You can do half wigs or glueless! Thats what reverse mine back to healthy hair .. before I figured out what was going on I wore box braids faithfully
