Thank you for your video! That was exactly and precisely what was going on with mine. I followed you step by step, and it is fixed. No more rugs for me. You are awesome!
Thanks for the video this was the fix for me! For anyone else trying this, it was impossible for me to pull out the power to the lock and I had to break off the broken lock, and pull out the remaining prongs with pliers. Good luck everyone attempting this fix!
I work in apartments that have these same GE stackables. They are an absolute joy to service and move around. Asshole architects who design apartments just love to frame the walls around those things so tight that servicing them is a total pain in the ass.
Thanks for the video! I ordered a replacement part and I still had the same issue. What I found was that during moving the door had got a little warped such that with a little weight, the lid switch activated. So I would suggest folks first try firmly pushing on that corner to see if they can get it to lock. If so, then a little bit of tweaking of the lid could save you the $40! Fortunately Amazon has an excellent return policy :)
Hey - I have a GE stackable washer/dryer - All of the modes work (spin, rinse, etc), expect for the wash cycle. For wash it starts, fills the drum and then there are some clunking sounds. Only the wash light will blink after that. The lid lock feature works in other modes. Any idea what could be going on?
I've tried this in about a dozen of these exact same machines. The plug never comes out for me. It's ridiculous. Even had 2 guys pulling with channels as hard as we could. Ended up just busting the old one off every time making sure not to damage the plug.
Hi could you help me, my washer and dryer. Just not do anything, throw a little water and later doesn’t do anything. I tried connectors switch but I don’t have any idea what is the problem? Could you help me please
Hi , I’m working on one of these now. The user said the following about what she was experiencing “ It wouldn’t fill all the way for the load, and when in wash cycle I believe because of the clutch broken they explained that it would only do a quarter of the spin instead of doing the half back and forth it should of been doing. “ If you look up clutch part it’s just the plastic gear showing. I guess she had an appliance person come look and say it was the clutch. I I looked at the clutch and there’s no teeth missing, so I’m sceptical that’s what it is. It’s apart now so I can’t test without reassembling. Just wondering based on her description of the symptoms what you would be looking at 1st?
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro I thought you’d be able to see some visible wear on the teeth if that were the case. I’m also Trying to understand why the washer not filling enough could be related to a clutch. I did take the shift assembly off and tested the motor with 120v applied. That seems to be working fine, the motor turns the shifter wheel very slowly which I’m thinking is normal.
Tried this fix and it did not work! Pretty bummed out, probably just need to replace this machine if there are many other things that can cause it to fail
So GE has been out 4 times, 1st time was under warranty. 2 times they billed, last time they replaced a sensir and left and 1st load it filled, agitated briefly and shut iff. All indicator lights were out. Now they are coming again tuesday, any ideas?
All lights off and non responsive buttons? If it’s not a breaker (not likely) got to troubleshoot with the volt meter to see where line voltage is not present
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro we have power, the cycle can be restarted but always the same results, it just quits at some point with a full tub. It's at my mom's and I will be visiting today but GE is sending someone again next Tuesday so I won't likely get involved yet. They offered to give me a credit on a new one and this one is very lightly used by a 90 year old.
A very nice tech came the last time and determined itt was weak suspension springs. He ordered them came back and instalked under warranty and it has been fine since.@@juttaduncan7216
What model are you looking for? There should be a tech sheet behind the plate above the washer lid thats held in with the three philips screws. But ya I will make a video on service modes
Worst washer ever my mom's hasn't even made 5 loads and already out. And apparently the switch and lock are not the only problem control boards pumps transmission a ton of problems on these junk piles of scrap
