Got a 07 sporty 1200c myself and I’m looking to go w some TC bros bars. Didn’t know how other people got these damn risers off and put the speedo back on the new bars. Appreciate the video my man!
Ok bud thank you , also do the wires inside the riser clamp just pull down with the rest of the wiring into the frame , thanks for all your help 👌👌✌🏻✌🏻
I am with you, I want to get some apps, but the risers and speedometer cluster setup are just so limiting and tacky. I think I’ll put my Speedo off to the side on mine. Nice look, thanks for posting!
I'm doing the same thing but ordered 12" mini apes from harley. Wondering if I'll need any other extended cables besides brake line. Hoping not but we'll see.
i have a triumph but i'm looking to get a sportster sometime in the future and my main concern was wether or not you could get rid of those ugly risers because i prefer the look on the 883 handlebars better, thanks, thought it wasn't possible
Hi thanks for the vid , just wandering where you got your 11 inch bars as I can only find 10 or 12s in dimpled bars , any help would be greatly appreciated
I'll look through my orders and put a comment in where I got everything. Meant to do it sooner but ended up doing a 6 day road to trip and just got back the other day. Keep a look out! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Good morning sir...again with another question thanks again for those parts I found and ordered them in on Amazon..so the question I have now is what about the wires in the risers isn't there big clips on harness of wires that are hiding in there are those left on when your rerouting wires thank-you
Some of those wires you'll probably just have to tuck somewhere. If I remember right I just bundled them up with a zip tie. I don't have that bike anymore or I would check. A lot of times when I do custom work zip ties are my friend. Lol
@tasatasat thanks , I'm actually doing this exact setup with a 2006 custom 1200. Going with 12" mini apes from Harley and going to zip tie the little cluster thing just like you did lol. I think it's the best way. I ordered an extended brake line and really hoping that's all I need.
Hi sorry I should if asked all one time ...last question what about wiring to the throttle side and other side did you have to extend it or not thanks again I'm so pumped to do this ASAP
Not a problem. Haha No, I didn't have to extend anything other than the brake line on the front brake. The wiring i did have to move around a little, undo some fasteners, etc. Just be careful with positioning. Make sure they don't stretch when turning the bars completely one way or the other. Just have to position them right. Also depends on the height of bars you plan on using too.
I used some off of Amazon. They were the Kemimoto. Only $30. I've used them on a couple of different Sportsters with no issues at all. The only thing I had to do as far as cables and wiring was disconnected some of the clamps for the wiring if I remember right, reroute, and then replace the front brake line with a longer one. I didn't have to cut any wires. It was pretty easy.
Here's the link to the one I bought on Amazon. Unfortunately it says not available. Maybe you can try eBay or search it on Google. Bikers Choice Single Gauge Speedometer or Tachometer Mount Kit for Harley Davidson 1995-2005 Sportster, FXR models a.co/d/b79sbTc
Hey! I had to look through my email, but I'm pretty sure it's the one I got off of eBay, if you do a search for, "Speedometer Trim Waterproof Rubber Ring Fit For Harley Sportster XL1200", it will pull up the one I bought. I'm pretty sure that's the bottom seal. The top seal from the original worked.
