I followed these steps a number of times but not working. the HP Office jet 4622 is giving an paper jam error message. But there is no paper jam. I keep getting a paper jam error every time I try to print but there is no paper jam error. I followed all the steps for cleaning the inside and everything... can you make a suggestion?
Thank you for that information. I don't know the weight,but I wouldn't put it over 32. We have used it in there off and on for a year now. That isnt really the issue, just story. It has regular copy paper in now and jams straight after only 3in of advancement. It stops rounding the bend at the black rollers.
breanna kimes I suggest that you call into HP Technical Support to get this resolved. It sounds as if you have a hardware issue that may need to be repaired.
Just a heads up to anyone trying this, when you go to tilt the printer on its side to clean the bottom rollers there is a chance that ink that hasn't dried in the pads will spill everywhere including all inside the printer!
+Daniel de Regil I am presuming that you are asking about a paper jam in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder). There isn't a HP video about this, but we do have a troubleshooting document titled "An ADF Paper Jam Error Displays on the HP Officejet 4610 All-in-One, Officejet 4620, Deskjet Ink Advantage 4610, and 4620 e-All-in-One Printer Series". It will walk you through the steps to clear a paper jam in the ADF. To find the document please search for C03162170 on HP's home page or using Google search.
You can go to hp.com and enter 'C03162170' into the search field in the upper left hand corner. The document gives you the detailed steps to follow when you encounter the error message 'The original has jammed or the document feeder (ADF) is dirty. To remove the original…' on the front panel of your printer.
Hi. I have tried all of the suggestions under, paper feed and paper jam. My issue is a blend of both. The HP Officejet 4620 picks up the paper and jams within a few inches (no tears no twisting) before getting ink on the paper. The ink cartridge begins to print and it doesn't recognise the failure to finish advancing the paper til the print is done. Then is says "paper jam." However the paper never jams it just doesn't advance beyond 3". I have done a restart, cleaned rollers multiple times, looked at printer properties, etc.. everything suggested. As a full story, this happened after changing to a thicker paper for a copy. Not printing from a computer. Thank you for your time and assistance. It has been a good printer until now.
breanna kimes The heavier paper that you are using, is it greater than 28 lb bond paper? This printer support paper that is 16 to 28 lb bond with the exception being photo paper which can be up to 66 lb bond. You can find a chart showing the supported media types and weights in the Officejet 4620 User Guide starting on page 144. I have an Officejet 6600 and have never had a printer that jams as much as this one. I make sure the paper is in the tray straight and not bunched up too much, but every other job seems to jam the paper. Really aggravating.
+Chip Milligan If you are getting paper jam messages that often it leads me to believe that some where in the printer is some sort of debris or the printer is not sitting on level flat surface instead of some sort of computer pad. As this video is for the Officejet 4620 and you have the Officejet 6600, please follow the steps in the "A 'Paper Jam' Error Message Displays on the HP Officejet 6600, 6700 Printers" document ( ow.ly/XX6SF ). If you get to the 'Reset the printer' please ensure you are plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector/power bar/power strip.
luckily i trusted my instinct and pulled the paper out from the cartridge section. Out came the culprit, a small piece of the stylofoam packing. Wasted 10+ pieces of paper

I am having the same problems as breanna below. I have watched the videos and tried all the suggestions and my paper does not advance past the rollers but still continues to act like its printing!
After much hope my HP4620 is still not printing. The paper starts to go into print mode and travels about 3 inches and stops. Then I hear the printer working only moments later does not print and gives paper jam error. I went through all the steps and the cleaning tutorial all to no avail. Please help
+Brian Thornton Please follow the steps in the carriage jam document ( ow.ly/Ybkjf ). Quite often a carriage jam will present itself first as a paper jam. Please let me know how things turn out.
The error message is reading paper jam and I have tried all of the suggested steps. The paper seems to go right through the machine and stops at the back rollers. I can take the paper out with no problem, and there is no print on it.

Paper doesn`t go beyond the roller just bellow the removeable tray. Seems other people are having this issue as well and nothing HP is doing about it. If a had my money scammed i`d be less stressed. Would`ve just moved onand bought another one instead of trying to make this shit printer work
Piece of crap I bought this printer one and ahalf year ago and I only bought inks three times and printed about 1000 pages and still jam piece of crap and shit bussines purposes and now nothing and tomorow i have presentention

If you find that there is no foreign debris in the printer, you might have a carriage jam. It is not unusual for a carriage jam to originally present itself as a paper jam. I did everything in all of the videos, the problem is that I moved from San Juan to Hatillo an hour from the most nearest Office Depot where I bought the extended warranty.
