It was a wonderful refresher coarse for me and I greatly appreciated being able to see this again! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
I did everything suggested in this excellent video-several times to try to fix the "Original is jammed in the ADF." I can print from my computer but am not able to scan or copy due to this error. After the video steps were attempted, the jam is still not fixed. However, when it came to the step to clean the grey rubber rollers in the duplexer and I tried to move the rollers to clean another patch, I could not do this. The bar that holds the rollers doesn't move; the individual rollers don't move. Advice?
I haven't used my 6600 much, but in the middle of printing yesterday it randomly stopped half way through a page and said there was a paper jam. I proceeded with multiple troubleshooting steps to no avail. I was trying to go through all my possible options to trick the printer into printing, and by cleaning the ink head or cartridge head or whatever, was able to get the printer to print out the page that corresponded to that test. No issues. However, when in comes to anything else, it refuses to print and believes there is a jam. It clearly isn't a hardware issue from what I can tell. Is there a software fix for this? Or is mine just defunct. Of course this had to happen a month after my warranty expired.
Fixed it. It was the feeder that sits right above the paper in the input tray. I just started wiggling it and moving some of its moving parts back in forth and it instantly came to life.
I've included 2 documents for you. The first applies if you are printing a document, the second one is in case you are using the ADF to run the paper through the printer. I purchased from Staples new last week. Attempting to install today. I am getting message that says, "The printer cartridge cannot move. Open the ink cartridge access door, clear any paper jam or obstruction, and select OK." There has been no paper added to the tray at this point. Upon checking area revealed by access door I so no paper or packing materials. I have checked all area in the video just in a case there was any tape, cardboard or any other packing material. What else can be done. I would not expect to have to send this product in for service new out of the box.
Hello Oceans Admin, Please start by doing a reset of the printer. Please search for C03177455 on HP’s home page or using Google search. The title of the document is “Resetting the Printer”. It will walk you through a hard reset of the printer. If that doesn’t correct things, please search for C03079130. The title of the document is “'Carriage Jam' Message Displays on the Printer Control Panel”. Please follow the steps within that troubleshooting document.
***** I have now tried all of the steps recommended in C03177455 "Resetting the Printer" and C03079130 "Carriage Jam". The carriage has remained at all times and in all step firmly in the docked position (all the way to the left). Is it possible to get it replaced? Should take it back to Staples?
Hi Oceans Admin, The next step would be to service the printer. Which means you can call HP technical support to have the printer serviced (please have the document numbers handy so you can explain to the technical support representative what steps you have already taken) or you can return the printer. If you chose to call HP technical support they can be reached at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region please go to Google search and enter 'contact HP worldwide'. Your first option should be the site for contacting HP, when you click on it you will be prompted to choose your country/region.
+Pho Chantong Please perform the below mentioned steps to fix this issue: With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 15 seconds. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. Reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn the printer on
Gicela Peralta To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information? - How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)? - Are you getting an error message on the front panel of the printer? If yes, what does it say? - What operating system are you using on your computer (Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Mac 10.9, etc)? - Is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet? - Does your print queue show the document waiting to be printed? Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
+L hill Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. The following steps apply to both real and false paper jams: hp.care/2uKk1iY
