Fixing an XBOX ONE that won't power on (Makes noise but no light) (Easy fix) 

Thanks to some of the comments i've received here's some fixes in case the method used in the video doesn't work for you: Try a different power supply. If you have an external storage device (like a usb stick or HDD), disconnect it and try turning the console on. Unplug it completely and leave it off for a while.

I never comment on anything but this guy is some kind of wizard, literally had this issue today and this was the only method to work.

Thought the Xbox was dead and would have to wait until I could get a new one and there not cranking them out like everyone was hoping. Once I unplugged the power source and plugged it back in, it worked like a charm. Thx so much.

I got really excited when I came across this video today. Same issue as you. Took to a place to fix last week but they had no clue. Got it back today. Had to manually remove disk in disk drive by putting paper clip in hole on left side of xbox. Putting disk back in like on video didn't work...I tried like 20 times. I went to Gamestop as a last ditch effort to hook another power supply to it and it went right on. $50 power supply beats buying a brand new xbox...Thanks for the video!

Xbox has been doing this all weekend thought I’d give it one last try after hitting the top of it about 5 times and it turns on 😂

I literally hit the power, got the black screen and just left it for about 8mins or so, smoked a joint, and came back to my pin input screen. Hell just try to leave it on. It worked for me.

The sound keeps repeating from the PowerBrick

unplug the power cord from the Xbox not the wall for 15 seconds then plug back in to reset the cache then hold down the power button and controller sync button at the same time until you hear a second beep and then factory reset the Xbox using your controller and following the steps your welcome

I just unplugged absolutely everything and it worked somehow

Mine doesn't even acknowledge a disk is there I can just manually push it in and when i tried ur method nothing happend 😪😢

I was getting ready to buy a new Xbox, but I am glad that I found your video. My Xbox would not come on and I tried your solution. I got a game disc and tried to put it in, but when I tried a game disc came out (forgot it was in there). My Xbox came on and is working now. Thank you for saving me $499 if not more.

Hey I had this same exact problem and none of the RU-vid vids helped then I decided to buy a new power cord and sure enough it worked. Just a generic one from amazon works and it’s only like 20 bucks. Honestly if none of these others ideas on RU-vid don’t work like holding down a button or somthing, I encourage you to just buy a new power cord.

Unplugged it 3 times, did a full power reset thought it was definitely broken. Then tried to unplug it one more time and it magically worked.

Thanks, I followed what you did and it’s working now! My Xbox situation was just like yours. Turns out My power supply was really dusty. Then when it finally turned on, it took a while for Xbox to restart and had trouble reading my gaming disc. I kept messing with things and now it’s working like normal.

Mine had a borderlands 3 disc inside .. manually ejected it but it doesn't deny the disc in reentry. Disc gently slides in but still no light. So close to a solution I can feel it. :)

To anyone who finds out that none of these options work I had to completely change the power cable and it worked

As soon as I turn it on it tuned right back off a few seconds later

I was worried there for a second. Glad I tried putting a disc in my console and oh there it works again.

Guys if this dosnt work...it’s a problem with the power brick. You just need a replacement and it works just fine

It is a software issue that is due to age. Unplug EVERYTHING, then only plug the power directly from an outlet and don't touch any buttons for 10-20 minutes. This has happened twice after my console goes unplugged for awhile. It always turns on after "charging up" like this tho. I hope this helps!

My light came back on but it didn’t come onto my tele the Xbox and the remotes couldn’t connect can someone get back to me ASAP

if you have anything that you connect to the side (I usually charge my portable or headphones) unplug it ASAP and try again it should work

I have the same happening to me but it makes a really faint sound and every 30 seconds it tries to on by itself but when I try to turn it on it makes a faint sound and it does like a *click* *click* *click* noise. Is there something really wrong with my xbox?

