Fixing BROKEN 2015 Hyundai Sonata Cruise Control / Volume Switch on Steering Wheel

My cruise control button on my 2015 Hyundai Sonata snapped in half and I decided to try to fix it and share it with the world. This approach should work on similar issues, including volume button, on Hyundai Sonatas from 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019. It may also work on some model years on the Elantra, Santa Fe, and Accent! Please let me know if this was helpful or if you have tips and tricks of your own. This is a DIY car repair video aimed at saving money and keeping your car in as good condition as possible.

I saved myself over $300 thanks to your video. My Set/Resume button broke just like in your video so I got some estimates to replace the switch. Lowest estimate was $320 (parts and labor). Not too difficult to do. My only suggestion is to place a paper napkin or thin cloth between the small screwdriver and surface used as fulcrum to prevent major scratches or nicks.

Is JB weld good instead of glue that's all i had ?🤷🏾‍♂️

That should work! You just need to let it set longer than super glue

this happen to my volume butons but in the middle had the function of mute, im affraid of disarm and dont be able to fo fit all again.

Sounds like you may have a different setup; the steps in my video may not work. Best of luck though!

Did you disconnect the battery when you did this fix?

I did not. The part that i took off was not directly connected to any wires or circuitry so disconnecting the battery was not necessary.

It can happen entirely by itself, especially in cold weather: we had a sudden cold snap around -18C and lo and behold, the next morning my volume button lost the top lever arm. No one touched it, it just cracked by itself.
