Nice! I’ve been working on my Pro Mod too for a couple of weeks. Had a bad locking nut that caused a sitar type sound ~ that was new?!?! Installed a D-Tuna, took any high frets down, shimmed the neck a bit so I could get everything a bit further OUT of the body. I always put a little grease on those knife points but I know what you mean about the flaking and crappy silver finish. The new nut I put on was an original, unplated black FR. It took a bit but they all do (guitars it seems) but I’m really loving it. The Wolfgang series (standards) are still my all time favorite.

No words about the endless fine tuners ? You can probably tune up with those things alone

Nah sorry a Floyd is close enough for me and looks good doing it. That bridge is hideousness. But for a studio guitar not meant for the stage or the u2b's (after this appearance),.. it's perfect! And you make it sound amazing, as always, big fan.

It's louder because more stability and rigidity compared to the sponges before = more direct energy transfer

How did you fix the fret issue?

You said you don't like the JB but then your bridge pickup sounds just as mid-rangy as the JB. Also, over-wound Al 2 pickups tend to sound sloppy in the bass, so not a good idea at all. Al 2 pickups sound great with a sweet top-end when under-wound, especially with an uneven coil-wind 10% or more. Your neck pickup sounds great

Did this new floating bridge line up with the post poles without rerouting out the post holes

Nicely done. I do like the Floyd but the knife edge would be problematic with the plating issue. You could maybe sell the old one for the saddles? Really enjoyed all 3 parts.

While knowing where this started this is lovely improvement over the old one... just personally I have issues with that "Van Halen" style tone.. or I might put seriously thick strings like 013 or so to compensate .... towards my taste

I just bought a MIM San Dimas Trans Green Burst and am awaiting delivery. I found this mini-series very interesting and informative, so I subscribed to the channel. The guitar really has the VH vibe. I was wondering if it would be fair to say the mods cost nearly as much as the guitar, even discounting your time for the fret level(and custom routing;-))? Thx.
