MR PORTER's Style Director, Mr Dan May, demonstrates the many ways to wear the versatile staple, the cardigan.
It doesn't seem long ago that the cardigan was seen as the reserve of an older generation, something to be filed alongside slippers and a pipe. How times have changed. Today's cardigan is a world away from the cosy knit that grandpa used to wear: smart, stylish and super-versatile, it's as much a wardrobe staple as the classic crew-neck sweater. I think the colors go well but yeah I totally agree. I mean the paisley bow tie really just set it off for me. But I rate him for trying. It just really didn't come off.

Yeah. When I wear my cardigan, it's the only peace of clothing I wear, to really show it off. Who needs layering, when you can just go with one piece of clothing.

Each look is a bit too similar. Basically shirt, cardigan and a coat over it. Cardigan is buried under the jacket when it's supposed to be the star of the show.

I don't know how I feel about this one. I know it's Mr Potter so it supposed to be a higher level of fashion, but I really found this super bland. maybe it was the color of the cardigan or just the way they designed and decided to use it but it was wrong for me.

I know that this stylist has his own opinion and taste, and I support that. And I'm no fashion expert, I'm a menswear enthusiast and I research about classic style, still I find these looks very dumb and stupid. If they are supposed to be some kind of fashion, then that's alright. But shirts and ties worn untucked with jacket, that is too much disgusting. Let alone the matching and other stuff. Even the clothes doesn't fit, the model looks like some sort of zombie in those. Sorry for the offensive comment

Sifat Sartaj I agree. I’m no expert, but fit is fashion 101, and many of the pants and shirts this “stylist” is using fit too poorly on the model. Also, the fourth look, the one with the denim shirt and the bow tie, almost made me barf, it was so disgusting I almost lost it.

This has some of my favorite looks. I got dressed in the dark look, I bought the wrong size look, the homeless guy look. And the I almost got it right look.

Cardigans as layering only work for the super slim (or skinny, even), and therefore not for me. I wear them rarely, and then usually just over a shirt with nothing over them.

Dylan Vole's Arsenal of Bricks these guys are supposed to be professionals in the field of fashion and clothing, so I expect for them to make better outfits than a RU-vidr who is more spread out (lifestyle, grooming, fashion, etc), but I was obviously wrong. I don’t know who would be the wealthy idiot that spends money to get dressed by these incompetents.

Awful. Just because you can put together a barrage of expensive clothing on a model doesn't mean it looks good. Look 2 and 5 were tolerable at best. The rest, just awful.

Like your videos it is not my style but I suppose it is absolutely not the style that people that think they know how to dress (dress for office) appreciate at all and that makes me warm at hart, thanks for that. I do love cardigans but have a hard time finding some versatile like this grey, what kind off cardigan is it. I do think you posses a high knowledge in dressing and I like that you outshine normal people in your taste, that think they know how to dress. But the only thing they achieve is a stiff and boring look. I would like to accive a warm, soft and hugged feeling but still very formal. Like discreet 3 pice tweed, knitted silk tie and brown formal leather shoes. Maybe you should do top 10 miss conclusion in mens dressing, it would be interesting and I really think I would learn something.

So glad to see everyone hating on these. I thought it would be all pretentious morons frothing at the outfits because they're expensive. The fit is horrible on all except 5. The best outfit is 5. 2 has potential if it was better fitted

I really believed in the designer's different vision for the outfits. Everybody has his own taste for clothing. But to see that kind of underwear? A white vest under a white shirt. That is just funny. Let alone that the upper underwear should be a T-shirt. I hope the man making the outfits will see this and won't make the same mistake.