I followed your guidance and...hey presto it is alive once more. However, I could not get it to connect to XB Live. Tested network etc, put a wire in instead of wi fi, renewed game pass ultimate (on laptop), which had some payment left on it. Nothing. I Restarted the XBox...update required...grew some food crops and went on holiday until it had updated...4.2gb update...went to sleep and did a week's worth of work shifts to allow it to complete...73%...built a mini home out of matchsticks...still updating...learned to play saxaphone...89%...Sit tight while we update your XBox console - 69%...got addicted to hard drugs, went to rehab' and got clean again...78%...Did I mention that this took quite a long time?... I'm not sure but by now I may be too old to play video games...91%...my trigger finger has arthritis...97%...the seat of my gaming chair is now too low down for me to get up without a pair of nurses assisting me...98%...98%...98%... ... ... ...Has Elon emigrated to Mars while I've been doing this?...99%...(watery electronic noise) - Back up and running, but no one is on here and there are flying cars going past the window. Started Forza as a test...YAY! Great fix dude, YOU ROCK!

I can guarantee ALOT of people are dealing with the hd port fort the cable being loose. It affects the power connection for the power plug right beside it especially on the black consoles

So what worked for me is disconnecting everything, letting it sit for awhile, then I connected only power cord and then tried to put a disc in and it worked. Keep in mind my power button would not glow and the sound did come on but faintly. Same thing for eject button but first time sounded normal and then faintly. Anyways, let me know if this worked for you and please comment any combinations of suggestions.

If anyone is watching this in 2022 i fixed mine by unplugging the cords on the back of the xbox then plugging them back in, then waiting a couple minutes

Had this happen. New block didnt work. We took it apart and the power ribbon connecting to the front of the xbox where buttons are was loose. Removed and put the power ribbon back in place and good as new

Thanks man. Simple solution. My Xbox made the noise to turn on. And the power brick went from orange to white but no Xbox screen on tv. I had to have a game disc in the Xbox to turn on. I thought it was totally ruined. I’m now happily being killed over and over by Chad from Colorado. Wish it stayed broken. 🤪

I love how it’s only like a couple weeks after I stop playing Xbox live that my Xbox stops working and then go try and get on their support website and find out they’re not excepting calls for this issue .....weird

Still works, I had to manually eject the disc and hold power button and disc eject button for 5 seconds but it worked

My xbox is when I plug the power supply cable out from the xbox it turns orange but when I plug it in the xbox it completely shuts off :(

Hope I can help someone. Mine had the same problem. Actually it got this way when I replaced the power brick. But I already had a game stuck in there and amazingly what fixed it was to remove the external HDD, turn it on and then connect it again. Couldn't believe it!

How did you know that it wasn't a problem with the power supply?

Mine would make a faint click sound when I’d hit the power button. After reading I should tap the remove disc button WHILST holding the power button-it solved nothing and now the power button doesn’t make ANY noise. Power brick works fine. EDIT: it was the brick. Lucky I had the power brick from my first Xbox One

I fixed mine by unplugging the External hard drive, then unplugging the power from the console for a few seconds. After i plug it back in you turn on the controller and the xbox should turn on. That’s how i fixed mine

so i have a simmalier situation. mine actually does work but randomly at night i can hear it running (not surevifvits the console itself or the fan,) but my xbou power button is not lit up. it will do this for lije maybe 5 mins then cut off

Mine had the same issue but i removed the cable connected to the power brick from the console for about 15 sec then i connected the controller through a wire after that i spammed the on button and the one for the CD then the light turned white😊

What happens if there’s already a disk in the Xbox and it won’t come out

I was playing my Xbox until the power all on the left side of my room Went off so I moved everything to the right side of my room including my tv and everything so I try to plug my Xbox back in but the brick. Wouldn’t come on so I blew into it thinking it overheated and let it chill for a bit and then I put it up and it turned orange after that I tried to turn my Xbox on but it only makes the noise for the power button and the disk incert there is no sound for the motor turning on or for the light turning on
